  3. Yeah i think its $10, i won $50 on the roulette table from the join up money
  4. its a series 1 motor. i have tried nissan (said i had to buy a loom). I'll give that japanese site a try. thanks.
  5. I've been trying to get one of these clips (shown in pic). Its the electrical plug to the air flow meter in an r33. I was told i would have to buy a whole loom to get one.....so i'm looking for an alternative.
  6. I had this same problem, it was easy to do. It was just a matter of undoing whatever is in the way of taking of the cover to reveal the coil packs. Then taking out each coil pack and taping it up. Once you start undoing things you will get the idea. And if you are worried take a few pics as you are doing it so you remember what goes where. Hope this helps
  7. Hey guys, i'm from newy too.....well lake maquarie. I'll prob come in on mon as well. anyone up for a cruise down to the central coast on the 15th of May? we could drive down to the haven via swansie way
  8. Yeah i am looking at geting the "low" springs How does your car sit now? do you have a pic?
  9. mine had 205/50/16 all round, but i think they came out with 55 series
  10. yeah after measuring how low the car will be with super lows...ie edge of gaurds lower than the tyres, i think i will go with the low's. i still want to be able to drive the thing after all
  11. i just measured from the centre of the wheel to the edge of the gaurd, rear is 370mm and the front is 365. i'm thinking now that 50mm lower will be a bit to much for everyday driving. any comments?
  12. thanks, well i guess i will be getting that rear camber kit. do you really need to adjust the front if lowering 50mm? or do you think it would be ok? I can get the king springs cheap, so thats what i'll be getting. just have to decide on low or super low. The shocks i will shop around but i will look into the bilsteins ones. cheers
  13. yeah i didn't think 50mm's lower would be much of a problem....will have to look in to getting new shocks as well then. Also should get the camber adjusted. Anyone know of something other than whiteline kits? I know they are good, i just want another option to choose from. cheers
  14. I was looking at lowering my r33 gtst with some king springs..... i can get the "lows" (35mm) but i wanted a bit lower...i was told that king springs recommend not putting the "super low" (50mm) springs on because it would be too low, causing the car to be hitting its bump stops?? is this true? the wheels are 235/40/18 anyone have a better idea....coil overs would be nice but are a bit out of my budget. i thought about 40-50mm lower would be nice without being too extreme and dumb.
  15. ummm, just to get a full understanding of this......the thiefs hit the button inside the car (next to the power window switches) or is there some other sort of switch inside the door? Like whatever it is that locks the passenger door when you get to 25 k/hr? :headspin: I agree with using a clublock as well as the alarm...i'm sure the clublock and blinking red light would turn away most theifs.
  16. yeah can't wait till i get it done, air temp was 48 so a FMIC will definatly help.
  17. Yeah, the next engine mods were going to be a power fc and front mount. The air fuel ratio was really eratic, but i was told that can be faily common, and a new computer would fix it anyway. So i'm pretty keen. Do you think its worth getting the hand controller? I was looking at the hybrid intercooler kits, how do you rate them? I'm going to take it to the drags in a couple of weeks to also see what the car can do before any major upgrades. 11 psi seems the go, but i could push it to 14psi before blowing up the turbo right? or is that just a little bit close to the edge? The dyno run was done on Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer, which i was told is pretty accurate, but yeah they can vary a bit.
  18. Hey, i put my r33 gtst on the dyno today to see what it does. The only things done to the car are a pod filter and a 3" mandrel bent exaust and dump pipe, and a blitz bov. Is 153.7kw (205.96hp) a good reading for these mods and stock internals? i was told 130kw was about average, so i was pretty impressed with the results.
  19. i just used some regular cut and polish....worked great
  20. My r33 used to run rough under load, around 5000rpm, and it ended up being hair line cracks in the front of the coil packs. after wrapping them in electrical tape, i havent had any problems with them. This is a common problem with r33's
  21. well i pulled off the airflow meter and the sensor in it was filthy, so i blasted it with carby cleaner then after it was dry i gave it another blasting with electronic cleaner. Also cleaned the mesh on each end. now its running good, so try cleaning your airflow meter if anyone is having similar problems damn, glad that is fixed, time for a beer
  22. I just disconnected the airflow meter and reconnected and the car started fine, but when i rev it it stalls, then when i start it again it starts dropping the revs then reving back up again... So this could be my problem i think... A bit strange that the problem usually only occured when the car was cold. dodgy connecter or dirty sensor maybe?
  23. I've searched the forums and can't really find my problem... For awile now my r33 gtst has been playing up when cold, the car will start but then will stall straight away, or run rough and then stall. But then be ok if i kept trying and warmed it up. It was only doing this sometimes but lately it has got worse and started running rough and stalling even when hot. sometimes this problem wouldn't happen for a couple of weeks?? The Blitz BOV i have on it was getting stuck open and shut, so i pulled it off last night and cleaned it, put it back on and the car ran fine. So i thought i had solved it, but this morning i went to start the car and the same thing is happening Maybe this was just a coincidence that the car ran fine last night, cause i put back on the original BOV a minute ago and still no go (original came with the car seperate so not sure if its good, but it looks ok) would a dodgy bov gasket cause problems? ( ie a bit flat or squashed) Could it be a stuck throttle body, or stuffed air flow meter???? I am a bit lost now and not sure what to check next, somebody please help
