Panel Air Filters

Sydneykid, thanks for the informative reply. Do you have any more filters? E-mail me: [email protected], I'll buy one *correction* I'll buy two if you have them. -
Liquid: good point. I bet the f#*kin' RTA will take this completely out of context and use it as weight to push changes. I am not against some rules, like 40 zones for schools and safe stuff like that. But there are silly technical zones like one near me which is 3 lanes both ways and an overpass over the Gore Hill Expressway (which is like 7 by 7 lanes at least), and it's a 50 zone. Anyway, in regards to the kid, not many people deserve to die, but he was higher up in rank than anyone that night - that's life and shit happens - my 2c. Good point someone made, better just him than him and a family in a head on.

this is a really n00b question. my car came with an apexi panel filter, would this be better than a jamex one? -
Who here drove/driving a drive a skyline on p's??

yeah, i reckon you should drive your mum or dad's car for a while which is probably less powerful. but no matter what... when you get a fast car you are going to drive around a little faster and do things you wouldn't normally do. the magnitude in which this occurs is just amplified if you are young and dumb -

yeah, the earliest possible time you can get on your Ps is when you turn 17 -
the brant nemesis cost me like $850. it's got a 6pt immobiliser, key pad (need to put in the pin before the car will start) and keyless entry. i think it uses the AA02 immobiliser + remote fob that shell has, with some cannibilised parts from other brant alarms (such as the keypad which can also be bought seperately)

correct. * learners = 1 year, can't drive by yourself, 90km/hr limit * red Ps = 1 year, lower speed limits, 100km/hr limit * green Ps = 2 years, 100km/hr limit i am not 100% sure about the speed limits, but it's something like that. i am on my green Ps still, get my full licence in oct -
not many cars come with alarms or immobilisers, i got told it's because there is a low rate of car theft in japan. i got a brant nemesis installed on my car ( www.brant.com.au )

i drove a nissan pulsar 1.6L on my red Ps and a skyline r33 gts-t on my green Ps (NSW) -
There's no Skyline listed under Nissan/1996. Is the Skyline listed under any year?

What does the 40 in 255/40/17s refer to? And what relation is 255 to inches/cm?

Hey, I think my rear tyres are wearing out a little. I've been launching at 3000 RPM lately and doing big wheel spins, when they used to bite rather quickly. Where is a good place to get new rubber in Sydney metro? Any brand/model suggestions? I heard Bridgestone Potenza and Dunlop Formula FM901s were good, the latter particularly in the wet. I have stock wheels and am looking for 225s all around (which is what I currently have).

Hahah i have a better idea.. everyone has to pay into a trust which all our speeding fines and traffic offenses are paid out of

when i said riced up, i meant generally. i didn't mean to say that honda's are the only riced up cars - i agree, lancers are the most common. -
it's ironic that the reason they have to run out onto the road to get the ball is so it doesn't get run over.. also in regards to the spit hill one, i think it's good and bad. there are 3 cameras within a kilometre - that is overkill. having said that, a friend of mine who isn't the world's best driver managed to spin out and ended up on the other side of the road.
-
i've had cops and regular joe's do that to me. i tap the brakes a couple of times but it doesn't seem to work. speaking about brake lights - i hate it when cabs tap the brakes and tail gate, it shits me cos it is confusing (don't wanna single out cabbies, but they are the only ones i recall ever doing it) having said that, i've been on the other side and tailed other people, but i don't tail them to annoy them, i want to get past them.

and the 6 cylinder BMW M3 3.2L NA engine produces a BOATLOAD of power and torque!!! that is a 5s 0-100 car (5.5 or something) also the 350Z V6 (or is it inline?) is pretty impressive - it's in the low 6s

the s2000? honda make pretty awesome engines. in regards to the skyline impersonating hondas and riced up cars in general, i used to think those guys were such losers. but some friends pointed out to me that they probably have respect for us fortunate enough to be able to drive skylines. when you drive up they are probably thinking "nice car", not "i have a better car than him, really i do, yeah i do! *rev* *rev*" and it's pretty bad to throw it in their face and think "loser". plus if hondas are trying to look like skylines it's flattering. that is my 2 philosophical cents. -
isn't what every single person on this forum does? waits behind cars for the first opportunity to pass?
-
i have never riden a bike, but if i did i'd probably lane split - isn't that the point of a bike - so you can go in bus lanes and get to the front of traffic jams? the only thing that shits me is harleys with loud exhausts, i really hate them. likewise i hate cars with really loud exhausts (but they are never as loud). i think i bend the rules to the same degree in a car so i can't really complain

My little mission in life is to fill up the maximum litres possible.. well not really I am just a bum and don't fill up until I really need to. The car does feel shitty when you are the bottom of your tank, I should put some of that Wynns Spitfire cleaner stuff through it or something.
-
I got my GTST when I was 20 - moving up from my 1st car, an N15 auto Pulsar. You're gunna get screwed on comprehensive insurance and you need to really be careful if you get a T. I was initially looking at a GTS, only cos I didn't think I could afford a GTST. I waited a little longer and got what I really wanted and didn't look back.
-
Tony: keep driving till the engine starts acting funny I fill up about 50-60L. I am a bad boy cos I run it to empty. PS. you said you filled up on 400kms when it was on E in a GTS? You should be able to get a few more kms in an NA. The highest mileage I've gotten in the city is 430km with about 8L left in the tank.
