  1. If you think Mini H1's are good... You'll be blown away with: * RX330 non-AFS projectors with E30 clear lenses / Osram 66240 D2S Nightbreaker's / OEM Denso slim ballasts or * RX350 BiXenon projectors with STi-R clear lenses / Osram 66240 D2S Nightbreaker's / OEM Denso slim ballasts ^^ that's what you call high performance lighting
  2. Cheers guys. I did these for a local guy but he's since sold the GTR. Can't get anymore pix of this car
  3. High beam caps with the new extentions High beam cap in place. H1 bulb now safe from dust and water
  4. Test fit of both Gatling Gun shrouds with electrical tape holding them in place Gardening wire hold the Gatling Gun shroud to the OEM headlight bezel JB Stik applied as the primary adhesion JB Stik finally cured and hold the shrouds in place Dressed in Black Turn signal housing masked up before the Satin black finish Assembly line All that left to do is seal the HL up Testing the LED strips H1 bulb now protrudes from the back of the high beam housing. The dust cap no longer fits. Giving my plastic welder the vital info he needs: ">PP
  5. This was my first GTR35 set which I completed for a local car. I ended up attempting the True Quad setup and I was pretty happy with the way they turned out. I learnt quite a lot from this first set. Ill know what to do and what not to do for future sets. Enjoy the pix.... HL specs: * JDM GTR35 headlights * Quad Mini H1 5.0's * White painted cutoff shields * TRS side emitting LED strips for the new "Parker" setup * Mini Gatling Gun shroud (Low beam housing) + regular Gatling Gun shroud (High beam housing) * Full Satin Black finish using: VHT Prime coat SP305 "Satin Black" CLear lense pulled off OEM low beam projector vs Mini H1 5.0. Both lense holders are lined up. Very similar sized projectors 2.5" Mini H1 lense vs Slightly smaller OEM lense (forgot to get a measurement) Mini H1 fits like a glove in the OEM low beam reflector bowl Even the OEM headlight bezel fits around the Mini H1 without any modification. Looks just like factory Happy days!!! Anyone that wants to do a projector upgrade on a GTR35 HL will have the least hassle free experience with a Mini H1. * minor dremelling of the housing underneath the projector * JB Weld / Stik Mini H1 to the OEM reflector bowl * Fit OEM bezel (without modifiaction) Done deal!! Bottom section of the OEM projector still needs dremelling This is the dremelling I was talking about to fit the Mini H1. This helped with rotational alignment. Close up Both projectors fixed in place using JB Stik. You can see the M4 nuts & bolts thats helping to extend the Mini H1 in the High beam housing Side emitting LEDs installed and showing off the new "Parkers" Heres a mock up of how I want the Gatling Gun shrouds to look The first initial cut on the Mini GG. I was still afraid to hack into the OEM low beam bezel incase I couldnt pull off the look. Once you cut into it theres no turning back... Sliding the Mini GG inplace... Still requires a lot more cutting.. Finally bit the bullet!!! Had no choice as the Mini GG shroud was not going to "slip" in any further without cutting the OEM bezel More cutting leading to a better fit Getting closer and closer The final look of the OEM low beam bezel. No more cutting Mini GG trimmed to a final depth of 45mm for the best fit Test fit The first initial cut of the OEM high beam bezel
  6. ^^ soon as I read: "Location: Shanghi" No thanks!!!
  7. Some points to note after reading some of the recent comments: 1. "Self Levelling" is NOT "built" into R32 halogen projector headlights. A vehicle will have "Self Levelling" (aka: Auto Levelling) if the particular headlight had a levelling motor attached to the back with a plug coming off it that was connected to sensors on the front and rear suspension of the car. These sensors measure suspension travel in conditions like: * acceleration * braking * incline surfaces (up hill) * decline surfaces (down hill) * vehicle speed This information is sent to a control box unit or the cars ECU (manufacturer specific) then relayed back to the motor on the back of the headlight to make adjustments. Back when Nissan made R32's, Japan's HID lighting regulations didn't require vehicles to have * Auto Levelling & * Headlight washers Not sure if Japan has toughened up its HID lighting regulations like Europe / Australia etc.. ^^ having said the above, I'm willing to bet R32's DO NOT have auto levelling headlights. It's not as simple as retrofitting the auto levelling wiring and sensors. Where the hell are you going to get these from and how are you going to fit them to the car?? 2. Of all the projectors mentioned, here are the Pro's and Con's * Mini H1 6.0 * Honda Euro (aka TSX) * 3" FX-R 3.0 Mini H1 Pros: * Smallest of the 3 projectors. Plenty of room for fittment * Projector also has high beam function. Can be wired up with OEM high beam to give a quad high beam output * Readily available projector. TheRetrofofitSource own the production rights to this projector. Mini H1 Cons: * It's considered an. "entry level" projector. Light performance is last compared to the FX-R and TSX. Still 10 times better than the OEM projector * Mini H1 uses a 2.5" lense. OEM lense = 3". The small gap around the projector may / may not annoy you. Better than the TSX gap Euro (TSX) Pros: * Wide beam pattern looks awesome. When mated with a TSX-R clear lense it produces an awesome blue "colour band" than the FX-R and Mini H1 can't match. * Medium sized projector that has more fittment room than the FX-R Euro (TSX) Cons: * Not an easily projector to find in RHD format. You need to know where to look ;P * To get that blue "colour band" you have to purchase a TSX-R clear lense. More money ontop * It's a low beam only projector. No high beam function means it falls behind the Mini H1 & FX-R * Uses a 2.5" lense which will result in a small gap around the projector. Worse than the Mini H1 3" FX-R Pros: * Uses a 3" size lense just like OEM. No gaps * Wide beam pattern,, Already comes with a clear lense do nice & sharp out of the box (just like the Mini H1) * Also has high beam function * Readily available from TheRetrofofitSource, who also have the production rights to this projector 3" FX-R Cons: * The biggest of all 3 projectors. Less room toake adjustments Projector bulb types: * Mini H1 = HID H1 bulb * Euro ( TSX) = D2S bulb * 3" FX-R = D2S bulb If you get defected then you can convert back to halogen: * Mini H1 = halogen H1 bulb * Euro (TSX) = halogen H1 bulb with metal convertion washers from compliance workshops * 3" FX-R = halogen H1 bulb with metal convertion washers from compliance workshops
  8. ^^ yes you do.. Ship it to me in Darwin I'll do it for free for you..
  9. ^^ yay!! Finally a BNR34 owner Daniel, you can have any colour.. I've done: * Red * White * Turquoise * Yellow * Lavender * Blue
  10. There's a dude in the UK that modified his S1 headlights... Looks very OEM! If it were my HLs I would have blacked out the E46 shroud... I hate chrome!! S1 and S2 headlights can be had cheap if you keep monitoring Yahoo Japan / Import Monster I just picked up a set of R34 HID set for $550 shipped. Waiting for shipment from Japan.. Callam, this is all you need for your set: * RHD Morimoto Mini H1's. Small projector will mean less dremeling to fit * E46 Shrouds * H1 HID kit * Low beam adapters + High beam splitters * JB Weld Buy a 2nd set of HLs and I'll guide you step by step via txt / email.. I've done it before with 2 guys from the US.. ^^ the balls in your court.....
  11. ^^ the TSX projectors were mounted straight onto the OEM reflector and were adjusted via the factory adjustment points. No sensors were used.. I'm good but not that good.. Have a go at your own HLs... I'll give you much help as you need.. You just give me certain pix of your HLs pulled apart and I can guide you from there.. Callam: This particular HL took me about 4 days to build (on and off mucking around).. They're we're my first R34 set so I was learning the dynamics.. If I had a 2nd crack at it I reckon 1.5 full days... If I used a smaller projector like a Morimoto Mini H1 I could probably do it in one full day (less dremeling required).... Won't perform quite as good as a TSX unit but will still give you WOW factor over OEM...
  12. ^^ I'll take the pix brothaa... The ones you took aren't good enough for my standard.. Haha Callan: I didn't put the clear lense on coz it was do yellow that you wouldn't see through it.. Trust me, everything fits!! Shinobi's them on his car for the last 2 days.. Although I don't have pix yet I bet the output is 10 times better.. For the rest of the crew: I'm not a vendor on here so don't get me into shit.. If you wanna know price PM shinobi and he can give details. I won't answer any posts about $$$..
  13. ^^ cheers... And ppl thought I had balls to hack into R34 HLs...... Niggah pls!!!!
  14. ^^ oops... Wrong link.. Here ya go... RHS housing fully blacked out.... LHS still in its original paint scheme:
  15. UPDATE #2 RHS HL fitted to car and ready for the projector to be rotationally aligned before getting permanently fixed in Centre of the projector lense is measured to the ground. The figure in this case is 590mm I didn't have a long stretch of wall to test and align the output so I improvised. I stacked up a few orange containers and stuck A4 pieces of paper in the middle. The light will shine somewhere in the middle of the paper across all three stacks. They've been placed about 5m from the car Close up of the A4 paper showing a strip of black electrical tape stuck on. The top edge of the electrical tape is measured at 565mm from the ground. This is 25mm lower than the height of the middle of the projector to the ground. The low beam output will be aligned to this height. Here's a pic showing the Honda Euro projector in the low beam reflector Close up of one of the corner shows the application of JB Weld to help bond the projector to the reflector. I did this on 2 other areas and waited about 20min for the bond to harden OEM reflectors removed from the HL housing then more JB Weld applied around the projector. Projector body and lense masked for paint Blacked out XENON logo masked on the OEM E46 shroud and ready for about 3 coats of white paint. It takes me about 1hr to mask one shroud... That's 2hrs right there.. Lots of tiny pieces of masking tape Parker housing masked as the surrounding area will be blacked out Everything fitted up minus the lenses. They were quite yellow from oxidation that they wouldn't show any detail of the work I've done Stay tuned for when the HLs are polished + install pix...
  16. Yeah I'm "extremely game" and I've been known to "get it wrong" most of the time You have no idea shinobi_s14 on what a "ballsy move" I'm doing to your HLs. Ask the last guy how impressed he was when I was "slicing and dicing" his Kia HLs Check out my username, "EvoXenoN" for google pix of all the headlights that I've stuffed up HERE.. So funny!!!
  17. G'day ppl, Thought Id start this thread to show you a custom set of ER34/BNR34 HID HLs that I'm going to be finishing hopefully this weekend. The custom projector HLs that I've seen on the net so far look like Sh!t tbh... Here are the specs & parts list for the HLs: * Full Satin Black finish using VHT Prime Coat SP305. Produces an effortless smooth finish * Honda Euro (aka: TSX) HID projectors sourced by Jesse Streeter off Yahoo Auctions Japan * 2.5" TSX-R clear lenses from TheRetrofofitSource . com * 3" OEM E46 shrouds with the XENON logo. Sourced from eBay Let the pix begin: RHS HL pulled apart. High beam reflector masked up to keep dust free: OEM E46 shroud will be retrofitted to sit inside the HID reflector: Pic of both XENON logos. Unfortunately, the R34 one has to go: The reflector is attached to the HL housing at 3 points. I took these pics so I could see the position on the adjustment screw for when it comes time to removing the reflector off the HL. Here's a pic of the Honda Euro projector disassembled. The cut off shield is masked and ready for paint: Close up: Projector cutoff shield after 2 coats of VHT Red paint: Crappy OEM fresnel lense vs Aftermarket TSX-R clear lense. You can see "swirling" effect on the lense. This is designed to blur the output. The TSX-Rs will sharpen it all up: Blurry OEM output: Output with the TSX-R clear lense: OEM output close up: TSX-R output close up: Making way for the projector Trial fittment: Quick mock up of the reflector / projector / shroud: Stay tuned for more updates
