  1. Hey Mate, Don't suppose you know what sort of speed you were carrying at 6k? Have you got the stock rear end in it? Cheers Rob
  2. Could be a dodgy earth. Other than that, nope, can't solve it, take it to a sparkie! its not worth stuffing with if you're likely to get rear ended.
  3. Window rubbers are about $20 each from any nissan dealer, you just have to supply model/chassis numbers and be prepared for plebs who don't know what a dr30 is.
  4. He can buy mine for that much!! It only needs a couple little bits and pieces... diff brakes gearbox paint door rubbers steering wheel more paint interior retrim radiator support needs to be straightened headlight and grill need replacing lots of tidying. yeah, I'd be happy to let it go for 12k ;-)
  5. ah thats ok then :-) thought you might have been insulting DR's there for a moment! /me takes his gloves off
  6. whats a 1300kg brick?
  7. Thats sacrelige!!!! Why on earth would you want to!!! put the money into the fj and blow all these little rbs off ;-)
  8. Hey Guys, Just an update, got the front and rear pad numbers, can get pads no worries, can hopefully get the discs machined. HOWEVER...the handbrake cable is seized solid, and new ones are $121.75 for the left and $108.10 for the right. Has anyone here got a handbrake cable that isn't ****ed that isn't on a car that they wish to sell or something? oh and would you believe that the guy from spare parts in Nissan didn't know what an FJ20 is?!!!!
  9. I havn't checked but I'd be a little surprised if they were the same diameter, feel free to prove me wrong though. I can't see hilux discs going on with being redrilled and whatnot as they're a 6 stud (on the 4wd's). Why the honda accord calipers? The backs are going to be a bitch because of the handbrake on the caliper IMHO. What about r32/33 skyline or sylvia discs? they're 4 stud, I have no idea how close to fitting they'd go though. or get a set of good discs/pads/fluid for the current set up. Cause I find the standard ones, even in the absolutely stuffed condition mine are, aren't too bad. Put on a good set of braided hoses and I reckon they should crank. Or stop you from cranking even.
  10. alright thanks, I've got the spare parts guy looking into it, hopefully he can come up with something! and hopefully he can find a listing for the back cause they are really stuffed!
  11. they have a listing for fj's?! w00t! I coudn't get decent bendix's for the supra. Stupid bendix. I put in standard bendix pads..and took them back out that same afternoon and turfed them. That still doesn't tell me why to run blacks in the rear! haha
  12. Is it Endless that do the Greenstuff? I had greenstuff in the front of my supra, and they were EBC. or have things changed. Why black stuff in the rear? Aren't they the higher end ones, ie need a lot more heat to work? I've read most of the posts, but after 20 something pages it got a bit hard to focus and I think I skipped bits..my bad... I'm going to end up pulling the brakes out and tracing them...I can see it coming.
  13. awesome, thanks Adam_RSX, is that front or rear?
  14. got a question for all you dr30 guru's...the brake pads, are they the same as another model or something 'cause I'm having hells own job finding out anything about them. Someone said they thought (the fronts I'm assuming) are the same as the ones from a model of 720, anybody know any more than this? thanks.
  15. Hey all, Just joined, I've got an '82 DR30, fj20t (of course) needs looots of tender loving care, just blew the box a couple of weeks ago, its got a box out of a 720 ute in it now :-) I had one lying around...just to add my 2 cents worth to the speed in second gear thing...I got 130kph at about 8000rpm :-) and it didn't seem to have any intention of slowing down. Can't do it now though, only got about 0-90 now..gets there really fast though!! Catch you all around.
