  2. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...+number+section Just thought it might get a few more views in this section. Cheers!
  3. Hi gtsii I recently purchased a 044 for $360 brand new COD from an advertiser in these forums. We installed it intank which was a bugger of a job - if I did it again I'd seriously consider mounting it externally - so much easier but I'm unsure on the legalities. Make sure you install the check valve also as we didn't and it takes two clicks of the key to prime the fuel system enough to start in the morning. It's nice and quiet though - certainly worth doing the job once and properly. Petrol stinks. Good luck! Glen
  4. Hi all, Just wanted to say I got my 044 pump up here in QLD four days after I ordered, the COD price being $366 - it took an arvo for dad and I to install in tank (lost an hour or two as we had to go into town for the fittings) and just got dynoed yesterday - fuel pressure great now and the gtst r33 made 205rwkw. Cheers
  5. Hi Moggy, As a traveller throughout Europe and also England I have seen just what you have - it's disgusting how our police seem to be just revenue raisers now. If you go on the highway now most people just put the cruise control on 100km/hr and that's it - problem is that person's speedo might be out 10km/hr so they piss everyone off. Everyone's so scared about speeding that they won't speed up enough to overtake which is dangerous, annoys everyone - makes people impatient which is dangerous. Has anyone here ever seen a radar on a overtaking lane? Of course! Go on the Bruce Highway now and it will be jam packed because of this - no-one can speed up a bit to get a safe distance from the person behind. It's resulted in a hellava lot of drivers with no common road sence - INCLUDING POLICEMEN. Thats my bit - just before I went away I saw a fat policeman sit in our deserted street all day booking everyone for the smallest things ie. a bloke on a moterbike got booked for not indicating into his drive way (no traffic??) and the list goes on. He was the bloke who booked me for not wearing a seatbelt - driving out of my driveway and 50 metres down the road to my mates house. What disgusted me the most was he just sat there for hours waiting for someone to do something wrong. My 2 cents worth.....
  6. Quite interesting Saw a ferarri in a magazine ( standard factory) which has a similar setup but better - driving below 5000 rpm you have full exhaust system - above that gas gets by-passed and you just have an open system! What a sound.
  7. Revenue raising....... Two things I've been done for in 8 years of driving are: 1 Driving literally 4 houses down the my street to my friends house in my VL commo with no seatbelt on - second gear - 25km/hr - highly dangerous practice..... 2 Doing 70 - in a 60 zone driving an auto vp commo down a big hill in salsbury - everyone knows how easy it is to speed accidently in an auto and yes they were at the bottom of the hill. I get pissed off every time I think about the money I handed over.
  8. Thermostat, waterpump, cracked cylinder head - did you bleed the system???? Very strange for such a new skyline to have such problems. Have you noticed in the morning before you drive any white stuff in the oil when you take off the rocker cover screw? Any brown colour in the coolant? I've never heard of any skylines under normal circumstances crack a cylinder head, or blown head gasket, but coolant shooting out of the overflow bottle could be that, or it's just getting bloody hot. If you have any doubts take it to a cooling specialist as it shouldn't be boiling - I wouldn't drive it in that condition. Good luck.
  9. Unless you're really on the edge - really want every last hp from your gtr I think you'd be mad to get rid of it - also for the resale value of the car. I very much doubt you'd feel any difference in performance (with air con switched off) and if you reckon you do it'd be your imagination unless you're a professional race driver. 2 kg's? Stick a couple of pairs of shoes in your boot and a box of cds on the floor - 2 kilograms worth and see if you can notice any decrease in performance.
  10. I'd say a water spray system would work better - there should be tons of air going over the core once you're moving. Water is amasing at cooling.
  11. . Tomorrow, if it is a hot day, I will test the inlet air temperatures to make sure the scoop is functioning. I have 2 sensors and temperature guages, one I will fit to the front of the grill and I will stick the other in the inlet air stream inside the snorkel itself. This will test that only ambient temperature air is getting to the airfilter. If it is successful I will post up the templates for the air deflector and the scoop, which you could use without the air deflector if you wanted. Hope this is of some use, Happy New Year Looks great SK Been in Egypt so haven't been able to log on 'till now to have a look. How did you go with the intake temp test? Cheers!
  12. The dump disposal bins are the go. No sence in chucking it in the bin - at least it gets recycled when you goto the dump.
  13. Yeah I'm in for one.
  14. Grinding noise when clutch is in sounds like the throwout bearing. I've never heard them grind though - just a horrible squeal - but a grind could be the bearings packing it in. You'll have to get it looked at though as it doesn't sound right.

    Sorry!!

Thanks for looking out for us Dan. Not your fault at all. Also kept in touch on the phone which was great. Cheers mate.
  16. Yeah I'm interested - I need a pump in three weeks so if anyone can come up with something that'd be great!
  17. Did he use the factory nissan wiring? You're supposed to use the factory wires to switch a relay and use a direct power supply from the battery instead - the pump draws too much power for the factory wiring to handle. At idle the pump might not be supplying enough fuel as it hasn't got enough power.
  18. Thanks Joel, I'll do some more looking around when I'm home in 3 weeks. It's a bit hard over here in cold England! I don't go dumping the clutch or anything - problem is it's on the way out and with all my new parts I'm expecting just over 200rwkw. Twin plates are so expensive - but I want the car to be driveable for my wife too.... Mods on the horison should give over 250rwkw so I want something substantial. Looks like your clutch can definatly handle that though.
  19. Hi Joel, Just wondering if your ceramic unit is the same as the cushioned ceramic kits they sell at www.horsepowerinabox.com I'll be getting a clutch kit over the next few weeks so am interested too. Definately don't want anything that's a bitch to drive though. Has anyone else driven with a cushioned ceramic clutch?
  20. I'll be installing a 044 bosch in three weeks into my r33gtst. Cost $300
  21. Good stuff fellas! Part numbers are great but if they were posted in a permanent section it would be better! http://www.sau.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=56447 What do you reckon?
  22. Depends how much oil? I've had four turbo engines and all had a light layer of oil in the pipe work - quite dry though - if it's wet like it's just some out of the sump then I'd say you've got a problem.
  23. Anyone else have any opinions? It'd be good to get this section underway - or is it just a silly idea??
  24. I am thinking it could be something got wet when they flushed the radiator - would that cause the problem? I have the factor BOV Yeah definatly! My Vl had the same problem - I could never find it and didn't want to spend any money, I just popped the bonnet on a really hot day and left it to dry for a few hours. Allways did the trick - from working on the cooling system I'd say crank angle sensor maybe? Worth unplugging everything and giving a spray with crc. Maybe Air Flow meter plug? Good luck!
  25. Not too many yet! Me: 1 Del Sol :1 R33 Steve: Maybe two Col Gtsx:Maybe three Paragon: Interested Strutto:Semi interested GR33dy: Interested Might be because x-mas is just around the corner! Anyway - I'm willing to pay the $310 for the 044. Just give us a date! Cheers!
