How do i know when theres a problem with the cam gears on my car? it seems theres a noise coming from inside the cam gear cover or close there abouts. It sounds like a rattling nosie comes on every now and then only ie it will come on for about 5mins then stop for a few mins then come back again. Any ideas people?

Hey, I'm thinking to replacing the cam gears on my engine for a S1 R33, do i need to replace both Inlet and exhaust gears or just the exhaust gear? any benefits if i replace inlet as well?

I'm in need of some replacement parts for my HKS SSQ bov so if anyone has a none working leaking or otherwise damaged one i'd be interested to take it of your hands. I recently had a front mount intercooler installed on my r33, and i did notice that after the front mount was bolted on the flutter noise changed and the noise difference was that the original flutter was faster, and the new flutter was slower. I have an atmo venting blow offf valve so thats why original i had some flutter, but in the last week or 2 the flutter has changed back to its original faster flutter. So my question is, is it normal for a car to do that? or is there something that has changed the noise after the FMIC was put on. Another question, I also put my stocko blow off valve back on and even with the FMIC it makes no flutter whatso ever, is that normal even with a FMIC? Any advice appreciated. Cheers.

For Sale: Trust Side Mount Intercooler. Straight swap and bolt on for any R33. Came off a R33 s1, but will fit series 2 as well, no idea if iy will fit a r32. Original and genuine trust core, it has the trust logo embedded/engraved on the bottom of the core to show its a genuine core. Intercooler is still in excellent condition with only a few fins bent. Core demensions are 240mm*190mm*100mm(thickness). Great alternative replacement for your stocko cooler if you dont want the attention from cops or you want a sleeper. My car made 172kw at the rear wheels on 11psi with this cooler with minimal mods including only a 3 inch catback exhaust and hks pod filter and this cooler. This cooler has very little lag and is very efficient. Selling due to bigger plans and upgrade to a front mount. This is a Melbourne Only Sale, so pick up is prefered. I have for sale a set of 4 Stern 17 inch rims for sale. These rims are 5 stud, 3 piece racing wheel, pretty sure they are 17x9. It was previously on a R33. Does have rubber on them but the rubber is not in road worthy condition. Currently has 225-45 rubber on them but, but from what i have been told as well the current size of 225 on the rims are very under sized for the rims, so I asume that you could probably go thicker upto 265's, and at current you can see the damage on the tyres that indicates the tyres are too undersized for the rims. These rims are great if you want to put some fat rubber on them and use them on track days. I am also pretty sure these rims are forged and 3 rims are in good condition, cause when i bought the car the rims had gutter damage, but in 2004 i had 3 of the rims rolled out and the gutter damage on the edges smoothed out. I want to get rid of these so I'm offering them at only $400 for the lot. All you need to do is put some new rubber on them and have the edges on the 4th wheel smoothed out(you can have that done for about 60 bucks from Neways wheels). Otherwise the wheels are in good nic. If you have any questions feel free to PM me, I have no other facts about the rims as they came with the car when i bought the car. This is only a local sale within Melbourne as I do not wish them interstate as it would cost too much. I am in Craigieburn so those interested should come and check them out and pick up if wanted. On the weekend I think i've snapped the clutch cable line...i remember looking under the car and there was also some oil coming from a cable of somesort very close to the gearbox so does that sound right to you guys, oh and also when i press the clutch pedal in its really soft and stays in and you can pull it back out really easy too? If that is the problem to have it fixed up what would i be lookin at in terms of cost to replace it and labour needed to...thanks...

Another question, the intercooler that we get in the whole package; piping and cooler...is that the cooler with the hybrid plaque on it or its just plain?

I talked to the guys that tuned the Yellow Supra...didn't realise it was owned by a chick though...no wonder it was kinda out of whack...she choose it herself i think...but that turbo was rated at 800 hp but they managed to only squeze 18psi out of that turbo...was really meant to run 30 pounds of boost...might be back for sydney final...

Epping is like literally north side of melbourne and ur on the east south i pretty sure so. I have been down that way before and i'd give you at least 45mins - 1hrs drive at least depending on traffic and which route you take. Cheers.

I am in need of a new metal cage for my hks pod filter. If anyone has the cage just lying around or your have old hks filter but are willing to sell just the cage i would be willing to take it off your hands. ps. if you are selling the whole filter pretty cheap then i might consider as well.

I understand, but looking over this laughtatrice website most of these cars are a laughing stock, but one picture that got me was this one with the mitsubishi eclipse. I mean for one thing the comment states quote "With all the money spend on making this car ugly, he could of gotten some decent performance parts". But if you look closely at the car you can see it has a FMIC. I mean are these guys trippin or something?!?! The paint job kinda makes it look like the eclipse from the first fast and furious though. But i guess the whole rice thing is more clearer to me...This site is still kinda stupid i think. I mean some people will do up their car only for the looks, cause whats the point of having a fast car when you can't even drive it fast on the roads??? Although being a skyline owner myself i don't intend on making my car the fastest car on the road. Not everyone is the same, some people do prefer looks over performance. Still i think that site is a bit weird. I mean the guys laughing at the cars look guys who would drive bloody V8's.

I'm still kinda new to SAU so could someone just kinda fill me in on what the hell people are going on about so called "RICE". From what i can gather though it sounds like it has something to do with stickers n accesories on ur car. I mean the Japs have their workshop stickers n brand (ie HKS, TRUST, etc...) stickers on their Kilowatt monsters so does that mean your against that? Still don't get some of you.

man its just taken me over 30 mins to read this thread, omg its going off! not sure what jamesh3 is going on about gaining 20kph higher on higher boost, cause my 2nd gear always max's out at 100 regardless of 7psi boost or 15 psi. I know this cause i sometimes forget to change gears. Love the feeling of being under boost tooooo much! anyways thats my 2 cents for this thread.

What brand is the cold air intake? and does it produce better results than say a ram pod filter? and where could i buy one from?

So if its the supspension, is it a serious problem at all? And how much did it cost you to get it fixed?
