  1. I almost bought one of the 2nd Generation RX7's i really love the old school 80's shape of them which was inspired by the porsche 944. I've done alot of research on rotaries over the years and I intend to buy one sometime in the future. There's nothing wrong with them, they're just misunderstood by alot of people, and for that matter mechanics too. This is where poor maintenance and neglect can lead to engines dying early. Luckily though most of the early problems with the motors were ironed out by the 60's/70's.
  2. True, but the exhaust manifold/turbo suffers alot more heat than brakes and differential. If brakes and diff's needed such devices to cool down then every performance car would have them, including N/A vehicles. However For the record I personally do tend to take the last couple of kilometres easy to cool these other componants down after more 'spirited' driving.
  3. I'm under the impression they extend turbo life. Keep hot oil circulating, not sitting on the bearings in the turbo which can cause them to deteriorate over time. Anyway, I have a GReddy.
  4. I also heel and toe, i used to just do it occasionally for practice but now its kinda second nature... zymotic: its braking and rev matching when slowing down for a corner etc, you use your toe/ball of foot to apply the brakes and rev match your down shift with your heel. well thats what i do anyway...
  5. yes i asked this question a while ago i was sure you could get an aftermarket idler bearing from somewhere. i'd also like to know the part number!
  6. Try Cleaning your AFM and Idle Sensor with some contact cleaner. try searching for a thread with instructions.
  7. Haha, If only i could afford dynaudio gear! so far the Vibe and Hertz price range seem to be the best for my money.
  8. Thanks for the Replies, I Mainly listen to trance and occasionally a bit of RnB etc, I was actually looking at vibe speakers about 3 years ago i don't think they were all that well known back then. do you reguarly stock these Fhrx? also would they suit my taste in music?
  9. Im planning a system for my 94 gts-t i've decided on a nakamichi CD400 head unit, but can't yet make up my mind on speakers. Should i go for nakamichi speakers also? i haven't heard anything about them so im not too sure what they're like could someone tell me? Would i be better off going with another brand such as MB Quart or Rockford fosgate? im just after a nice SQ setup, the car won't be put in any comps. Thanks in advance
  10. Thanks, how thick does the spacer need to be? will the speaker still fit behind the standard door skin?
  11. Can anyone tell me how much room there is in the stock front speaker location to mount replacement speakers? Im trying to find out if there is enough depth for a pair of 6.5" MTX thunder6000 component speakers in the stock location. the site says the depth is 2.71" and i'd like to know if the speaker will skrew straight into the stock mounting position?
  12. mine was on the outside, seemed to have some sort of film over the head lights but the toothpaste got it off really well.... i guess it was like plaque or somethin lol.
  13. mine were like this also, all u need is a cloth and some toothpaste and rub them, it takes a little bit of effort but now they've come up like new.
  14. any chance of some bomber jackets being made with these logos?
  15. Yeh, mines going in for the service this week, it seemed to have just started squeeking as soon as the clock rolled over to 100k... not one km before then... My friend had the exact same problem on his silvia about 2 weeks ago and the mechanic re-packed it with grease, so far its going ok, but this is really just a band aid cure... i'd rather get a new bearing, but it is hard to justify paying $290 for a bearing which otherwise would only cost around $10...
  16. Does anyone know if you can get an aftermarket Idler Bearing for the RB25DET? If not could someone tell me the bearing number as I work at an engineering firm and im sure there should be an equivelant bearing at alot cheaper price. Thats hoping Nissan Havent designed their own one-off bearing for this... Thanks Guys.
