  1. New Turbosmart plumb back BOV installed....boost leak solved, car makes great power now and holds boost flawlessly. No more cut out, which was likely the ecu before cutting fuel. All areas of the power band make far better response now, liking the new tune.
  2. 235/40/18 isn't much of stretch, you will be completely fine.
  3. I'm going to go with an upgraded turbosmart plumb back bov, want to keep the stock recirculating design. But that's a good idea with what to do to the stock bov, kind of brings it back to life. And yes I know the stock bov does let some pressure past, but no pressure would build up at all, it flowed right through....
  4. found that the bov wasn't holding pressure at all...during a boost leak test we couldn't find much until we pressurized the bov itself, which resulted in air just rushing out of the thing, barely could take 2-3psi before it would just open.
  5. So I got my Nistune done a couple days ago, spent about 3 hours on the dyno. My mods -blitz intake -blitz front mount -blitz front pipe -blitz cat back -blitz SBC -no cat (test pipe) -splitfire coils -stock turbo When we did some load pulls on the actual road the car blew off a vacuum line on the manifold. We fixed this leak and all seemed good. At idle the car reads -19 vacuum, and on decel off the pedal i get -23 vacuum ....the car is tuned for a max of 13.5lbs of boost, but I turn it down to around 12lbs boost. I ran into an issue the other day that anytime around 4000rpm in 3rd, 4th, or 5th the car would completely loose power. I can creep into 12psi by using partial throttle but full throttle and the car cuts. So today I take it back and they boost leak test the car, do some smoke to help find the problem but not much luck. Then we take a look at the stock bov, we T into the vacuum line running from the manifold to the bov, and un hook the recirc side of the bov that goes into the intake tube. Apply some air and the BOV starts leaking like crazy, and there is maybe 2-3psi running through it. Its evident the BOV needs replacing, but what gets me is why the car runs well still and how it can even make any boost with the BOV not being able to hold any pressure and leaking like that.....would it be because the turbo is compensating and spinning even faster to achieve its target boost level?
  6. Ya i could check the plug gap, but it doesn't really feel like a miss, just a sudden loss of power....and then it starts to make power again.
  7. Got splitfire coils, colder plugs. Stock injectors and fuel pump still.
  8. Nistune went well Got 258whp and 239wtq but I think that's pushing the stock turbo a bit to much, I believe our peak boost was 13.8 psi Yesterday I was in 3rd gear with the pedal smashed and around 4,000-4,500rpm there was a sudden loss of power and boost....then it built power again after that a second later. I experienced this on one of our runs after about 3 hours on the dyno. We went to do some road pulls to test the load on the car and it happened, my tuner looked at some values and changed a couple things....and we also had a vacumn line blow off the manifold. Fixed everything and the car ran strong, but still it did the same thing a couple days later now. Back to the shop tomorrow, going to dial down the boost on the stock turbo a bit and maybe make sure the fuel pump is keeping up etc. Hoepfully get the car back on the dyno and sorted.
  9. Getting the Blitz SBC id spec-r boost controller put in next week along with the nistune board. Dyno tuning will follow, hopefully all goes well and nothing blows up ))

    Introduce Yourself

check out Racing Greed while you are here.... You will see plenty of imports, maybe even spot me in the R34 or in my 97 toyota starlet 1.3 turbo as well!
  11. I can't believe R32's still exist in such good condition....like seriously, when I imported one of the first R32 GTR's into Canada 10 years ago it was nice, but not as clean as yours looks! Enjoy!...and wait for the R34's like I did haha
  12. Got some new wheels today for the R34 GTT Enkei NT03-M matte black 18x9.5 +27 all four corners I test fitted one side, currently there is 265/40/18 tires on all of them (which will be replaced) The fronts I plan to run 235/40/18, rears 265/35/18 Chime in if you have any tire suggestions or fitment suggestions....my front and rears are already rolled.
  13. New wheels for my R34 GTT Front: 18x9.5 +27 Rear: 18x9.5 +27 Enkei NT03-M flat black I am going to run 235/40/18 in the fronts, and 265/35/18 in the rears. Any suggestions are welcomed. Test fitment today, love them. Currently 265/35/18 all around, but tires are trashed.
  14. Jeez its been a very long time since I updated anything! I have been active with the car, but it didn't seen much driving until these past couple weeks. Summer has hit us so the car is coming out for a couple months. Most recently I took off my HKS Hi power Super Silent. I replaced it with a Blitz nur spec exhaust that I was lucky enough to find at auction! The car is so much louder now As for other changes the boost controller and nistune board get installed in a couple weeks at a local tuning shop. My wheel setup is changing now, bought some Enkei Nt03-m 18X9.5 +27 offset on all four corners. Will put some 235/40/18 on the fronts, and then 265/35/18 on the rears. Old Setup, ran 20mm and 25mm hub centric spacers to make these fit and look great. Quick pics of the new setup, currently 265/35 tires on all the wheels, but they are all toast, getting new rubber next week. Rear: Front: Whole car....cant see the rear wheel, looks like a spare tire haha I am not going to upgrade the stock turbo yet, going to push it once the nistune board is in shortly.
  15. Storage has started, but one last trip on the mountain for a good drive. EBC and tuning won't happen until spring now....in the meantime Im thinking bigger injectors, MAF, and doing a hybrid turbo setup over winter. Any shops make the hybrid turbo anymore? I couldn't find much when I searched...
