  1. Ended up going with Justcar, NRMA was still a couple hundred dollars more expensive with a 65% no claim bonus. $2030 annually full comprehensive.
  2. I'm 22. Unfortunately LSV won't insure anyone under the age of 25 Thanks for the suggestion though!
  3. Hey Guys, Just bought a '96 R33 GTR V-Spec and I was wondering if any of you have any ideas on where the best place is to go for insurance? I've heard a lot of good things about both shannons and JustCar but was wondering if you had any opinions, stories or advice of any kind. At the moment the best price seems to be at JustCar, but I'm finding a lot of places won't even insure the car (I guess unsurprisingly). Thoughts? Cheers Mike Edit: I just found the thread on insurance, for whatever reason it didn't come up when I did a search of the forums, so if needs be this can be deleted. Otherwise I'd still love some fresh opinions! The other thread hasn't been updated since late 2012!
  4. Thanks guys, I've had this suggested to me by a couple other friends who are quite knowledgable/own skylines...I'll keep thinking and have a closer look at a few things when I see it this weekend. Cheers Michael
  5. Hi Everyone, My name is Michael, thought I'd post up here and say hi. I have idolised skylines my whole life and have finally got the finances to buy one, I will be going for a test drive and making the decision Saturday. If you'd like to help me with that I actually posted up a question about some possible damage in the engine bay, so please head over here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/440375-damage-on-cam-cover-rb26/ and give your opinion Anyhow, I cannot wait to become a skyline owner and experience everything that it entails. Cheers Michael.
  6. Hi Guys, I'm new to the forums and didn't know exactly where to put this thread, mods please feel free to move it to it's propper location and let me know for future reference. Essentially I am looking at buying my very first Skyline (I've wanted one for a decade but I finally have the money), I have done all the checks that I can think of and it seems like a great buy for the price and I am going for a test drive this weekend before I make a decision. It is an R33 GTR V-Spec. As close to stock as you can typically find these days. It's has twin pod filters and a turbo-back exhaust. Any suggestions on what to look out for when inspecting it are also welcome. (Have already read the thread on buying a skyline so have lots of ideas from there). According to the owner it has done 75,000kms. However! I wanted to ask the experts (you guys) what may have caused the damage on the cam cover that you can see in the attached picture? The paintwork is gone for some reason, owner didn't know as he has only had the car 1.5 years and it was like that when he got it. I guess any opinions on the overall condition as you see it would also be much appreciated but I just wanted to know what could cause the kind of marking you can see in the engine bay? Cheers, Mike
