  1. I changed to a 3.5 inch dump off my GT30 turbine together with 3.5 inch exhaust on my SR and made 40 more hp at 4000 rpm at the same time I swapped out a GT3071 to a 52T 3076. So I concur with DP's previous comments. Your boost curve does seem lazy for that size turbo - 19psi at 4,000! Also you can see the power fall over up top and converges towards the lower boost setting even though more boost is being used. IMO there is an exhaust restriction post turbine housing.
  2. Here's another which shows the additional relay required to run the fans in series to obtain the low speed fan. http://omgpham.com/nissan-s15-thermo-fan-setup
  3. Agreed they work very well on those Nissan's DP. But if thermos didn't work the world would also be full of dead and dying Commodores, Falcons, Toyota's and every front wheel driver too. I have personally found the Falcon AU fan setup very reliable and very effective on my S15. Even on low speed air is pulled through both the air-con condensor and intercooler. My FG G6ET also runs a similar dual speed setup from the factory and works a treat - high fan speed rarely comes on - as the low fan speed is sufficient for most conditions here in WA. My brother's twin turbo VZ Commodore has no probs with the factory thermo fan setup either. They key IMO is use a decent shroud coupled with an adjustable fan speed controller and from then on its a case of trial and error. Also pretty sure most manufacturers base their temps off the ECU temp sensor rather than a radiator temp sensor. I did use a Davies Craig thermo fan conversion on my Escort RS2000 back in the day with the probe in the top of the radiator inlet, as per the instructions, and it was a total fail.
  4. Lol...the above pics were the start of something that ended up morphing into this:
  5. Here is my hi/low speed Falcon AU fan setup controlled by an Autronic through a modified fuse box (for dual fans) and stock ECU temp sensor in my S15. Low on at 85 and off at 80. Not sure what the high settings are as it doesn't exceed 85 once the low fan speed cuts in. In your case you could go a dedicated adjustable fan controller which would allow you to adjust temps accordingly. http://www.spal-usa.com/fans/automated/accessories/fanpwm.html
  6. Refer post 140 showing a GT3076 with twin scroll .82 ex hsg on an RB....once again note the linear nature of the curve. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/269782-twin-scroll-vs-single/page-7
  7. GTX3071 is more of a sideways step IMO. Slot a Forced Performance FP3076 into your existing exhaust housing....GeeTeeTee has proven back to back better response and power over his GT3076. Might be what you are looking for minimal changes and for minimal cost. Link: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/426059-forced-performance-hta-turbos/ If you have your heart set on a twin-scroll setup (and prepared to spend the dollars) then I'd be looking to the Borg Warner EFR series of turbo's as these can be had in external or internal gate twin scroll form. Internal gate would save a lot of fabrication work. FWIW here's an early graph of my 3071 TS .78 (s15) during tuning overlayed onto a tradition single scroll 3071 setup (on a different s15) which shows the more linear nature of a twin scroll setup which may go to some way as to why some may say they don't hit as hard compared to a single scroll setup.

  10. Whilst not directly on topic - post 17 of the following link shows the different hp figures obtained using different shootout modes with the same car on the same day ( I knew turbo 4 cylinders were handicapped in shoot 4F ). Notably, the second last dyno shows the effect on hp when the temp probe is placed near a heat source. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/59178-power-differences-between-shootout-modes/?hl=dyno
  11. One of the Ford boys on Xr6turbo made just under 450rwks with an internal gated GTX3576 (1.06) through a ZF on E85 with just a tune, injectors, cooler and exhaust so the compressor is able to flow that sort of power.
  12. I currently use the Gizzmo one on my SR - no issues in the last 6 years. Make sure you have enough length on your studs to fit the spacer. I also have a Circuit Sports one which I got through FRSport. Anyway, scroll down and select desired model. http://gizzmousa.com/thermal-gasket.html
  13. Enter the GTX3576 on E85 and GTX3582.....
  14. Have used these with success. http://www.turbosmart.com.au/news/how-strong-are-your-hose-clamps
  15. Pretty sure the HKS ex housing (as used on PJ's car) on are only T25 size so amazed the small inlets can flow that power.
