Sounds like a dump pipe gasket leak or failing turbo. Stock air box with stock turbo is pretty quiet as you mentioned. Check for gasket leaks Hook up a boost gauge and see if its not going past 10psi

On another note, just purchased an eye-fi wifi SD card. http://www.eye.fi SD card with built-in wifi which will upload photos to iphone/tablet automatically. Planning to use it alongside my DSLR and view the photos on my tablet. Nothing worse than coming home, viewing pics on computer and noticing they are all blurred or too dark >.< My first world problem is having an Iphone & Android tablet. Shit is too complicated to make them work together. Best to have either all apple or all android...
