  3. No worries guys, nice to meet you too. Glad you all had a good day & braved the ordinary looking weather. The event ran well, with no problems or serious 'offs'. Quite a few spins, but everyone drove themself back out again... thumbs up to the dude in the big tank fairlane thing (the big red/black thing in the background of one the pics) who was doing some impressive dorifto action around the back of the track! how many runs did you all end up getting?
  4. Scrutineering will be from 7.30am.. the sooner we get it done, the sooner we can drive 9.am start, finish 4.30pm. Hoping to have a half hour lunch break

  6. For the Lap Dash, 6 runs consisting of a 3/4 of a lap warm up, 1 full flying lap & a 1/2 a lap cool down back into the pit lane. Once everyone has done their 6, we will just keep on sending you out till you cant take it any more, or until 4.30pm, which ever comes first. For the Skid Pan Motorkhana(dry, & no reversing tests), Minimum 6 tests For the Dirt Circuit, 6 runs + till 4.30pm Some entries will be accepted on the day, but, to confirm your spot & to keep(time consuming) paperwork to a minimum on the day we really would appreciate it if you can send in the registration form & payment at least a week before the event. We can now do FREE 1 day membership to the organising CAMS club (Nepean Valley Car Club) CAMS licences will be available to buy on the day if you don't already have one. L2S licences $95 L2NS for the pan & dirt are $50. Scruitineereing (is also free), & can be done by ANY 'S3' CAMS Scruitineer & needs to be done in the week prior to the event. Best to phone the CAMS office on (02) 6935 1366 for your nearest scruitineer, usually the local motorsport type workshop, or somoene might live in your area so you can just work out a time to go to them at their home or where ever. Basically, scruitineering covers safety, such as - front end/steering no wobbles etc, - seat firmly mounted, - battery firmly mounted, -condition of seat belt, (a standard seat belt in a road car is fine) - if you have a roll cage, you must use a harness type belt -an approved helmet (for the speed /dirt events. 99% of helmets sold in Aus are legal) - a fire extinguisher within reach that is secureley mounted(you can use strong/wide cable ties to mount the bracket if you dont want to drill holes, but DONT cable tie the extinguisher in!) - & a secondry bonnet latch (an occy strap or a belt through the handle is fine) -also a blue triangle 150mm sides to show battery location(blue elictrical tape will be fine) for the lap dash. -you will need long clothing too Scruitineering will also be available on the day of the event in the morning, but you might have to wait in a que for a little while... please put a note on the registration form if you will need to be scruitineered on the day, & that you are from SAU If you have any other questions about anything feel free to PM me or post them on here

  13. Hi all! Just thought I would let everyone know that the car club I am involved in (Nepean Valley Car Club) is running 3 events on Easter Saturday. There will be a Lap Dash on the North Circuit, you will get 1 full flying lap with a warm up & cool down into-out of the pits, we want everyone to get at least 6 runs, but will just keep sending you out till you cant take it any more(or 4.30pm, which ever comes first!) There will also be a proper CAMS (timed) Motorkhana on the Skid Pan, minimum 6 events, 2 runs at each test. AND.... to top it off we will be running a Khanacross on the Figure 8 dirt track too! It's relativley smooth & we will be running road tyres only (on the driven wheels, so no rally tread type tyres) Prices are: LAP DASH: $99 MOTORKHANA:$45 DIRT CIRCUIT:$50 These events will be run with CAMS permits, by a CAMS affiliated club (NVCC) The normal CAMS requirements will apply for helmets, clothing, fire extinguishers, blue battery triangle etc. PLEASE go to the link http://nationalbugin.org.au/bug-in_nepean_...08_calendar.pdf and fill in the registration form asap if you would like to enter & put a note on it that you are from SAU too. If you have any quastions, feel free to pm me or just reply on here.
  14. Item:MOTOROLLA "MOTORAZR V6 MAXX" SOLD. thanks pb344
  15. sorry about the late reply, work..sleep..work..sleep.. Does that centre reflector part come out? My bro's has a reverse light white/clear centre(which isn't broken) cheers, Michael.
  16. Yeah, I've never really been involved with yahoo jp anyway... If you've got bit n pieces, that would be tops! Its the left hand tail light, the red ring lense on the numberplate side. Not sure if they come apart of fit from side to side or whatever, so not too keen to bid on the 211 ones on ebay atm either. So yeah, if you can help out with a lense my bro would be stoked. Cheers, Michael. p.s. those jap mirrors & gt's I got off ya look trick on the car too
  17. Can any one help? There was a pair of 210 hot plates on ebay a couple of weeks ago that sold for around $750... did anyone on here buy them? Some guy just bumped into the back of my bro's car & they managed to crack one of the lenses. Of course the guy was driving a crap box, with no insurance, & 'doesn't speeka da englase'. If someone on here bought them, or knows who did, I might need to get a copy of the invoice or something to show how much they are worth. I know there is a set for a late/211 on ebay now for $350, but they are a different shape to what he's got. He paid alot more than that for his too, but has recently moved house, and can't find the invoice papers for them anywhere. So, yeah, if the guy turns out to be a pain & doesn't want to cough up the cash, an invoice might help. cheers.
  18. Make: Toyota Model:1990 AE92 Milage:275xxx Transmission:Auto Colour:Red Location: Quakers Hill Currently registered? Till October 2008 Price:$1200 ono Contact:just on here or pm me Comments / Modifications:This is my dads car, he uses it as his daily to & from work. Only selling to get a newer car. Auto has been rebuilt, Air con works well, tyres have heaps of tread, doesn't overheat. It has a few dings & scrapes, the paint goes dull on the roof if you don't keep it polished, interior has few stains etc. Its just a cheap reliable A to B car. Oh & its a twin cam 16 valve 1600cc carby, runs a little rough with the air on, but still goes fine. Images:
  19. Nope, powdercoating requires the item to be baked at 250 degrees (or 300 or something, its pretty hot anyway). The wheels (or whatever) get chemically cleaned then spayed with a powdered pigment, (actually looks like a bag full of coloured powder, sprayed through a special electrostatic gun which makes it wrap around into all the little edges & corners) then put into an oven to bake. This 'melts' the powder together to form the end coating. Try to find a good recommended powdercoater that does wheels too. Some of the fence/steel powdercoat guys are be pretty rough.
  20. Firstly, yep, candy reds are a tops colour, especially if they have a nice flake to them. But... candies are'nt the easiest or cheapest thing to get & is definatley a custom job. Also very hard to repair if you ever have a smash... Basically, a Candy is an effect that you get when you spray a base colour down, usually a silver, first. Then apply coats of a transparent colour, like red, over the top, followed by the clear top coats. Because the candy is so transparent (looks like cordial) the end colour is effected by the colour of the base you use & how many coats of the candy colour you put on, so say 5 coats will be a lighter shade, but 8 would be deeper. If you all ready have a red car, the only advantage would be that you might not be too worried about all your closed edges, engine bay etc. You wouldnt really have to strip it back to bare metal, as long as the paint is ok.
  21. Hmm... nope, not likely you'll be able to get a sticker off & save it. Probably better to take a rim down to your local sticker guy & get him to make some up for you before you peel them off. Take some pics of the wheels as they are now too, just in case you want to sell them in the future, you can show they are genuine Work & not just no name wheels with stickers that look the same. You'll pretty much have to live without the size/offset sticker on the inside (unless you're keen enough to get them made too), just take a photo or write all the info down for future referance. Wax & Grease Remover (from most auto shops) on a rag will do the trick, fairly wet, & let it sit on the sticker for a minute to soften it up... might need a little scrape with a razor blade too (definatley not 'save-able' this way) .
  22. Easier to just buy the silver one if its the same colour as your car. Painting will cost more than the $30 difference, & the silver one will be silver all over, in behind the glass, where it folds in etc. Painting a maroon one will eventually scratch off/stone chip too.
  23. I just got back from up the coast... Both my vans are hit (all custom air brushed too) & my company Corolla is hammered, bro's gf car too. Roof tiles, ceiling, windows & carpet at my mates place. To top it off, my bro was using 1 of my vans to move house & it rolled down his drive way into his mates ute too, so hail + tail light & 1/4 pushed back/kinked!! Oh well, it WAS a good weekend, I hope Mr insurance man is nice. Oh, and I'm sumburnt as f**k too
  24. You could try Stewart, he's usually either got whatever you need or knows where to get it, not in Melbourne though... http://www.swmotorsport.com/
  25. Nah you don't need to plastic primer them then. If they are still ok, you could probably just give them an 800 wet & paint straight over them. Use 400 wet or just give them a 320 dry if you want to put a couple of coats of primer dowm first, then as above. "quoteWhy you bother????? Take it to a spray painter and than you can complain about the quality! Do you have decent spray gear and an oven? Preparation of the paint and quality of the paint job is the secret. People which do it every day .... know what they do it. Takes very little to screw it up..big time. Take my advice, let others do it. Cheers, Eug.end qoute" To any one that is keen enough to give it a go themselves, good on you, the personal satisfaction of DIY is great, even if the job doesn't come out 100%. To those who just work hard & spend their money to get things done (then complain to the professionals!) , thats fine too.. sure, offer your advice, but don't make sarcastic remarks or bag people out. The guy is asking people who have pianted stuff before some questions. & yes I am a qualified spraypainter.
