  1. That may be the case, then why do the police refer you to QLD transport for anything *they* think is illegal..because all QLD transport will say is "nah it's fine, goodbye" and it's just cost you $85 for the pleasure (which I personally would be claiming back from them) They should be referring you to a police engineer or someone who actually knows the legislation they apparently follow.
  2. less than 4 hours to see what the hype is I hope it does resemble the sketch though, it looks great!
  3. Darren hasn't updated but he has been informed by qld transport that most of his "defects" are actually quite legal, when he gets it in writing he'll be forwarding it on to Slacks Creek Police so they can educate the overly zealous Mr Little what actually constitutes a defective modification, I suggest anyone who gets defected they do the same.
  4. www.bikirom.com the final phase of testing on the R34 is almost complete, making this the ultimate aftermarket ECU upgrade.

I rang the special mods number and was told after market ECU's are fine, as long as they don't make the emissions worse. This is the general gist of most of the modification rules, you can't change anything that causes a detrimental effect to factory emissions/safety features.
  15. seriosuly it'll cost you major $$$$ to get that power figure, no less than $1000 per cylinder + exhaust + ECU + cams....
  16. haha was he going to fine you for bad colour coordination
  17. OK...both of these cars used the e-manage, but I'm 99.9% sure you'll be fine using the normal GTT PFC, as all the connections and ECU sockets are the same. The only thing I think you'll neeed to invest in is the optional pressure sensor for the PFC. The GTT has one connected from factory, this will most likely be the input that would confuse it, if it wasn't there. Stock airbow should be fine, put a pod in if you feel the need. Can you get me one of these dirt cheap turbo's?
  18. Here is my car (at the assessors after it was recovered) as you can see it used lots of revamped parts from other skylines.
  19. The only other example of a high-comp R34 turbo conversion was in Greece, it used a TO4E, which spooled up very well with the compression. Best to wait and see what turbo you decide to buy...as you're going to have to get custom piping and flanges for the exhaust and intercooler, nothing on e-bay will really suit. Don't forget to try and get hold of some GTT injectors, a fuel pump, and an uprated fuel regulator to make tuning more simple. Here is the other 25GT
  20. Jake, I'm merely stating what is the common situation...I've been offered swaps by a few compliers, to save the hassle of getting perfectly good xenons trashed. They get their halogens, I get the xenons..pretty easy concept. As far as the rules go, I wasn't disagreeing with the price, merely offering the offer people who miss out on this offer another option they may not have considered....could call it my civic duty for the week.
  21. Also guys....if you got to a complier you can usually pick these up just for the cost of installation, remember you're actually saving them a huge cost of getting the HID system taken out and reverted back to halogen....
  22. Possibly my old car....it never had any wheels on it though when it was recovered. Where did you see it, I've been trying to find where the hell it's now living.
  23. Yeah the gearboxes are different, very similar but different. I left the auto in my R34...it only had a couple of clutch plates less than the GTT box, and also had a lower stall point so wasn't as excessively abusive on the mechanicals...a manual box would cop it a lot more, so should be swapped. I don't have that car anymore, it was stolen and written off...so I'm now going through the upgrade process with my new GTT. Once you've driven a high-compression car with a turbo, it's funny going to the factory lagmonster!
  24. rebuild the RB25DE into an RB30DET....great engine with a ton of power. Change the transmission...it will die with that sort of power going through it, upgrade toa GT-T box.
