Hi guys,

I have been offered to buy a package of goods to get my car up and on the road but not sure weather its quite the bargin its cut out to be.

It includes 1 headlight, 2 park lights, and a rear window.

How much would this stuff be worth?

Stuff i need to source still.

Center vent.

and steering wheel.

maybe a stock air box.

Also i have been told a few things about getting my car registered. Its not complyed yet.

I have import papers that bring it in under the 15 year rule.

This means it just has to pass a road worthy. Am I correct in saying that. I did do research before i bought it but a few people have now told me differentally.

you also need to make it meet the ADR's which involves:

side intrusion bars

child restraints

fuel filler restrictor

high mount stop light

tyre placard

Depending on how much they want for the parts Sam is what makes that a good or bad decision.

Yes you will need those parts for the compliance and sometimes its better to just get them than wait around for them to turn up cheaper.

There are a few little things you have to do, so the car meets complaince for TAS rego under the old 15 year rule.

you DONT need side intrusion bars (so dont listen to anyone that say's you do)

and the high mount stop light does not matter here either (if you got it in the wing then it does have to be operational though)

COMPLAINCE NEEDS:

seat belts and child restraints changed (although you can get the original's certified, but its not really worthe it)

drivers side mirror has to be changed

VIN number has to be stamped under the bonnet (and obviously the import papers have to match as well)

Unleaded fuel only sticker on the inside of the petrol flap and depending on where you go you may need the fuel filler restrictor???? (i didn't though)

all lights have to be operational (stop/brake, indicators and headlights)

all windows (electric or mechanical) have to be operational

no part of the exhaust can be going to atmosphere :P

aftermarket air intake is ok (but again depends on where you go)

number plate lights need to operational

tyres need to meet approval (ok tread left, no cracks/splits in side walls)

battery fasterner

and thats about it really.

if you need a hand with anything then give me a yell.

also i know a few people that can help out with getting the car road legal with your inspection if you like :D

Cheers B

im not sure ive seen alot go to the trouble of putting the side intrusion bars in....

why do you need a pack for lights and stuff sam?

you dont need side intrusion bars but some peeps in the complaince game will tell you that so they can make a little more money out of you :P

I believe Sam needs the lights as his car at the moment only has one head light?

I dont know about TAS, but in SA you have to get intrusion bars fitted, as well as a engineers report so they can verify the work.

yeah its not really needed here in Tassie, although the rules are about to change again.

The beauty of it is, its getting easier and easier to register an import these days and its not costing as much either :P

Try going to Vic or QLD as there some of the hardest places to get imports complainced <_<

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
