  1. rolls, great idea.

I have been playing with VCT for a while and have experimented with tps switching and afm voltage switching. (using load insted of RPM) to switch. but had to many variables in driving conditions to see if it made any real world difference. I even played with cam timing in the intake cam. and what I found was that switching via rpm and leaving the range stock was the best option, atleast for a 30det.

I am sure there will be a few interested in this

  2. sorry I should have clarified...

the stamping plant at Gelong produces 49% off cuts from the process of making panels. these offcuts are pressed into 1 foot square cubes and then melted down in the smelter of the casting plant and mixed with Iron. so it is a cast iron block with a high iron content.

this process has been happening since BA. I can not confirm what happend before that.,

I will get into trouble if i tell you any more than that

  3. Hey all, just dug this up in my garage and I am sure it will be of use to someone.

Its an RB25 NEO turbo cartridge and turbine and compressor housing. it has the OP6 rear housing. the wheel wheels and shaft are long since gone. I bought it ages ago and never used it. the turbine housing has gouge marks in it but if made into a hiflow these will be machined out so should be ok. there is also a hairline crack in the housing. nothing major and can be welded before it goes on the hiflow.

    $100!

  4. The blocks are PLENTY strong. I have seen where and how they are made, the quality of the steel used in the casting process and the machine shop they are made in. I am in there regularly.

the blocks are cast from offcuts from the manufacture of body panels and are therefore very high grade steel. not cast rubbish.

I know a whole lot more about the the engineering process but cant tell you anymore than that :P

  5. Hi All I have for sale a set of 6 RB25 injectors that have been hiflowed for sale.

they have been ultrasonically cleaned and tested and flow 740cc. they have new pintle caps and are DROP IN REPLACEMENTS for your stock injectors!

they look EXACTLY the same as the ones in your RB25 smile.gif

I have the same injectors in my car and they are currently making over 300rwkw. I had a few sets done at the same time hence the spares.

$400! or give me your old ones and you can have them for $300.

This is the last set I have and am not sure if i am going to get any others done for quite a while and if so not at the same price. the last 2 sets sold instantly so get in quick..

    cheers!

  6. on the internal gate I was using a turbotech boost controller and it would hold boost fine in low gears and low load. as soon as you accellerated hard in 4th up a hill boost would keep climbing and i did not want to find out when it would stop.

if you ported the buggery out of the internal flap and used a decent ebc you "might" be able to get away with it, it depends on the amount of gas your engine will produce. i would have less chance with the 3ltr that someone with the rb20 would.

this turbo is really designed to run high boost so if all you are aming for is 15psi you might be better suited to another turbo.

  7. I have a 30det in my R32 and originally had a 4.3:1 ratio and it was a lot of fun and very snappy but hard to launch. I replaced the diff with a 4.1:1 ratio and it was a noticable difference. it is less snappy and launches better. I have not noticed any decrease in acceleration possibly because I am now getting slightly better traction.

if you want it fro sliding or fun keep a 4.3 in it and if you want to drive it every day go the 4.1 or even taller.

    cheers!

  8. my 740cc injectors are running 72% duty cycle at 310rwkw with lots of load. so you might need a set of 550's.

there are a lot of people using smaller but at really high duty cycles.

My injectors are 370cc standard purple tops I have hiflowed. I have done about 7 sets now and have had 100% success rate with them. they are difficult to get cold start right but they are fine after 15 seconds of driving.

the pintles are machined then you ultrasonically clean them and replace the pintle caps and flow test them.

    cheers!
