Ok, thanks guys. Ive only had experience with RB26 engines, and i was starting to worry. I just spent an hour making a container filled with oil to store them in! Im such an idiot!! I was wondering why i couldnt see any holes for the oil to go into the buckets. Noob!

GDay, So, when your all talking about lifters, do you mean hydraulic buckets (are they the same thing?) as in an RB26 head. I feel like a bit of a noob, but ive got my head apart at the moment, and got a bit concerned while reading this thread about proper storage of the buckets. Obviously ive gotta keep them in order and also keep the shims with their respecttive buckets, but whats the best way to store them for a couple of months? I also dont understand the problems that can result from improper storage (as whats happened above^^ bleeding lifters??). Ive just never heard of it before. Thanks, Shaun.

Thanks mate, i had a read of that thread but i couldnt make out the photos (sorry guilt toy). So i just insert the Tomie one on top of the standard one thats towards the front of the block? Would it be better to remove the standard one and replace it with the Tomie? Sorry for all the questions; feel like a bit of a noob but i just want to be absolutely sure. Shaun.

Yeah, i was quoted for an R32 Rb26. You're a ledgend Mik!! I've actually bought an R33 GTR kit before and i couldnt remember paying anywhere near $570. I wonder why the R32 kit is so much more expensive?? Anyway, thanks. Ill price the ACL kit too; but where is ACL? Shaun.

Just double checking here. I pulled my engine down the other day and noticed two holes in the block of the same size. One had a restrictor in it and the other was blanked off all together (see pics). Im just wondering if the one thats blanked off is a modification done by a previous owner, or is it like that from the factory? Also, either way, should i leave it as is or replace the restricor with the smaller Tomie item that comes with my head gasket. Thanks, Shaun.

GDay, Just rang Hornsby Nissan for a price on an RB26 engine overhaul gasket kit. $570! I was just wondering if anyone knew of any alternatives such as non genuine aftermarket kits etc. Im trying to save some money. Thanks, Shaun.

Ill have to do it in a few days time, as im working til tuesday and the cooler is at my parents place. It has three anchor points (one middle top, and two at the bottom) which take 8mm bolts, Its a standard gtr size, bar and plate construction, ive polished it on an 8inch bench polisher, no damage. In the photo, it looks like there are heaps of bent fins for some reason, however this is not the case. It performs really well, as i had inlet and outlet temp sensors on my IC piping. The inlet temps were never much above ambient with a GT30 at 19psi. Shaun 0414972596
