Is there anyone that frequents the forum that has had the shift kit & trans cooler done in Adelaide that i could PM to find a decent auto trans mechanic?

Well its pretty hard to argue with that kind of backing! Spose ill need to book the bus in for a Tansco shift kit! This group buy, im assuming its only to NSW so id need to ship it to SA. Will it be cheaper to get MV Auto to get the part in and fit it?

Slightly off the purchase topic, but i spoke to the blokes at MV in Adelaide. They were under the impression that this mod was not a great way to spend money? They also said the 5spd box had little difference where as the 4spd made a significant difference (not in the NM/PM). Is this them speaking from a data point of view, not an owners point of view? The box is pretty terrible with response, i can only imagine it would be worse supporting more mods. I was getting all keened up to put this on the "to do" list but now im not so sure, from this thread there seems to be a pretty strong sense of money well spent.

Also if u do get new bearings and fixes the issue can u post the supplier details. Cheers

Hey mate, I have the identical issue with my axis. Over 40ks and it sounds like a airplane bout to take off! Have had tyres rotated, balanced and camber adjusted all to no avail. Also had 3 diffrent mechanics drive it and all conclude its tyres. Havent had coin to change em, so cant confirm or deny it being the fix. But im in the same boat and tyre's would be my outsourced opinion.

Mine doesnt light up either. Though the ing. barrel and the"auto" on the window switch are. seemed strange to me aswell.

Thanks Scotty, No, have not checked the plugs as yet. i hasn't been a major concern yet but thought id have a look and see if its a common or documented issue. I need to take the car in and get a decent service done, have the whole thing looked over properly. Ill get the plugs sussed/changed then depending on their condition.

Hey all, Each morning since ive had the car when cranking cold, after the starter motor cranks 3 or 4 times the motor turns over and revs pick up to 1000 - 1100rpm, then drop to 100ish rpm and cough and splutter for a few seconds then kick back up to 1000rpm till she gets warm. Ive read some issues with starters but mine seems to be more fuel mixture prob. Any one had similar problems?

Right so couldnt get the 34 rims as there sold. Are there any adelaideians (preferably south of the city) that have stockies or anything that i can borrow for a day or 2? Happy to pay in beer!

As a new stag owner this is a worrying thing to read, I assume day to day driving wont cause an issue? And if it were would standard mechs know n use these methods? Almost seems like moving to vic is the best way to keep these gals ship shape!

Yeah i spose that is true Scott, though the bank balance is stretched pretty hard after the purchase. Ill hit up the mate i purchased it from and swap back the R43 stockies an have a gander at the sound. They were on there for the test drive and i dont recall hearing the racket i do now!

Thanks Daleo, thats what im wantting to hear! Just swung it past the mechanic who told me that the tread pattern is super aggresive and that i could go "f**king 4wding with em" haha. Ill keep rolling around on them and see how they fair, if the noise increases ill change fronts to rear and see if the same noise follows. Failing that i guess ill keep afew hundred spare for a possible bearing replacment. Cheers guys.

Drove in to work this morning and after reading afew threads about front bearings starting to go payed more atention to load and cornering. Not a noise, nothing under about 40kmh regrdless of incline, cornering or acceleration. Few creaks here and there but i assume there just worn bushs and the like. I did however notice that the tyers (which are new with the purchase) are "Achilles", not a brand ive herd of. What are the chances there a crappy cheap tyre making a butt load of noise? Anybody else ran or running these? Clutching at (cheaper) straws!

Anyone had to replace bearings and have a price in adelaide. Found that afew folk on here have. Might get the local mech to have a look. Cheers brick.

Hey all! First post on here. Firstly, everyone thats contributed to this stagea section has done an outstanding job! I had a few other questions that we're quickly answered by having a search. My main issue and question is about the noise that seems to be coming mainly during rolling deceleration. Under acceleration he car moves well and feels good, though it does sound as if thermo fans/vacume or somthing similar are making a large amount of noise. Then once im off the throttle and the tacho shows the rpm drop, there no deviation in the noise untill I begin braking. I am in no way a mechanically savey person so all I can assume is its somthing rubbing, dragging and most likely expensive but I dont know where to start. Secondly, where and who are the best to deal with m35 alts in adelaide? Any ideas and or help will be greatly appreciated!
