if its still for sale, i might be able to get a Dynodynamics 2wd TWIN retarder dyno, can handle 2000hp because it has two retarders for about $50k second hand. PM me if your interested
-
why? you only need to do a test to test the differences in that test

I am not answering this question. It has been answered 20 times or more since the thread has been started.

not everyone can justify a V88 for a stock car unless they have big plans for the car in the future which I am going to give it a big guess that you have big plans If not then it is always good to have decent management from the word go even if your not going to mod the car for a long time, at least you know the job is done and it does not have to be re-done ever again.

Whats The Difference Between The Best Oils

do you want to fight about it? i have lots of cousins who are fully sick. You are a mad man for changing from 300v to Castrol. -
can you grab a litre or so from United and get them to send out that as a test as well? THAT will be the interesting test.
-
Alot of people have stockers here, and they are the ones where the power fc will be a good choice. If anyone has a stocker and needs a ecu to start modding their cars.. the bug will bite and mods will allways follow because the power gains you get is never enough so if you get the vi-pec to start with then there will be no brick wall or expensive upgrades needed in AFM's / Boost controllers / Launch Interfaces that you will need extra because they are not needed with the V44. The V88 is a far advanced ecu is only needed for very serious race cars.

If you have a RB engine and you don't want to spin a bearing use Motul 300v Chrono competition. . END -
Losing Power After A Long Session Of Thrashing
Guilt-Toy replied to nisskid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
bring 2 - 2 litre bottles of water with you. after every drift run pour the water over the radiator and intercooler while it is still running for about 2 minutes, then shut down the engine and pour water over it ever 5 minutes untill you run out of water, then re-fill the water for the next run. If the issue goes away then its definatly heat soak, you can keep doing this as it will help with heat anyway. -
guys, i have heard that the e85 that is sold at United is best stuff you can get in Australia as they make their own out of Sugar caine. The other servo's might be importing the Corn stuff from the states? I only use United so it does not bother me but the other day someone told me this, not too sure how true it is so more clarification may be needed, when i was at the United at Rozelle the other day the guy who owns the Workshop that runs out of the servo came and had a chat with me, he runs his supercharged scooter on it (very cool thing with a old dial style microtech LOL) and explained to me how the United stuff is the best stuff getting around. So how do we get down to the bottom of this - I would rather run my car on the best stuff and I am sure everyone else trying e85 would prefer to as well so you don't get a bad experience with it on your first try.

I would have to disagree dirt. The power fc can run your car as "nice" as the vi-pec can. However, this mainly applies to stock rb's so if you only have a stockish car with stock turbo then you wont need a bigger afm or a boost controller so you would probly be happy with the limited power fc. Only problem with that is once you have the power fc then you are stuck with it, once you start doing some mods you will need a decent boost controller ($600 for PFC kit) a Z32 AFM + plug and then you still have a power fc which suffers from many issues that a modded car with a power fc have. So you want to upgrade your stock ecu ? or your getting serious about your Skyline and you want to move to power gains... The Vi-Pec is a far better ECU for the job. Do the job properly the first time - do the job once and be done with it - You will save lots of money in the long run.

i cannot remember exactly.. but it idles at 100kpa and it cruises at 100ks a hour at probly 60 70kpa?? will check again on weekend
-
do i see a compressor war comming along??
-
Yeah the Vi-Pec has some awesome software / hardware loging capabilities. You can record / play back the run and it has 4mb of internal loging which logs the data even when the laptop is not connected which is enough for a track day or 2 worth of data. Yes. It does venture into vaccume when cruising, its only on idle where there is no vacume nah thats my car.. and only in a place full of yobbo's
-
The whole map from 500rpm to 7000rpm has been mapped from the little amount of vacume that this engine gets to full throttle. Power runs is the next step from here to map the rest of the car and clean up. Should only be a hour dyno work + 15 mins on the street to get it right. I am not in a hurry with this car. If it takes longer then so be it.

Torque Estimate For This Rb26 Engine Spec?

To be honest i was worried when i first jumped in the car, set the ignition timing without even having to turn the CAS, Mr Dirt opens the car door and says what about the timing, i explained to him we don't need to touch the CAS, all done on the software i could see he was a little worried too, little did he realise this is no power FC.. The Vi-Pec V88 was starting to impress him before the wheels were even turning on the Dyno which was funny, he spent the last 12 months talking up this ecu and then forgot how good it actualy was After about 5 mins, Paul comes to the door and just watched the auto tune in progress, i looked up to look at him and then he smiled, looked at the pc and in green read "target reached" After about 15 minutes i was checking the iat, checking the ect and the oil temp's and everything was fine.. It was then I realise i was not tuning a car built in someone's back yard, always checking stuff for issues or over heating issues, this thing did not go over 85deg and was just running for the most constant time i have ever run a car on a dyno, when changing gears and hearing that box crack the gears i realised I was tuning a Properly Built Race Car that was tough as nails then my confidence started to come back to me and we managed to map the whole car from 0 to 7000rpm in about a hour and a bit.. We ran out of time because Wayne @ Hunter All Wheel Dyno wanted to go home cos he was there all day for us, what a champion! More tuning to be done this weekend, Twoogle & Guilt-Toy should be ready for power cruise on saturday i hope. Bring on the power runs!!! 500rwkw & 400rwkw the mission for this weekend!

so nissan ran race forced induction at 1.00 ??? 14.7afr?? you serious? 700hp? lol I would probly be running mine at .80's id say.. i wont lose much power from .85 anyway.. might test and see during tuning and also listen to the engine for any pinging...
-
Has this tuner tuned anything making 400rwkw+ on e85? if so what lambda ? i was thinking of tuning it on .80's just to be safe but would be interested in someone else's opinion. .85's would be good for 300ish rwkw.. but 400 450rwkw ?? .80 ?
