BOSCH 040 Pump

hey i got a bosch 040 pump and was just wondering if it is possible to just install the pump without a tune...i have standard injectors high flowed turbo, full exhaust and fmic, 1 bar boost, tuned without pump.....so if i put the new pump in will i need to get the computer retuned...

if i dont need to get it tuned will it run a bit richer and can i just equal this out by upping the boost a little bit?

Pump should make no difference to tune, the fuel pressure regulator sets the fuel pressuie not the pump.

I lost 10rwkw after dropping in my bosch pump.

This was due to the previous pump running almost perfect afr's. The pump was on its last legs. Prevention is better than a cure.

ur saying it coincidentally ran perfect afrs but this was nothing to do with the fact that you thought it was on the way out yeh?

and that the bosch pump is in flow/power range and still sees a decrease in power??

If you can adjust fuel pressure back down to pressure that car was tuned on, in theory it should be ok. If not, all your fuel maps will be fat, including idle & start maps. Could make it a pig. Really should re-tune.
