Good to hear you got it all sorted
-
The engine has to get quite a bit of air to keep revs at 5k which is why i wouldn't think it could be a sensor. there sounds like something is wrong with the throttle body causing it to stay open or a big vac leak; any bolts missing on the plenum or anything?

Thanks for the overwhelming support already, I honestly thought being an NA skyline I'd be shunned a little to be honest! - Anyway, you asked for some pics!
I went to Wakefield yesterday (09/09/2014) - Was a great day, and while the 2 friends who came with me both had turbo's I wasn't too far behind in terms of time!
As I mentioned, I have an RB25 getting a rebuild with the following;ACL Race Bearings
OEM piston Rings
Tomei 256 poncams
Tomei Cam Gear to replace some china brand ssprocket
Full engine gasket kit
Timing belt and water pump kitHead rebuilt
Always fun getting a package from kudos
There she is, the RB25
Head off
Head going off to the machinist
Stay tuned for more! -
Congrats on the purchase! I can't help agree with it being an "upgrade"
Despite a few mentioned little problems you have it looks quite clean!- 1

Hello!
I've been lurking for a while and thought i'd share with you my project!
This is my 1990 Nissan R32 Skyline GTS
While non turbo (p-plates) it's a lot of fun, and i get my fare share of track time in it at wakefield
The car is slightly modified, including;
- R33 RB25DE Engine (VCT)- R32 Turbo Brakes w/ braided lines all round - DBA T2 Slotted Rotors all round and Ferodo DS2000 Pads
- R32 Viscous LSD
- HSD Coilovers
- HICAS locked
- Enkei RPF 01 Wheels (17x9+22 [Khumo KU31 - 235-45-R17])
- GTR Front bar, Front lip, bonnet, bonnet lip, front grille, wing and headlights all genuine items
- Bride Brix 1.5, Nardi deep corn and a nismo aluminium shift knob
- And a few other things i've probably forgotten
Over the past few months i have been preparing a turbo engine for the car, i've gone with the RB25DET from the R33 which is currently getting a refresher in preparation for the swapThanks for reading, can't wait to dump a whole lot of photos for you guys to enjoy!

It's fine, more embarrassing than anything if that bothers you at all haha
-
Had a similar issue with my nardi
I just pulled out the clock spring and ran a positive and negative wire to the button and works perfectly -
After changing the O2 sensor, fuel filter and a bottle of injector cleaner, the car seems to run noticeably smoother and cleaner
Thanks for the help -
"bangs per second" gold...
Ahhhh... kids these days.
How else do you explain the effect?!
-
how did it go?
Hey Mick
Filled the car up and put in a bottle of cleaner and went for a drive, definitely felt a little better about halfway through the tank, still a bit surge-y and splutter-y at times unfortunately but a little better, car feels nice when it's smooth!
My O2 sensor arrived which i put in last night but I'm yet to take it for a drive so we'll see how it goes
-
Also to add, i don't believe police like them as they are a possible fire hazard and/or brightly colored
-
I don't think they have a particular name, but they are called something like a reservoir sock? (Correct me if I'm wrong)
You can really use whatever, I've seen people use sweat bands and socks, anything with an elastic property of appropriate size would work.. i got cool little green one with project mu embroided into it free when i ordered some stuff from project mu because they sent my order late
You could cable tie a tea towel cut off or spare rag or something around it, doesn't really matter who makes it, all it will do is just soak up boiled fluids and get filthy real quick so i wouldn't go spending large amounts of money on a set of them -
That doesn't sound normal at all
I replaced the spark plugs quite recently and it was as dry as a bone, ill check again -
While I did try help, please don't discount the other replies
Using a BEE*R is a great way to destroy f**king everything, please take the other replies on board even if they are the exact opposite of what you wanted to hear -
Rather than coming here just to remind you BEE*R's are shit, ill shed a little bit of light
These are a pain in the ass to "tune" for the lack of a better word. You literally have to drive around hitting limiter over and over and over while playing with the little knob things
As for the yellow one (gain), adjust that one toward the right for more "bangs per second" or left for less; again for the lack of a better phrase.. - While the knobs keep turning, they do have limits in the software/code, so turning it all the way left for like 100 times will not f**k it up, it will just be at it's lower limit. try fiddling with this knob for more bangs. ALSO you will not spit fire and go bang bang every single time, it's quite random and sometimes will not make huge bangs, but sometimes will
To be honest, i have one in my 32, never use it and i would happily cut it out of my car if someone came over with cash -
Thanks Mick, i put a bottle in, unfortunately i don't drive the car that much so it might take a week or two to get the whole tank and bottle of cleaner through the injectors but we'll see how it goes

Keep up the great work mate! Should be ready to enjoy soon!

There's a ton of translated fuse box photos online, or simply look for a blow fuse.. Also check the connectors up the back, see if any are shorting out or a plug has come lose

Hi guys
A few details before we start
R32 Skyline Coupe
RB25DE S2 (Manual) - ~160,xxxkmRB25 Pink Label AFM
RB25DE S2 Manual ECU
BP 98 octane fuel
Basically what's happening is my revs bog down at around the 2.5k - 3.5k mark at around 1/4 - 1/3 Throttle and it sounds like it's surging almost? I had a similar problem recently throughout the whole rev range unless I had the throttle wide open so I ordered a new TPS and after installing and adjusting it that issue was solved however I'm still getting this strange bog down
So far I've replaced the Spark plugs, checked the coil pack loom for any wear but it looks quite clean and in good condition. I've recently replaced and adjusted the TPS, I've cleaned the MAF a few times now, replaced all the fluids, filters, air filter etc etc
I have coming from Nissan a new O2 sensor and fuel filter as i though these might be playing a part in the matter, I've also gone over the engine grounds to make sure nothing is going wrong. Should i be looking at a set of coilpacks? they look old/stock so they might've had it, im pretty baffled to be honest
My thoughts are that either the coilpacks are dying, or that it's running too rich (stinks of fuel lol, no idea of the o2 sensor history) and simply can't burn it all until i open the throttle more, I'll try find another AFM and see if that helps at alll
If anyone has some ideas to what I could try, please let me know Thanks! -
Never had a problem with them
Delivery time took around 2 weeks, not too bad
Would buy from again -
Also keep in mind that skylines of all ages are getting older now, an R34 with 20,000km's might be a little too good to be true so keep your guard up. As Charles said, look at the condition of the car rather than the KM's and base your decision on that
Best of luck! -
I think I've caught myself something! - Hopefully get over it in a day or two if all goes well
Love how it lines up with my 2 days off perfectly, just my luck! -
5" is way too big
Buying a good quality muffler and having it at the right size will be fine, forget 5" -
Gah I'm so excited!!!!
