  1. That is definitely a sweet car Moanie, Congratulations. The front mount intercooler looks pretty mean too. My friend Timmy G and I should be getting our Skylines soon (as he mentioned, he is getting the same colour as yours and I'm getting white). Someone put a deposit on his car which was unfortunate, and someone actually bought the car I was looking at! I hadn't yet decided but when I went back to show my interest, it was sold Anyway, such is life, hopefully our cars will be as nice as yours when we get them.
  2. Timmy G was referring to what John told me, which was that the 'Series 2 has a better turbo'. He didn't mention anything technical, he just said 'they are slightly more powerful and smoother than the Series 1'. Unfortunately, that's all I had to go on, not sure whether it is indeed better or not as I have no idea about the technicalities. Could've even been to make a sale for all I know but I basically just trusted John on what he was saying. As for the ceramic impeller stuff, I agree that ceramic would logically be better than plastic. So in the end, I'm back where I started, no idea as to whether a Series 2 turbo is better But as JimX said, I guess it doesn't really matter at standard boost anyhow, so all is good.
  3. I was just wondering if anyone here has any comments on Carizma in Victoria. I'm in Sydney but may consider buying a car from them if they are decent as there is one that interests me. Any comments would be much appreciated, thanks.
  4. In addition to what TimmyG said, the easiest way to quickly determine a real Series 2 from a Series 1 is the trim. Series 1s have a plushy, grey velour trim. But sometimes, seats have been retrimmed (though I've only seen this once). But it is a good place to start when deciphering a Series 1 from a Series 2.
  5. Has anyone bought a car from (or know of) Carizma by any chance, in Victoria? If so, any comments on them? PM me if you prefer. Thanks guys.
  6. It could be Akeenan, I'm not sure if it is true, but that's what I was told. If what GR33DyMANGO said is true, then yeah it would be the other way round I guess. But yeah, just going by what someone told me, I have no idea myself.
  7. Series 2 have better trim, a different front bar, higher wing, more aggressive bonnet and apprently better materials are used for the dash and consoles etc. They also have twin airbags. I was also told that series 2s have a better turbo and better gearbox than the series 1. Hope this helps.
  8. Both are valid points. No one is saying they want to pay high premiums but in the end it's just business. Insurance companies have reasons for charging what they do and I guess we all just have to accept that. The only way we can change it is if we start our own niche company and insure younger drivers in which case we may even find that WE would need to jack up premiums as some of our clients prove to be 'risky'.
  9. They look like ROH Adrenalines, very slick indeed. That's a nice colour Skyline too
  10. Although Skylines are becoming more common, they are still an icon. I would personally go for a Skyline but as Skyline33 said, if you like 4 doors or require 4 doors, go the Rex.
  11. White is good
