  2. hey guys i heard that autobarn mile end has their massive midnight sale on this friday night the 23rd..... so far ive only heard that its gonna be from 10pm till 1am and its like minimum 20% off everything.. either way i reckon im gonna head down and pick me up some cheap stuff..
  3. i sucessfully removed my rear windscreen without breaking it, however you have very little chance of getting the front one out without breaking it. - as i did mine :S
  4. speaking of quarter windows, does anyone have a clue as to how they come out? ive been trying and trying now and cant get them to budge. anyone know prices on the rubber kit for them? what i heard is $550 incl the actual glass.. but i only need the seals. anyone who has info on aftermarket substitutes for the rear window seal would be awesome too.. and windscreen come to think of it.

  6. so a 2way wont be deathly in the hills and spit me off a cliff somewhere... they are pretty reliable.. as in work the same every time.. unlike some diffs ive noticed will work one time and then not another you have to be prepared for anything depending on what mood its in..? i dont mind a little bit of gayness from it coz its going to be mainly weekend/cruising/latenight stuff so yeah
  7. what would an operation something like that be worth? and how does that go for wear and tear? coz ive heard shims wear things faster?
  8. hey guys, im very confused and dont know what to opt or my gtst 32. basically the car is street, i like to drive in the hills alot, needs to be daily driveable-ish.. can handle a little bit of inconvinience.. and i want it to slide hard every now and then when i tell it to... whats the best option?? i was offered a nismo 2way for my car, but i dont know if it wat i really want/need.. what do you guys reckon?
  9. also does anyone know of any other alternator off a different vechile that happens to have the same connection at the rear, and same bracket mount points.. because if i can id like to install something with an external regulator to enable the ease of service again at a later date.
  10. hey so does anyone have any part numbers for replacement alternators.. or spare parts or anything??? mines now cooked for the second time, only got it rebuilt a couple of days ago, and it died within a few hours of driving...? what gives? to my knowledge it was rebulit with aussie parts from an MR30.. also does anyone have anything lying around that i might be able to buy as a replacement? cheers. dave
  11. the way i see it is every little bit helps... and its not going to hurt the car if you dont do it, so do it and give urself some peace of mind and at least think that you are helping it haha
  12. hey every1, as the topic says, is there a trick to removing the window trims around the edges of the front and rear glass? special clips? tips, tricks? any help would be appreciated.. thanks edit: on an R32, sorry

  14. yeah i already spoke to some guy there and he said it was ok.. EXCEPT - (this is where the fun begins) ive got a bit of paper here, which was sent to me from RTA talking about it all so from what i can understand is that to comply the car - you gotta have it like this (plus other conditions that i havent listed but have here on this bit of paper) but if you get defected you can have some of the stuff as aftermarket so long as it doesnt break other rules, like you mentioned it has to be secured etc.
  15. hey everyone. in the near future im looking at heading to regency for my roadworthy compliance for my 32gtst... ive got all the instructions and stuff and im gonna need a few bits to get it thru. when i got the car it came with a pod filter, fmic and body kit. naturally the front intrusion bar has been eaten by an angle grinder to make airflow for the fmic, and this obviously isnt going to pass so ill need one of them, as well as the front bar itself, airbox, stock intercooler and some piping, steering wheel, can anyone recommend good places to source these bits?? id like to borrow what i can if i can coz this will obviously save me alot of money... any suggestions would be great, even if u reckon i could get away with the fmic or pod would be great news! thanks.

  17. read = you will get defected at some stage for some other 'stupid' thing and then when you go to get inspected they realise you dont have the emission stuff there, then you get another defect and it goes on etc etc
  18. does anyone have any comments on penrite? i use it at the moment in my other car, obviously doesnt compare, but its been the best so far for that car so i was considering HPR5 = 5w40 semi synthetic? sounds about the mark to me.. ill be getting redline oils for my diff and box. coolant ill use tectaloy 100plus
  19. cool. well i suppose this can be seen as good and bad - on one hand i dont have to get bars for that door but on the other hand the cars been smaked. i assume RTA wont have a problem with there being 2 different ones in the doors? ie only having receipt for one side of the car? so long as they are both there right? ill take the other door off the car and take it to SA chassis over here where ive heard theve got a good reputation for doing this stuff to imports. so thats shaved alot of bucks off my compliancing cost. thks guys
  20. hey everyone, just going thru some of the motions of getting my car ready for compliance (15 year rule) ive removed both door trims from my 1990 R32 Gtst and found what appears to be side intrusion bars installed from factory on the drivers side door? is this correct? or could they have been put there aftermarket in japan (why??) and the passanger side doesnt have them.. if this is the case and i am correct does that mean for compliance i will only be needing to get aftermarket ones installed into my passanger door? if this is the case im cheerin coz thats going to save me a fair bit of money. even still, check out the pics and let me know your thoughts! thanks peeps

  22. well ill be driving it pretty hard, so from what ive concluded so far ill be looking at the mobil 1 or this motul stuff. where can i get that? ive never seen it around much.. and how much is it? would the 5w30 mobil 1 be a better option to the thicker stuff?
