Just had a long lunch with too much red, yummy Well, I have NO idea how to do motor work myself and if I did my back would say PO, I have to trust the experts, well with a little home work and help from you blokes. I have members that have PM me from SAU that have been guiding me through the process and from the results, it has been pretty good so far as the shitty car has turned into a good car and now I want it to turn into MY car.. I have the time and the $ to do what I want, so I guess I have been chasing the best way to get there so I can enjoy the results. The thing I do not understand is why some members on some forums want to shit on your dreams because it does not fit into theirs,or their idea of what an, R32 ,33,34 is in 2014, F not many cars can cop the attention the Godzilla created, so never shit on others dreams, so knockers, FO UP THE BLUES >

  4. Hi Scotty, yes I was talking to you and you are lucky you know what you are talking about. The only reason I am on this thread is because it was the only place I could find someone to get some help with what I am building. It is my first time really modifying a car and I needed all the help I could get, and I do from some of the guys and appreciate it very much. I had a certain image about the Rs, unfortunately it does not suit what I want from a car, so the 3.2L is something that will give me what I am after and then I can sell the 350GT. But I still say it is a R34GTR Skyline and I will leave any reference as it being a BNR26 out
  5. I am not a purest and you seem to be and I have no problem with that. I have been bombarded for year how good the Rs were, I bought one and because the build was in mid stream, it was a heap of shit and I want to have it the way I thought it would be, yes my fault for not going and driving a standard R34GTR to see what they were like, but what is, is! If you are so against what I want to achieve with my build, how come your car has mods , not happy with it?
  6. I loved that video, what a mad little car I have asked Jim about the head and fitment of the RB30 and he said, no probs with either of them . But we can tidy up all of my concerns once we get the quote and sign off on it. You have also bought up the next question I have asked, I need to be able to drive it as a DD and would not want it to spool TOO early, you need to be able to pass a gas station now and then So I will ask them to tune it (if they can) to be able to get around town, I guess if it does not start to spool at 2.5K ish that would do the job and allow you to drive on freeway etc without having the turbo blasting away when you do not want it. My 350GT turbos get going around 3k and this does drive OK in 110 zones, before anyone jumps on me, yes it is a V6 blah blah The 6262 starts to get involved at 3k ish and at 3.5 it is ready to use and gets going when you want from there. I did a stack of tests yesterday on this and have to be sure of when it will get going with the stroker installed. So far from what I have read it should be OK
  7. As a car bloke I thought you would understand. Never been a racer but did heaps of east coast runs over the years , great winding roads, not much traffic and when some of the roads were derestricted, those where the days but lucky to get some of the old cars over 80MPH and they did not like corners too much:) Did you have a stroker installed by Jim After buying the R34 and driving it home I never expected to be able to get the response I like but I think it will go close with the rebuild. Maybe my idea of response is nuts but I want the car moving ASAP without having to rev up and drop it, that is great for track and drag but a bad look on the street and only causes problems for us. By the way I do understand these cars were not really built to be a DD from day one. I just wish I had driven a standard R34GTR before I bought the one I did, I m sure I would have appreciated them more form the getgo but lovin it now Photos , gotta luvem Cheers Pete
  8. Hi Mick Did not get a second reply back from Rips NZ , but I guess he said it all, get it done in one go and that is what I will do at CRD. Also had an email talk to Jim and he said, done a few 3.2 Lt builds and no problems. Just glad they have had some practice He will modify the engine mounts and crossmember to rectify the height issue. I asked to see some Dyno before and after charts and he will send me something if he can. So it looks like I get the build done ASAP and looking forward to driving it :)

I totally agree with you and your FnF quote , BUT I do not give a shit if I stand by it, sit by it, roll along side of it in a wheel chair , I will drive it, not like FnF but real life crap.I love having the power there, the feel, the excitement and the joy of parking your ass in one big ass , kick ass car. I have had lots of cars starting from a 34 Ford coupe , Fiat,Dodge,Singer,Chevy,Holden,Ford,Toyota,Jag, Porsche,Nissan and more, loved them all, good or bad and pushed some of them further than I drove them. Pushed them all to there limits and did nutty crap in them, smashed a few, but it was all good and still is. BUT you do not have to be a racing driver to enjoy cars, fast cars, slow cars, whatever. I have lots of back up mods, OS quad, Nismo 2-way LSD,Walbro 460LPH fuel pump,Haltech Platinum Pro GTR ECU, HKS EVC6 Boost Controller, 3.5inch stainless custom exhaust system,PT6262 B Turbo ,Poncams B , all air, water and oil mods and most things needed to make this work and if something goes POP, I will get what is needed to fix it and make it stronger, just gota luv drivin and survivin

  11. Hi Brett It seems there are a few problems doing the stroker but if you could do it without the hassle, would you???? I am lucky I can afford to have the work done, drop the car off and pick it up , hassle free

Thats not very nice, you hurt my feelings I wanted to know about the RB30,Nitto 3.2Lt Stroker kit and find someone that can give me some feedback, Dyno before and after, anything, not a lesson on modern motors, but thanks for that it is interesting and you seem very knowledgeable and I would not dare cross swords with you on motors or cars. BUT TELL ME ABOUT THE STROKER REBUILDS, Will it get the magical torque I am desperate for,PLEASE

Yeh Ben, I am an oldie with monie after working my butt off all my life and retired now "I am living the dream", an R34GTR and going to get it moving, F I am in heaven already My new mods can be used with the stroker, so all good. I will ask the builder to look into the Neo head and now going to find out what it is, haha, thanks
  14. Thanks Mick, Dynos are with the T78 that was on it when I bought the car, had to put the boost controller on to get it tuned, then with PT6262 and custom exhaust. Different car to drive.. It is 345awkw now and good to drive as a DD and I want more response. The 6262 kicks in about 3.5k. Parts , HKS EVC 6 Electronic Boost controller , custom 3.5 inch exhaust, PT6262B , poncams B, Modified engine internals, Haltech ECU, 2-way LSD, OS Quad clutch, water, oil etc modified, walbro fuel pump and all of the things that go with these parts. So there is a lot going on under the hood, good/bad ?? So you understand why I am after the response, I have a 350GT with the APS TT system on it and you touch the peddle and it is OFF and running, no building revs as it has torque, I cannot understand why going from 2.6 to 3.2Lt , .6Lt more will only get you a modest 200 to 300rpm better response, bloody cars :)

Well 8k does not work that well on the street its not a good look, while you lag around all over the place I have street tyres 255/40/18 and the only time I can have a good go at it is on a friends private Rd. I did an 8k launch after the changes and all wheels spinning and still spinning in 2nd,( I was a bit slow at hitting 2nd ) whats the good of that when you can get a bit of spin around 6k, bite and take off without lag,I would be 100mtr down the road while I would be just smoking it up, I thought that finding that sweet spot for your car to launch was what it is all about? When I have the changes done I expect I can do the same launch at 5k and love it, but I do not know anything about track/drag and I am probably wrong as I am just getting into my car, but I like it my way
  16. Unfortunately I have never driven another R34GTR, I bought this car because I liked the look and there has always been a shat load of hype for the R3s. The car had a T78-33D on it, motor had the internals mods and it was the worst car I have ever driven, a laggy gutless heap , unless you took it to 7 to 8k and launched it and your head nearly fell off I was disappointed but tried to get some answers and that is why I ended up here on SAU and started to get the car more drivable as a DD. I still do not know a lot but I know the changes I have made up to date has made the car 10 times better as a DD and a 5.5K launch gets it going without lag 7k is just wasting the energy but fun. I wanted a smoother power band that keeps going and I think from what I have read and been told this is a pretty good way to do it and will give me a very tough street car that wont go pop if you work it hard, well I hope
  17. This is basically what Jim said because I am after low end response and utilize all of my recent mods and use the existing head, I will ask if he intends to port the head. He is working towards what I want, response for a tough DD and keep the costs down where he can without jeopardizing the build . One that can be changed if I ever wanted to go for power up top. I know there are many ways to go with this and I could get some serious HP but I do not really want it up top so I will go with what he has recommended for my requirements. I will ask about getting some more lift and see what he has to say. We have only spoke about this today and there probably be other suggestions to look at as we tie up the loose ends and get a better idea of the cost involved, that is the scary part,haha Thank you all for your input

I have been reading and waiting, waiting, I was hoping for some info by now as I am about to commit to having the RB30 block and Nitto 3.2Lt stroker for my R34GTR and there is not a lot of info to be found. I am after response ,was very laggy, now with a smaller turbo and poncams it is 345awkw, tuned for response and I was wondering what the 3.2 stroker will add , I would hope a shat load more torque. Anyone out there that has or knows someone that has the 3.2Lt stroker kit on a R34GTR, maybe some dyno figures, I am after torque but it would give me an idea from 2.6L to 3.2L R34GTR before I spend a lot of $s. I have tried to find the answers and this is as close as I got, so do not answer if you are going to say do your homework, I was not very good at school
  19. What is it with these cars, once you start playing with them it is hard to stop until you get close to what you wanted. I want more Torque, still do and looking into getting a Nitto 3.2lt Stroker kit,from what I have read I have many of the mods needed to support any extra KW/HP and it will give me the Torque that I am after. If I do this, did I waste the money I just spent changing to the PT6262 and the Poncams B. I am still doing my homework, been looking on SAU and got nothing so far but I am sure it is here somewhere??

  21. There is a lot more to these cars than I thought and very interesting. I am lucky to know people with private property and a quality road to use but I have to tell the family when I am doing it As soon as I get a chance I will follow your instructions and see how I go. Thanks for your tip
  22. That is what I mean, with that power 458 AWKW doing 10.8 and your R32 at 293AWKW doing 11.13, 1.5 secs difference and 165AWKW to get that 1.5 seconds What would you have to do to get under 10secs ??
  23. It seems that once you get to a certain power, it then takes a lot more to knock off a second and heaps to get under 10 secs. Your car is about 100 AWKW more than mine, what does that do the 1/4 in?
