Greenline.jp (insert any outside OZ part supplier) + import tax?
Drift Spec replied to Drift Spec's topic in South Australia
Maxx can the get the special edition one I am after for that same price? the A.P Engineering PowerFC is not a normal FC from Apexi, its an outsourced modified version and is more expensive. -
Car is going awesome Dean, i'm getting it put on the dyno next weekend to see what power it pulls with the blitz ECU. I have been driving the GA70 mostly but about to get that ready to advertise and sell as we speak. The new car has a dent in the bonnet where some tool head jumped on it in town, prob need to buy a new bonnet I think .... was like that when I got it. Other than that I am now just making a list of what I want to do to it already some parts on the way from greenline hehe. I am keen to get a new dump pipe fabricated, based on Martin's old Soarer one he got made.... but no idea who can do it for a reasonable price. Sigh the modding bug is back lol

Bl4cK32 OMG!!, that is an awesome price.... but very doubtful I will easily be able to find a JZA70 Supra AP PowerFC in Aus EnricoPalazzo Now that is what I like to hear!! -
Yep , ebay time With the PowerFC I have to get a special A.P Engineering version that is modified by them to fit my car.. it is a bit more expensive but that is where greenline.jp come into play , they totally rock price wise and service wise.
-
Cheers thanks for the info mate . Yeah from all the reading I have been doing it looks like it will be that way, oh well Oh that is true it does sound like a good excuse for a PFC

lol anyone?

Hi Everyone, I have a Blitz Access ECU in my car (was in it when I got the car), I am wondering what people can tell me about these things. So far I have read it is a direct replacement ECU that comes "pre-mapped" to enhance the factory maps, it also has boost and speed cut. You just unplug the standard 1JZ ecu and plug this one in... that is it. Does anyone know if these things are in any way tunable?, if they auto correct to any upgrades (eg exhaust, boost increase etc). Also if so does anyone know any tuners for these? Any help you could give me would be fantastic!, In the future I will be replacing it with a Power FC, but that is in the mid term plan and not something I really want to do now until I start upgrading (eg high-flow the turbo's etc)

Seriously why would you give people like this a depost? Have you seen their website (www.cityjapparts.com), all the spelling mistakes throughout the site, oh btw the site has not been updated since 25/2/2004... they are well gone. Oh one of my Supra's was owned by a friend of these guys, he sold it just before leaving to go back to China... this was in about October last year... he said he was not returning so yeah.

What did you get defect for mate?

ROFLLMAO !!! :spcartman That's gold.

Yep it was out near the Melbourne airport from the looks of it.

Did anyone see the Today/Tonight story on Hoons ? Just goes to show all the f'wits that do this are not the import owners, but good o'l Aussie vehicle drivers.... 99% of the cars where commodores, I did not see 1 import driver involved!!... the 1% was that stereo van. Why were there no import drivers you ask?... well because the majority of import drivers are sensible drivers and respect the vehicle they have!!! .. its the minority that f it for us. I hope the police read this post and realise who the moron drivers are out there!, please stop picking on imports and go after the real losers out there ... eg the VL/VN?VR/VS Commodre drivers that ruin it for everyone and can't do anything but burnouts. Why do I feel like im hitting my head against a wall though when I say all this. End rant! Rob.

Insurance companies should run for Office!!
Drift Spec replied to Drift Spec's topic in South Australia
Yeah which means nearly no one on this forum is technically covered as nearly every mod is "illegal" in SA. What I want to know is if they base your car on SA rules, or national rules. As in QLD my car is "Legal" , but in SA it "could" be classed as Illegal. We all know insurance companies will try to get out of a claim any way they can. -
ROFL I had to share this with you guys as it cracks me up. I recently contacted my insurance company for their advice on a certain mod I was looking at doing to my car, I did this to basically find out if they would cover me in an accident as this mod is "sometimes" considered Illegal, like in SA where everything pretty much is but in other states (QLD for example) I am pretty sure it is legal if they are bolt on and not the cruddy spacer plates some ppl have. BTW the ones I have are bolt on Jap and also have the part in the middle where you can put a wheel space ring in (goes onto centre of hub) so all the load is not on the bolts. This is the reply I get from my "trusty" insurance company.... maybe they should run for gov too!!..such a pollie answer and leaves me totally in the dark. Also if the statement below is correct, then 99% of our cars on the road are technically not insured being in SA!!.... very average if you ask me. Anyway here is the statement. Also as GFXMan told me, it is basically impossible to get a list of the laws!!!

Ahh yep yep that was him... I remember standing next to him at the petrol stn, made me look like a midget LOL... hella nice dude too. Damn those pic's are nice!.

Hi all again, I got a set of 20mm spacers tonight, but have come into a problem. I put them on the front , but once on 1 wheel actually sits a tiny bit out of the guard whilst the other side sits basically flush!! I will use the 20mm for the back so that is cool, and will maybe go 15mm for the front... D1 is ordering in some more. Has anyone ever come across this... its about 5mm difference between both sides I know my mates 180sx has the same issue at the rear (not running spacers tho).

Yep I'm there, I am up there every weekend anyway Keen to see what she can do on the dyno. But yeah where is it in Mt Barker?, industrial area?
-
Ok I am happy now , thanks Dean, Steve etc, been an awesome help as usual. Well tomorrow night I will be buying spacers at D1.
-
Hi Sam, nup wasnt me that called hehe. Hmm that is rather crazy how the wheel nuts can come loose tho! Is that on all spacers, or maybe the cheaper ones?... I would hope the Jap ones were decent enough so it wouldn't happen. If they do come loose then I dont blame them for being illegal LOL Also with this , what is to stop the the spacer from actually becoming loose if the wheel "can" come loose....... now that would be scary!
-
omg 100mm .... hmm na wont be going crazy like that Dean you had any probs with wheel nuts coming loose with yours? I'm going to go to D1 on Thursday so Rob can check the car out to see what size I need. They have Wheel spacers advertised for $150 on their website... I am hoping this is not each ?!? .. I was hoping it is per pair... Steve can you confirm?

Yep got PM, tks for that, I hope I can get the same when I get around to doing it .
