  1. Bax, that would be great to speak to him. If u've got the link either post it or e-mail me with it
  2. best bet from removin the badges off my s3 executive is to heat them a bit with a hair dryer or a paint stripping gun (b careful with the latter as it can end up doin as it says!). this will heat the double sided tape that they used up and make it come off easier. if bits get left behind, get some metho or something like that and it balls up when u rub it (sorta like eraser bits when u rub out pencil marks on paper)
  3. Hey guys need an opinion - lookin to get a turbo and manifold for my RB30 (until i can afford to do my RB20DET+5spd conversion). In regards to mods i want to keep it reasonably stock for insurance purposes (so they dont slug me too bad). ive already got a k&n pod , but my problem lies with the dual fuel setup. the gas reg sits halfway up the intake pipe. if i installed a turbo kit, i'd probably end up blowin gas into the turbo, thru the intercooler then in, which in my mind doesnt seem that safe or reliable. What reccomendations do you make? Basically i want to know at this point 1. will the standard internals (compression ratio included) cope with a reasonably stock turbo kit (basically pinchin a kit from a mate's VL Turbo)? 2. will i need to chance the ECU? 3. I need to keep gas/petrol. what way can i get around the reg problem (cos i cant move it over the other side of the engine bay as its got limited movement to where it is now)?
  4. ive got about 160+ photos from the show...............i can do a cd for anyone interested also i was impressed with the number of cars..............pity there were no R31s though.......give me a few years and i'll work on it!!!!
  5. Ive had my 1990 Series III for about 2 1/2 months, it has 293,000 on the clock and its been on gas all it's life. The head gasket went the other week, but it was a cheap repair cos it had been well taken care of. Make sure you pick one up that's had regular services as they run reasonably quiet even if overdue for an oil change. From what ive been told, the autos are a bit leaky (mine leaks around the reverse switch) but other than that they're reasonably strong beasts. If you dont want the VL "crumpledore", these are the beasts to go for, partly cos they're a bit lighter too
  6. Hey guys Seen a few pics out there of R31 Series 3 front bumpers with various different mods that i wouldnt mind doin myself. I'd really like to cut out the ugly slats and number plate mounting from the centre opening (as my plate is now mounted on the RH side under the repeater) to give a bit of a cleaner appearance to the front end. I have also seen side ducts (either one on the LH side under the repeater or both sides) on some front ends.....are these from the imported models or is it custom. I just need some ideas for better airflow and a good spot for a cold air feed for my pod (ive got a bit of 2 1/2" pipe from a suzuki swift intake going from the central opening to behind the headlight, but it keeps moving around and falling out cheers guys matty t
  7. Cheers for the info so far guys...........Its good to know that i can get some people out there who take me seriously. Its almost the way to go now, my biggest thing will be is if i have to do anything to the ECU or not
  8. Hey guys need some opinions. eventually in my R31 i want to run an RB20DET on straight gas, but i cant afford the new motor at the moment (as ive just spent 800 bucks gettin the head re-machined after a blown gasket - ouch). I am considering having the standard RB30 built for straight gas operation (ie pissing off the whole fuel system, gettin a bigger tank, removing the fuel tank and puttin the gas tank under the boot floor). Any ideas if this has been done yet, and if it is a good idea to do. I know i have to get brass valves and shit like that so it doesnt stuff up majorly, but im tryin to get rough pricing ideas cos no-one in adelaide wants to take me too seriously. i mean, they're more interested in poxy s13 silvias than a sleeper lookin 6 that could have a stomper of a motor underneath it (i apologise to any decent silvia owners). Anyone who can help let me know Matty T
