  1. Horn.. but the shopping trolley double spoiler can go
  2. ok cool that makes sense.. though I have seen 96 models with blue http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=8658
  3. I've noticed that R33 GTR's have 2 different colour seat trims, even within the same colour type car. Red & Blue Could someone explain what years / series came out with which or if they're different specs etc!?
  4. Sure noted.. I was really talking about all the great road FR's proven by the past, though your right a mid engine car should ultimately be the track layout of choice.
  5. Let it be said any of them would blow you away. Though here's my personal preference reasons: 1st Choice Evo 8 MR There was an Evo 8 MR on jspec going for 35 though you'd prob be looking a few grand more. This particular one is way too much (already in OZ) though it's a looker and good to see how porn these cars can look, note the evo 9 front bumper that you can buy aftermarket. Watching a lot of BMI videos I started noticing how well the Evo's were doing even when pitted up against R34 GTR's and NSX's. There are heaps of races where they took it out or came second from a near back of the pack race. Sure the smaller tsukuba track might have slowed the gtr's.. though it's nothing to sneeze at and I'm pretty sure the lap record there is held by an Evo. Interior - well whilst not up to European specs and some say not quite as good as the new sti.. though I've had a look in a few from dealerships and they are svelt! In a different league to the 33 GTR naturally with the age difference. 2nd Choice RX7 S8 spirit r pic.. but you get the drift Now you couldn't argue with the saucy looks. I've always wanted one, though perhaps it's because I bought an FC early this year that I've fed some of that enthusiasm for a rotar. Also I think the Evo can hold it's own in the aesthetics sakes especially when going for that JDM look.. but ultimately the RX7 is still a classy beast and in the end of the day should win on appearance no matter what. Performance wise they can own race tracks from factory.. though some could be forgiven for wanting more torque down low, I'm sure some of the rotary owners and readers on this forum may suggest that this can be addressed.. though it's still a factor in my books. But Power can be made very easy on these motors, and now having owned an FC for a while I wont have a bar of all that "rotaries are unreliable crap.' If you don't service, don't warmup and cool down and abuse them then they will break.. but so will the longevity of any car. Being rear wheel drive will concern some and excite others, though when all is said and done you will be scared in the wet when compared to the other two and getting it off the line takes a whole bunch more skill to even stay close the the other two. On the other hand FR is the ultimate layout for purists. Interior is good, could be an issue for taller drivers. I'd say not as nice as the evo, though I've never seen inside a s8 in person so I could be corrected there. Also looks a little bit plasticy (i've also heard that about the evo) I'm sure both use much cheaper spec plastics than any luxo european car out there. Can get leather though. 3rd R33 GTR V-spec You all know what a 33 looks like. Sure I wanted this car so hard for good many years, managed to get a worked R32 gtr instead of which I loved.. though start of this year she detonated and that's all she wrote. If it would have been 1 or 2 years earlier than today I'd have upgraded to the 33.. though things have moved along in the auto world and as like someone said I can slightly see the 33 showing a little age when compared to 2002+ cars. This won’t mean a thing to some of you but that’s your choice. Power wise we'll this is where the GTR comes into it's own. Down low power and top end performance enough said. This has been playing on my mind as in the next few months I'm going to be importing the evo.. and 2l 4 cylinders starts to ring out will it have that awesome rip you into the back of your seat I experienced in the 32? Interior - well already mentioned, as they are older cars. As your all already skyline owners with a good number of guys out there with R32 GTR's, it's a healthy take on things to look at other HPI's. Some will be Nissan die hards.. then your choice is easy, I personally would like to diversify. Food for thought. the other HPI's out there and Euro's as people have already posted I haven't wanted to own as badly as the above mentioned.. Supra only just scraped out.
  6. EVO 8 MR JDM > Mazda FD S8 > 33 GTR
  7. Yerr street racing is a no no, just blasting to the speed limit of course Pesky WRX's
  8. I agree the Legnum looks better, and sure the Galant is great.. though getting owned by a wagon is waay more sleeper. My only concern would be how difficult it is to mod the mitsubishi compared to the 2jz which workshops have had planty of experience with and the fact that the engine is bulletproof. hey, not really.. I sold the car to a friend, whom put his own 33 gtr engine he had into it, I was actually contemplating buying that engine though lucky I didn't as it went pop a few months down the track. So no Nissan's for me, though I picked up a cheap FC and rebuilt that as a change.
  9. Yes I'm bored.. though at some stage I'm going to purchase an automatic luxo cruiser 2nd car I quite fancy these two: What do you guys think would be the better sleeper and best all rounder etc Toyota Aristo 3L TT Mitshubishi Legnum 2.5L T 4wd (would have to be full leather interior of course) The 2Jz is kind of hard to look past, although with the 4wd of the legnum I'm not sure which would be the fastest.
  10. On Clarkson Unleashed the chick from 5th Gear Vicki Butler-Henderson drives a Gun Metal Grey 600hp R32 GTR Clarkson also drives a 32 GTR on the Meet the Neighbours Japan episode opr was it Car years eitherway it's on of the very old videos.. he even talks about drifting and there are Japanese dudes in old skool pastel shirts etc. I'm just hanging out for Top Gear to eventually test the new GTR around the Top Gear test track.
  11. Hey Big Rizza, Did you ever find out the answers to any of the above questions - thinking about getting a soarer tt as a second car. Cheers
  12. Hey there, I'm aware of the RZ supra & GTT pole, though I have to ask as these cars are fairly similar in price and performance etc. For those who have had experience in/with either what do you think? My younger sister is going to buy a car and she's keen for either a Mitsubishi FTO GP vR or a Toyota Supra SZ I think they'd both be excellent cars - The FTO has the mivec (same as vtec) and it sounds pretty farrking awesome, then again the SZ for a NA hauls ass like, what do you guys recon??
  13. Umm are you joking? The Porsche Cayman is a compromised model to suit those wanting more than the Boxter and that cannot afford a 991. The only reason that car is there is too fill holes in the marketing department!! I recall Top Gear bagging it because whilst it was smooth and did things alright that it did indeed lack the Passion you so speak of. Point to point around the Top Gear test track my money is on the new GTR eating the Cayman, and the presenters making a general point thats way more generous and encouraging than the Cayman.
  14. http://www.mazda.com.au/ whaaaaaaat.. couldn't resist
  15. The music in the trailor is moby - whispering wind
  16. I tried a search but couldn't find anything Has anyone setup a water injection kit? Are there any KW gains? Is it dodgy for the engine and can it screw up.. inturn screwing your engine? Water Injection here is a link to a website that advocates them, just would like to hear peoples experience with them as it seem like a nice relatively cheap performance mod. Cheers
  17. Hey guys, I've always wondered why different manufacturers mount the brake calipers (typically front calipers) in different positions ie lower back or higher front or directly perpendicular to the coil-overs. surely Porsche or Ferarri would have placed it their particular way for a good reason, I guess it's all about chassis balance when braking etc.. though can anyone elaborate.. why is one method better that the other?
  18. How can you go past the best looking car to come out of Japan RX-7 is pure refinement with an incredible amount of road holding straight out of the factory, oh and did I mention it looks porn!!
  19. What is traction like in Series 8's? Now that my I've sold my r32 shell because of engine rebuild I'm looking for a newer car that is a bit of a change from skylines. I'm still tossing up between an EVO 7 for 35k or S8 FD RX7
  20. How did the Evo go out of interest? and why does Japan continue to export watered down versions of evo's & sti's to other countries, ok maybe the US has really strict emission laws, though for Australia?
  21. Different circumnstance, but anyway a few years back I was travelling along in ye'ol Adelaide town when a surge of wind swung out a link of those orange and white protection barriers accross from the other side of the road and hit my car (it didn't have any ballast in it - having said that I've never really seen any filled with water or the like). That was my old gtst with a vielside body kit on and it smashed up the front left hand corner and skit skirt pretty bad. I just went straight to the police office filled out a report then I went to a crash repair joint and got a quote then just wrote the council a letter expecting them to pay for my bodykit damage, referenceing police report, quote etc. Got an apology letter from the concils legal department and was sent a check, It didn;t even take that long. Good luck mate
