Pioneer - Anyone Experienced sort life Span ?

Hey guys, i own a pioneer deh-p5550mp unit and has been great and really works well wiht teh customisation of sound for my sound setup.

and looks great

But i have had jstu over 2 yrs and have found now with teh lilttleest scratches and bit of finger prints, and teh cd's skip,

I've tyed laser lens clearner many time and hasn't really helped.

HAs anyone experienced or heard that they have short life expectancy over other brands ????

I've had two Pioneer drives stuff up on me... Both around the 24 month mark...

Unfortunate cause otherwise they are a good unit...

The lazer might be out of alignment in which case the cleaner wont help. This is a common problem mainly for slighly older units. But I suppose it would come down to the amount of use its had and maybe the suspension you have/roads you drive over. I work in car audio and havent seen one pioneer come back under warranty (we sell them with a 3 year warranty)

Without going through a shop yoyu can send them back to Pioneer to be serviced. They take them apart, clean them and check them over for a minimal amount.
