  1. what is the size of the boost gauge in mm is the fuel pump straight bolt on for R32
  2. I just got of the phone with one of the guys from Australan Distributors for RedLine Oils and he put a whole new spin on the situation. His opinion is that more slipping in the automatic gearbox will give you a smoother ride BUT it also increases the gearbox wear. He strongly recommends the Racing ATF, with no slipping additives, for the better shift response and loger life of the gearbox as long as i don't mind the jerk between the gear changes, which would feel like a manual driven car. This is a 180 degree spin around from what i was thinking. His name is John. AUSTRALIAN DISTRIBUTORS – Red Line Oils Pty Ltd, Ph: 1300 88 1213 Email: [email protected] Any thoughts on this?
  3. paully: Is this for the Auto gerbox?
  4. I went with Heavy shockproof for the diff and its fine. I was told if i get any clanking noise from the diff to come back and they'll put some slipping additive to fix the problem - but there was no need for that. As for the Auto gearbox, i haven't done it yet. I haven't had time and i'm still undecided on what to use. I was gonna go with Hi Temp for the piece of mind or Racing oil for that extra oomph but not sure of the side effects. Has anyone used any of them???
  5. I just contacted the Unigroup abt what time do they open and if they work weekends, via email coz i couldn't get thru to them by phone, and i got this response: Our weekday hours are 6:30pm-10pm and our weekend hours are 1pm-6pm Saturdays. Thank you Valent Unigroup Engineering Chassis Dyno Facility Unit 17/17A Amax Ave Girraween, Sydney www.unigroup.com.au Phone: (02) 9631 2470 Fax: (02) 9631 8306 Hmmm, do you find it weird? I don't know of anyone else with working hours like that.
  6. This was something i was looking at when i got my R32 four door but everyday i'm less interested of doing it. I like things that are different and doing this conversion will make your car look like just another R32. It would probably cost me less than that as i'm already getting a custom made aftermarket bumper and alredy have the tail lights but .... not sure if i wanna do it. funkymonkey: what other bits and pieces are needed for the conversion?
  7. I'm going to change the diff and the auto gearbox oil in the next few days and i'm just wondering what other ppl have used or think what would be better. I've decided to go with RedLine products as i dont mind spending a lil bit extra for the quality. At the moment i'm thinking heavy shockproof for the diff and i haven't decided which one for the gearbox. I'm thinking between the Hi Temp ATF and the Racing ATF. Hi Temp would give me smoother gear changes than the Racing one but for the better shift performance i'm probably leaning towards the Racing ATF. They say that the Racing one doesn't have any sliping additives so i'm not sure if it would be recommended for the R32 automatic gearbox. Help please!!
  8. I just had done my exhaust on the weekend. 3" turbo back with i think 5" muffler n 4 " tip. I got it done at liverpool exhaust. I would definitively recommend them, very friendly service, great work and fairly cheap. I cost me $1000 for the mild steel pipes and stainless steel muffler. The sound is great, loud and rumbly. At the beginning I thought it was too loud but I’m getting use to it. Now I get 3-4 psi extra boost. If you go ask to speak to Jimmy and say Ned with 4 door R32 sent you.
  9. let me know on the size when you can size matters ))
  10. whats the size in mm? might be interested. thanx
  11. i saw the car yesterday. from about 200m back view it looked like a R32 convertible so i had to drive all the way around liverpool to get into that street and have a better look, but when i got there i was shocked. it was burnt. it's yellow with QLD plates. looked like it had s13 wheels or something similar. stockish looking.
  12. the speedo cable connects straight into the speedo clock on the dash. my speedo clock had a crack on the connector and the speedo was way off. i had to replace the clock.
  13. Does anyone have any info on the performance of these manifolds.
  14. And another syd west place: MRC Dyno performance - Castle Hill. I agree Abo Bob and i guess thats the point of this thread, if not happy with the current one you can find the alternatives here. In my case i'm looking for an alternative for UAS. Might try Unigroup, i heard only good things about them.
  15. Also in Syd west: Insight motorsport - Ardnel Park
  16. Make sure your speedo wire isn't cut which removes the 180 km/h speed limiter. I had the wire #53 cut and i kept ketting flatspots towards the end of 2nd and 3rd gear. If unsure the easiest way to check it is try to hit 200 km/h as some speedos are not 100% correct and it might show you 180 km/h + when doing 170 km/h or so. Oh yeah make sure you do it on a private road or the track :innocent:
  17. It has a speedo cable.
  18. Thanx benm. Has anyone dealt with Rallyequip at Pendle Hill? What are they like?
  19. Thanx Ben. On the end its not what you know but who you know ))
  20. Ah sorry, i thought you ment spend the 500 + on something else instead of the exhaust. My bad. I tried calling John but he wasn't in and Glen is not sure about the prices. Thanx.
  21. I'm not sure if we understood each other. At the moment i have the stock exhaust and i want to put 3" mandrel bent, mild steel, turbo back exhaust. I belive that would increase the power. Right?
  22. Not really on budget GTST but again i'd rather spend less than more, As for s steel i don't really understand the need for s steel all the way.
  23. Where are they located? What would be a main difference between mild steel ans s steel apart from how long it will last and s steel being more expensive?
  24. Hi, I'm planning to get my full exhaust done in the next few days. Can anyone recommend a good exhaust place in syd? Liverpool exhaust centre - are they any good? The quted me $1100 fur turbo back - 3" - mild steel, with cannon.
