  1. So did you have the recommended Kaaz oil in it before you changed to the Penrite? Ive heard that the Penrite seems to quieten them down a bit. When you say "a few noises", do you mean clunk!, clunk! around tight corners in car parks, or just slight grinding noises. Thanks, Shaun.
  2. Some more photos. I handed over a deposit for a bike today, so im pretty keen to sell this now.
  3. Ive got a kaaz 1.5 way with about 1500kms on it, and im not happy with the clunks and grinding noises either. Im thinking of pulling it out and putting a standard one back in. I changed the oil after run in with more kaaz oil, and the diff became a bit quieter, but still feels as though the rear cradle is dragging on the road when in car parks. I f**kin hate it at the moment.
  4. Thanks for the kind words Richard. Im a bit too obsessive about the car, and this is one of the main reasons for the sale; i dont know when to stop pouring money in. Im on to my third photo album now, which is kinda wierd i suppose. I just took some fresh photos on Gosford waterfront yesterday afternoon, so ill try to upload them tonight. Cartman, the garage floor is epoxy and it stays pretty clean by itself. I just mop it every now and then. Its awesome stuff; only cost about $160 for the lot (55sq.m), and you just mix it up, roll it on, and thats it. Cheers.
  5. Bump for Christmas. Screw the financial crisis, you only live once! 700hp for mid 20k is cheeeep.
  6. Do it. I'd hate to think what the diff would be like if i skipped this procedure. Its a bitch now.
  7. My coils just went and the symptom was misfiring under high boost. The car would rev to red line under low boost (10 psi), but anything over 12 psi and it would misfire like a machine gun. New coils fixed the problem and its running better than ever. As i understand it, the coils degrade over time and start misfiring at progressively lower boost pressures as they wear. Shaun.
  8. Just put new aftermarket coils and new Federal 595 tyres on. The car isnt missing a beat. 0414972596 Shaun.
  9. Ive got an R32 with the same package, and i have adjusted the circlips with the shock in the car. I found it pretty difficult to do though; its a two man job because youve gotta get one person with a long bar to lever the spring up so that it compresses and takes the load off the circlip, while the other bloke uses circlip pliers to reposition the circlip. It might be easier for you though, as i was raising the car, and i had the compress the spring much more than you will. If the 34 is similar, its only 3 bolts and the shock is out of the car, so its not the end of the world if they have to be removed for adjustment. I reckon it would take an hour to remove, adjust, replace all four. Try to do it in the car though, its pretty basic, you just need more hands. Shaun.
  10. Im not sure why you'd block them off. Ive heard of compressor wheels flying off due to the reversion created by doing such a thing. One of the nuts that holds the wheel on actually went throught the windscreen of another car like a bullet. This was on a 1500HP drag car though. BOV's are there so that when the throttle snaps shut during a gear change (and the compressor wheel is still spinning and forcing air into the plenum), the excess air can vent out the blow off valve. It typically goes back into the inlet before the turbo (plumb back BOV), but the highly audible ones vent to atmoshpere (illegal). Hope that helps. Your dumb mates are as you say, dumb. Shaun.
  11. All details can be found in my for sale link:
  12. Ive got one for sale near Gosford. Its in good nick with no accident history, low k's etc. Its a heavily modified monster, however, so not sure if it'll suit you.
  13. Theyre on 17 inch rims, and no, theyre not for sale. Just the tyres. Thanks Dave, ive still got your offer in mind. Ill give it a bit more time yet, as im in no massive hurry. If you met me half way, however, they could be yours today! Shaun.
  14. Ive just put some Federal 595RSR's on the rear of my 350kw skyline (i also put some 595RS's on the front), and the grip they provide is phenominal. Ive never experienced such a grippy tyre, and the increased corner speed actually caused some oil surge problems with my engine (its fixed now though). My standard coils are also misfiring under the increased load placed on the engine (the rears would just light up before). So ive opened up a whole new can of worms with the use of these tyres, so im gonna sell them before i break some drive shafts! It sounds stupid i know, but i can afford to stuff around with these problems at the moment; but these tyres would be awesome on a suitably powered car where the increased grip didnt push the limits of the drivetrain. Maybe im being paranoid, i tend to do that. Anyway, while ive got your attention, ill plug my tyres: 235x45x17 RS's Treadwear of 180 - 100% tread 255x40x17 RSR's Treadwear of 140 - 100% tread RRP is $1190, im asking for $900 for the set. Theyve done 100km maximum. Theyve still got the little rubber wobbly things on them and the paint markers on the tread! I can provide pics if interested. Shaun 0414972596. End of plug.
