  1. Would a slightly used, hot FC Holden get it done for you?
  2. What's a nOOb question? But ta for reply anyway. The FC holden wasn't that bad when I think about it. Mine had a Repco super sports engine (but still a sideplate grey), twin carbs, extractors, 2 inch exhaust, fats (steel wheels), lowered suspension and a top speed of 84 MPH. My mates called it the ROCKET. Is it to late to change your order?
  3. Moanie/NismoGirl. A Q. if I may? Whats a power fc, or shouldn't I ask? I used to have an FC holden (1959) in a former incarnation, but you wouldn't call that powerful - by today's standards. And I'm sure it's not the answer to my Q. Hope you are making progress with problems. I have no further insights, beyond how the lights are supposed to work. Initially, mine did have a problem. None of the ABS,slip, or active LSD lights ever came on. Under warranty, so dealer had problem for 3 weeks. Turned out it was a broken wire inside a plug somewhere. It was like these systems had been turned off with a switch. Interesting that both ABS and slip/activeLSD systems both ran thru one wire. Seems to support earlier post that both these systems are run from the one computer??
  4. Mine is an active LSD, built Feb 94. Plate says RC41. the 41 is the rear drive ratio of 4:1 I think. However, the difference in plate ID is in the sixth digit of the MODEL number. Active LSD is the only model that has V as the sixth digit. Bit belated response, but am only recent owner cheers
  5. Just chanced to happen on this thread when surfing the forum. Hope you gels got your problems sorted. I could barely understand much of the discussion. I only bought my car in May 2004, so am still on steep learning curve. Mine is also an R33 active LSD model, built Feb 1994. I managed to track down an owners handbook in english. Its been helpful for the basics. It says both activeLSD and slip lights (ABS light as well) come on with the ignition, but go out when engine is started. Slip light also comes on when losing rear traction (eg having fun in the wet, or doughies, or perhaps on ice/snow in Japan). Active LSD light (and ABS light) only comes on when driving if there is a system fault. My car (now) does it exactly like in the manual. But mine is stock standard. Mucking around with electronic mods seems too scary too me. Hope this is helpful to some active LSD owners. cheers
  6. Congrats! Well done! All very satisfying when you find and fix problem yourself, without any big bucks.
  7. Still can't make your link work. Can you pls have a looksee &/or reply to PM Ta..............garrie
  8. Yeah, link not seem to work for me either.....any help appreciated thanks..... Gazza
  9. My R33 GTS25t had similar symptoms recently, after some warranty work - which involved removing the front dash panel. Auto electrician did not reconnect the ambient cabin temperature sensor (wire + tube, I understand). This is located just to the left of the steering column - behind the panel. It would only pump hot air (which is a system default arrangement), except @ the minimum temp setting - 18degrees I think - where it was possible to get cold air. Dealer whipped off the panel, reconnected the sensor/s, and all was back to normal. He knew what he was doing, and only took 5 mins. Would have taken me yoncks. Try to check whether your sensor lead/s have become disconnected, before doing anything more drastic. good luck

    Strut Braces

My R33 (series I) had a Skyline branded rear brace already fitted when I bought it in May 2004. But it is an active LSD model - GTS25t.M/LSD. Perhaps this model had a rear brace fitted as standard????? Anyone know???????? Whatever, it doesn't have front brace, and would like one of these. Greg, any R33 front braces left?
  11. I bought my R33 GTS25t.M/LSD from BEN @ Northshore Prestige in Balgowlah - May 2004. I did shop around first, but found they had good quality/price combination. There was also no bullshit. Couple of young guys own and run the business. Not a salesman in sight. They were happy to put it up on the hoist for detailed inspection prior to purchase. Had some small problems (leaky exhaust, leaky rear shock, split in rear GTR wing, ABS & active LSD not functioning - due to broken wire). ALL were fixed under warranty - with absolutely no hassles or cost to me. All up, it was one of the best retail experiences I've had. Bottom line is - if I was looking for another one, its the first place I'd go. Good luck........cheers
  12. Bought my GTS25t.M/LSD from BEN @ Northshore Prestige Motors in Balgowlah, Sydney. Nice bunch of young guys own/run the business - not a salesman in sight. $19,250 for a Feb 94 model. It's been a good experience. These guys are importers and RAWS complianciers. Value/quality was better than anywhere else I looked. Phone (02) 9948 5302 or www.northshoreprestige.com.au Good luck.............................
  13. Yeah..........I've done some things I probably shouldn't have. I wanted to see if my GTSt is really speed limited to 180 k/h. Managed to get it past the 180k end of speedo (prob @ 190k) in 4th @ 6,500 - UPHILL - but ran out of safe road. Anyone know if these are actually speed limited to 180k?????????????? Whatever, we all look like wimps compared to the members of the MID NIGHT CLUB in Tokyo. These guys take their machines (20-30 all together) out after midnight for a freeway rally at 300+ km/hr !!!!!!!!!! Have a read - MOTOR magazine January 1996 Reproduced on www.motortraders.net/magazine/article.asp?id=15 Read it & weep.
  14. Well. That partly settles the Q of existence, for the GTR. I can also recall seeing a picture of the front cover of an R33 GTS-t brochure on the net, but buggered if I can find it again. As I recall, it was on a site run by some weirdo USA car brochure collector - he had thousands of em, but wasn't selling them. Have to keep hunting, I guess.
