They are good , rallied one to 3rd o/r in the state championship in 1992. Bit heavy but surprisingly quick and anything you can do to an evo lancer , you can do to a VR$ ( except lose weight ) Cheers Ken

Joe , extreme outback , I don't think so. It's all bitumen and you spend a lot of time within 100km of the Great Southern Bight. Servos every 250km and they even have toilets and showers ( for a price ) Cheers Ken

Errr Niz , If you count as perth to the east as 1 trip , I have done over 60 of them driving everything from 6 ton trucks , Toyota MR2's , Mazda vans towing GTR's and porsches. Drive sensibly and stay alert ( the place needs more lerts ). and there is usually no prob. cheers Ken

Does incorrect wheel offset affect handling?

yep , both. The offset can make a difference ( though 6mm shouldn't be that dramatic ). Large diff in offset can cause tramlining , pulling of the steering under brakes and a bump steer type situation. More than likely is the tyres that have taken a wear pattern based on the car they came off. New tyres will prolly make all the difference. cheers Ken -
