  1. No its actually a piece of clay, kinda like a cake of soap. You really need to make sure the car is clean before you start & use water when using it... a hose dribbling over the panel. You rub it back & forth over the panel, washing it off in a bucket to keep it clean. I think you can get different grades/stiffness too, softer or hard. If you buy one, definately ask the guy at the paint shop how to use it. If all the paint is crap looking & not shiny any more, maybe the car needs a buff & polish. The clay block doesnt really restore shine.

  14. I've had the thin waterproof Covercraft one for about 3 years on one of my cars. The car is outside under a tree all the time & besides fading from black to grey on the outside, (the inside is still black), it is still 98% water proof. The only problems I have had is that I had to take it to a trimmer to sew on some straps with plastic clips that go under the car to hold it on in the wind (had to chase it down the street the day after i bought it!) Also, the stitching has only just begun to undo in the elastic where it rubs on the tyre all the time.

  17. Jaycar sell cordless LED rechargable ones, they are excellent. Narva make them too but I think they are more expensive
  18. If you dont have a rattle gun, find the longest piece of bar/tube you can & slide it over the ratchet handle, leverage is the key!
