  1. Nistune is expensive here in Japan. Only two places does it. The place wants over 1000 dollars to tune it. From what I have read and been told on this forum, it should only be about 300-500 dollars for a tune. The computer is tuned for myset up for a r32 gtst-t. Since I have this clutch anyway, is it good to use or is it for high horse power and will driving on the street be uncomfortable?
  2. Hello I have a r32 GTS-T Currently I have the intake, full turbo back exhaust, intercooler and boost controller on the car. I am about to upgrade to a rb25 turbo, a tuned Tomei computer that is for my set up with a GTR fuel pump, and a 25 turbo, I think it is a boost up tune,. Not sure how much of a boost up tune it is. Will my stock clutch handle this? Someone gave me a ACT 6 puck un-spring clutch kit. http://www.rawbrokerage.com/act-6-puck-un-sprung-xt-clutch-kit-rb20det-rb25det-630ft-lbs/ Is this overkill for my set up? Will this be uncomfortable to drive on the street?
  3. Hello My car has pod, fmic, full turbo back 3inch exhaust with a sports cat, and a stock turbo. The HKS EVC V that I installed in the car is cool. I have it set to 13.7 psimax incase I get boost creep, that way it hopefully wont ever go over 14 psi. Went out and drove the car to set the settings in the EVC. I can notice that the car seems meaner lol. It feels like it drives alittle more aggresstively. I dont know if it is me imagining this or if its real lol. The sound from the exhaust is deeper. It feels different driving it even off of boost. The rpm seems to climb faster and it seems I have a bit more power in lower gears. The car has a after market bov(the previous owner installed it because the stock one died) and it makes a loud noise when I hit boost now. I dont like that, dont want to attract the attention of cops. I found another stock bov, I might put it on. So is this usally the changes that come with putting a boost controller on a car?
  4. Hello I learned about 550cc injectors made by a comapny called Deatschwerks. I tried finding info about them on the web and cant find many reviews. I have read that people use them but no one has really put up a review about them. Does anyone know if they are good injectors for the rb20 or should I stick with Nismo, Sard, or Tomei?
  5. Which would be better, this or your high flow service?
  6. Thank you. I have researched so many ways of people doing something, including the oil. I have a GTR fuel pump. Dont know how old it is, just thinking that maybe whatever parts I put on such as injectors, pumps, etc, should be new if it is old. Had a fuel pump go out before, wasnt good. But if the moto is as long as it works its ok when it comes to fuel pumps, I will install it. So the oil part seems settled unless anyone has other suggestions. So apparently what I researched from the different sites before, the people didnt know what they were talking about.
  7. You dont get it do you? Say or blow away! Look I research plenty, this site, other sites, etc. Many of the post that links to other posts on this site doesnt work anymore. Some threads are hundreds of pages long. Today I have spent 3 hours before work researching things. Oil for example. I researched that the RB25 and 26 and even the 20 are weak about oil. They leak easy, the oil pump is not all that great. N1 is what other people said they were using. The sump on the 26 or 25 can cause problems when hitting high horse power, the major cause of RB dying are oil problems mainly from the oil pumps going out, etc. Today is not the first time that I read about that. Some things get better as new products come out. I have read old posts from 11 years ago where people didnt know much about a certain thing or maybe the products out at the time wasnt the best to do a certain thing, but now there are better ways to do things and new products. So when I read things and find the same remarks across mutiple sites I ask questions. Sometimes people dont mention what they did to solve a problem. I have my resources too. I have the rb20/25/26 factory engine service manual for example. Ive used it to help me do things on my first skyline. But having a manual or readling something doesnt always give you insite to the correct way to do something or the complete info that you need. So I ask and if someone can help me than I am grateful. So before you start telling me what I need to do about searching, why not try helping and suggesting as part of that. I do not need any spectators, time is money. I am doing things that I havent done before on my car. I want to make sure I do it as correct as possible. If I cannot find a answer after researching, I ask questions. I have had turners tell me certain things should be changed on the car when upgrading, Oil pump, etc. Mines Japan told me I would need a metal head gasket if going for 350 to 400 hp. Some people have told me I dont need to. Their are going to be some differences as I have learned from talking to people on this site when tuning my car. The weather and climate, and gas to a point in Australia and Japan are different. I research lots, especially when I am about to do something. I have changed many things on my other car and the car I have now such as turbo's (20 to 25 on my first car), fuel pumps, rotors, hubs, whole link assemblys, changing injector seals, calipers and rotors( 32 to 32 gtr), installed a fmic(cutting the whole for the piping, etc), tie rod ends, upper arms, installing gauges, most recently electronic boost controller, etc. I didnt have the same mods on my first car that I have on this car now. My first car was a auto, this one is a manual. My first car didnt have a fmic, this one does, etc. But I research first. I use the manual when I can understand whats going on. When I dont, I ask for help. When doing something for the first time, I make sure to talk to someone who has done what I am going to do first to help me from messing up something.
  8. Not going to waste my time with you. You don't have to help if you don't won't too. How do you know what I've read? In order for me to ask something apparently I have to have read or researched something. Take your stuff and stay off my thread if not going to help.
  9. Ok I will look into it more, R34 is nice but there are other more important things to spend 30000 dollars on than a r34 gtr at this point.
  10. New thread new question. Not going to ask abunch of questions in one thead and not get the answers I am needing. I research and if cant find the answers or dont understand, I ask questions. I want to take care of my car. When I learn something, I do it and learn more. Plus the more I learn, the more things I discover that I didnt know about before and I dont understand or know about, the more I research and if cant find answer, I ask questions. Ok so I will stick with stock oil pump. It may be time for a timing belt change (not sure if the previous owner did it or not, he probably did but dont want to take a chance) the car is about 110,000km. Its a 90 model. If not nessecary, than I wont change the pump. I will do the oil cooler. I am going to change the cam cover gaskets( oil very slowly comes out over time, not much, I have notice that this happens on the rb engines after a while) The car is 24 years old so want to start changing the rubber parts that are worn or leaking.
  11. Hello I have a r32 gts-t with a rb 20 det. I am researching about rb engines and I have read many times about how RB engines (20,25,26) have weakpoints at the oil pump, and crank coller, and the sump. So is it a good idea to replace the oil pump with a N1 pump? What exactly is a crank coller and should I replace it in my engine if I change the oil pump? I have learned from previous questions I asked that having a oil cooler is a good idea for any rb engine. What other precautions should I take as far as having a good engine and not having any oil problems? I plan to use the car for daily driving, highway and sometimes at the track(to just go fast).
  12. I live in Japan Early model r32 gtr getting expensive because can be imported back to the states legally now. 91, 92's and 93's are still ok. Why is the RB25 neo a better option? I reseached putting Rb25's in(non neo) and it seems to be difficult because of the wiring and so on. R34 GTR still close to 30000 dollars here. I like the idea of the ITB on the 26.
  13. Hello As I build up my r32 gts-t, I am learning things. I will now see what it is like to drive with a boost controller on the car. Later a turbo upgrade. Wondering, if later I want more power, is it better to put a rb 25 engine in the car and upgrade? Put a rb26 in the car and upgrade? Or just save money for a while and get a r32 gtr? Will the features on the GTR be worth it or will putting a bigger engine in be better and more cost effective and sensible? I have researched what the engines can do, just wondering what would be the most sensible route.
  14. Hello I have researched here and on other forums but the questions I have specifically there are no clear answers. I have spent hours researching on this site and others. If I ask questions, its because I cannot find the answer or I dont understand. Thank you for helping, I have learned lots.
  15. Thanks But too expensive for the conversion here in Japan. Plus the yearly taxes involved the registration fee. Better to put a 26 if going to pay the money.
  16. Thank you for any all advice you have given me, but the questions I am asking are ones that I have never asked before. I haved learned lots and now have a clearer understanding of what is good to do.
  17. Yes the RSR, the sticky ones. Oh ok I understand now. How about the Nismo caster arms? If I do put adjusting I can only go with IKEYA formula, because they are the only aftermarket suspension parts company that is legal for road use besides Nismo. Ok wheel size. So for the 17x8 the 235/45-17 can fit on the front or is this the back?
  18. Ok thanks I have the hiscas delete, I am looking into Federals for the sticky tyres, I am looking into the steel brake lines, had to change the front upper arms to Nismo, my car failed inspection because a stock arm was bad. Nissan Japan wide was out of stock upper arms and they said that the Nismo bushing would not fit stock arms. So I ordered the Nismo upper arms. I am going to put Nismo suspension on. I have the rear upper arms also. So buying all of the arms slowly. My shocks are HKS Hypermax IIIs. Are adjustable caster rods the same as tie rod ends(pillow ball ends)? If so I dont want to put aftermarket on again. My first r32 gts-t I put aftermarket adjustable ones on and it was great for cornering but the ride sucked. Its was too hard. I am looking into the BMC stopper also. I put the metal subframe bushing spacers on the whole rear subframe to help until I get the new bushings from Nismo. 8" tires would be 225's? I have 214 17 45 on the front and 225( or 235) 17 45 on the back. I think I have AA rated tires on front and back. They are good brands. But I am going for the Federals. Thanks
  19. Whatever If you dont want to post dont, how do you know what I am listening to or not?
  20. I read up more on engine combustion and engines with turbos. I understand the basic principle, iginition, timing, fuel, air. I also read how the manufactorers tune cars from the factory to try to stay as close to the 14.7.1 air/fuel ratio settings to keep the car from running rich or lean. Is this one of the values that a tuner tries to keep when tuning a car? Do you know where I can get good imformation about what values I need to look for when tuning?
  21. Hello I have a r32 GTS-T with pod, fmic, full 3 inch turbo back exhaust with a split turbo down pipe and sports cat, electronic boost controller(setting boost to 14psi), Nismo 2 Way LSD and soon a bigger turbo, injectors, fuel pump, Nismo sports GT clutch and flywheel. I am aimming for 400hp. When do I need to change the transmission to a RB25 transmission? Or can I strengthen this tranmission by aftermarket gearing?
  22. Hello I have a r32 gts-t with pod, fmic return flow, full 3 inch turbo back exhaust with a split turbo down pipe, sports cat, after market blow off valve, coil packs moved to the outside of the engine next to the wind shield wiper motor with some kind of aftermarket ignition wires connecting them and the spark plugs( this was done by the previous owner), Nismo 2 Way LSD and now a electronic boost controller. Besides getting a bigger turbo, metal head gasket, bigger injectors and higher flowing fuel pump, adjustable cam gears, after market cams, and a tune, what else can I do to increase the performance of this car? Engine wise or otherwise? I want to keep up with Toyota MK IIs, Toyota Crowns, WRX STI, EVOs, Cameros, Chargers, Challangers and 370 Zs.
