  1. I got some of this from Waxit Yesterday http://www.waxit.com.au/products/poorboys-all-purpose-cleaner-apc-946ml-3-78l Was really good stuff. Has just enough foam with agitation to make removal of dirt easy. Spray agitate wipe away. Didnt have a super awesome smell like some other products but good value for money and can be used on almost anything. Cheers, Mav
  2. Hi Nicr4wks, I was running with the distribution of AMMO in Australia. Unfortunattly when it was first released we were not seeing a high enough volume and shipping was too expensive for our volumes. I would suggest that the cheapest option would be for you to purchase directly from the ammo website. You will find that the cost of the suff online is the same price if not cheaper Cheers, Matt www.upcd.com.au
  3. Been a while so I might throw up a few of a S5 I did recently. I Foamed the car down with AMMO Foam. Clayed 2 Stage Paint Correction with Menzerrna 2000 & 4000 Applied Ammo Skin and Ammo Creme
  4. Arts awesome effort on the 300 they are a HUGE car!! And even harder in black Great results! Top work on getting a completed photo as well. Mine were all taken nearing darkness as the car took so long to complete!
  5. Hey Mate, I have been using the AMMO range. They have just released a new tire regimen and its fantastic. I have some pics here of a 2006 Hilux. I will try and get you some pics up soon. Here is a video from Larry using the products www.ammony.com
  6. Detailed a Porsche Panamera Turbo. An Amazing Car. It was a US import and had a lot of fall out on the car and poor maintenance of the paint. Didnt get any good shots pre detail due to it belting with rain and iphone poor quality. Process: Foam Wash Wheel Treatment Clay Bar 2.5 Stage Polish - IP2000 Purple Pad - IP2000 White Pad - SF4000 Blue Pad AMMO Skin Sealant AMMO Creme Huge thanks to the guys at RDA for giving me the opertunity to detail such an amazing car. Check out their web site for all your brake needs.
  7. This thread is awesome! Great to see so much interest in keeping our cars and other clean. Just a quick one of a 35 I detailed recently. I washed, Clayed and Corrected light scratches and swirls from the car. I completed a 2 stage correction with IP200 and SF4000. I have also applied a layer of AMMO Skin and AMMO Crème for protection.
  8. WOW What an exceptional example of a GTR! Your efforts are exceptional! Your attention to detail is outstanding and your results have shown this in every photo. Your engine bay is clean enough to eat off awesome! One of your most valuable posts is where you have mentioned reapplication. This is sooo important. All the effort you have put into making it look fantastic can be all wasted if you don’t re-apply your protection, and keep applying it often. Great thread and looking forward to seeing more progress shots. Cheers Matt
  9. ARTZ, Whare you are saying here is not a bad thing, and putting a Wax only on a car instead of applying a sealant will provide a level of protection. The problem is the protection will not be long lasting. You may find that (depending on how you use your car) the wax will last for maybe 6, 8 weeks? If you keep re-applying the wax on a regularly basis say ever 4 weeks then you will never notice a change. The wax provides a high level of shine and in some respect an element of protection. The benefit to applying a Sealant is that is a lot stronger and you will get a longer period of protection. Also it’s an additional layer between the elements and your paint/clear. I would be suggesting applying your sealant and then keep applying a wax over the top of that. Using AMMO as an example Skin has been designed to be applied and then the ability to reapply over the top of its self. This enables you to build up the layers. It’s ideal to apply these layers 24 hours after each other but again this is an ideal world so if you left it over night then the second layer would still stick ok. Then you can apply the AMMO Crème (WAX) over the top of the layers of Skin. The other thing to keep in mind when you are polishing down a scratch is that you are cutting away a layer of paint / clear each time you do it. Sometime you need to make a judgment call on how much are you going to cut and is it worth taking out the scratch vs how much paint will be left. Now if you have a Paint Gauge meter you can work this out no worries but if you don’t just keep in mind how old your car is and if it has ever had a respray etc. Cutting it down to the point where it's almost gone and then applying a sealant or wax over the top will fill in what’s left. Although this isn't the perfect and ideal solution sometimes it's the best call to make. Last thing you want to be doing is cutting it down to a metal panel. This all comes back to "it doesn’t matter what you use as long as you use it offer." So you keep applying a wax then it will keep that smaller scratch protected along with the rest of the car. Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers. Matt
  10. Gary, Great results. As the guys have said make sure you always wax last. If you are using a sealant, you would want to apply that first and then apply the wax over the top of that once it cures. Also dont feel the need to compound or polish your car every weekend. You should only need to do it once and then maintain it with wax and sealants. If you keep cutting the paint with compounds and polish's you will run out of paint so just keep that in mind. I have also attached a video of Larry claying a car for you. Its very simple bit of lube and left to right motion and you are set. I use soap while doing my clay as its a much cheaper alternative than using a spray wax which is also just as good. depends how much of the car you need to clay.
  11. Hey mate, Just reading through your post. Just thought I would try and shoot over some advice. What you are looking to do sounds like you have the right approach and your last post is the most important of all You want to go through the above process which GTR -34A has noted these steps are correct, but there are a few things to keep in mind. When you Polish or Compound your car you are cutting down the paint / clear which is on the car. You only need to do this is when you have scratches or swirl marks on the paint which need to be corrected. If your paint is in good condition then this step wouldn't be needed. This brings me to your last post. How often should you compound your car. As little as possible. If you are applying a Wax and ideally a Sealant Often then you shouldn't have a need to correct your paint. I personally use AMMO and find it to be fantastic. Also keep in mind that if you use Clay Bar on a car which has had a Wax and or Sealant Applied to the car then it will remove it as well as any other dirt which may have been sitting on top of it. Also if you are applying Wax and Sealant often then the need to Polish your car also shouldn't be needed either. This of course is perfect conditions but you can reduce then need with good care while washing the car too. I would suggest correct your paint and get it to an optimal condition and the protect it. Also don't forget to drive the car as well Let me know if you want me to go into any more detail about how to correct the paint or anything else. More than happy to answer any questions you have.
  12. I would suggest www.waxit.com.au They have a great product range and highly recommend their service You don't want to get a poor quality towel or you will find that it may scratch and they will "fill up" too quick. Cheers, Matt
  13. Hey Daniel, Long time. Mate you should check out some of the Drive Clean Video's by Larry you would like them!
  14. Jack, Yea the grades are I would say not the most important of things. If you have already corrected the paint then in theory if you are applying your sealant / wax often then the buildup of contaminants shouldnt happen and you shoudlnt need to repeat the clay. There are some isntances where this won't happen but in an ideal world that would be the case. Cheers, Matt
  15. Hey Guys, Sorry for the late replies. Been a busy weekend. Jack Terry is spot on with his process. In regards to the clays I personally use Clay Magic. I have been using it for years and always had great results with it. May not be the cheapest on the market but does a good job. You want to have different grades of clay to cater for different condition. So for example a roof bonnet and boot are going to have a lot more fall out sitting on them than for eg a door. So you will use a stronger / stickier clay on those areas and then a fine grade on a door. As noted before clay will remove wax's and sealants so if you ever have to clay an area which has protection applied remember to reapply your protection. Also if you have a car which when you rub your hand over it is a little rough but doesn't feel like sand paper then a fine clay will be sufficient to remove the contaminants. But if it does feel like sand paper then something a bit stickier will do the trick. Also Jack check out another of Larry's Video's. He talks quickly about clay and shows you how to use it in case you haven't seen it in depth before.
  16. Terry you are dead right. Comparing one car to another shows that looking at the car it may look the same but cool tools like what you have displayed there really show up whats felt and how much room you have for error.
  17. Hey Jack, Yea I hear you best thing is too look for a better product which wont do the same thing. Let me know if you want more details. Ok so should you be polishing a new car. Well in theory you shouldnt have to do it. If the car has been protected from day one using a wax or sealant then you shodulnt get swirl marks etc in the paint. Also using incorrect washing techniquest can lead to the introduction of swirls. If you are finding them then yes I would be suggesting to get the swirls out and start building up the layers of protection now. Swirls are very light scratches from basicly the cloth which is washing the car. It may have bits of dirt in it heaps of things can cause it. Also keep in mind the term polishing is a loose term too. You can buy a polish which will "FILL" in the swirl marks and hide them so you cant see them. This isn't fixing the problem only hiding it. You really want to be correcting the paint by using a form of cutting compound to restore the paint. Now new paint you shouldnt need a harsh compoud just a very light polish which has little cutters in it. Sorry this is a bit confusing. After you finish polish this is where you want to apply a layer of sealant and start applying wax. I would always recommend using a sealant that doesnt have a wax in it and a wax that doesnt have a sealant in it. Both products have a purpose and you want them to be seperate. Sealant is for protection and Wax is for your shine. Always good to keep that in midn too. Although as you would have seen in Larry's video above even the AMMO Skin has a great shine to it. Its just when you apply Creme you get amazing depth as well which really shows up the car. Hope this helps.
  18. Jack you are soo right about Larry he is SUPER passionate about his job and loves what hes does. He's also a top guy more than happy to help. Jack you GF's 86 that's not cool especially on a new car. The water marks on the car could be from the product which was applied and it has kind burnt away in the sun if that makes sense. If you want to talk about getting it corrected let me know and I'm more than happy to see what I can do to help you out. Also if you are interested in AMMO let me know and I can help you out with getting some of that too. Cheers Matt
  19. Hey Jack, Its just a normal YouTube link. Should be ok? Can you see www.youtube.com ?
  20. Hey Guys, I know this is a Skyline but watching the restoration of such a pricless car is amazing! So my buddy over in the US has detailed one of the rarest Ferrari's around. The car is worth $1,000,000 and was in some serious need of restoration. Preventing your car from getting to this condition is always important as Larry talks about in his video sometimes you just cant tell how much paint is left on a car. It's a long video but super cool and well worth a look hope you guys enjoy.
  21. Hi Alfred, Sorry for the late reply. Sounds like you have everything you need. Just make sure you keep applying layers of Wax and maintain the layers and you will have no issues keeping your car super clean. Cheers
  22. If anyone needs a Detail on Saturday or before just shoot me a message at the moment I still have some free spots. Matt
