  1. Haha I wish but on budget for new car
  2. Mine start to smell If I ride it too much. which I really shouldn't do but sometimes get lazy. Or if I flog it and drop the clutch off the line. If it happens straight away when you start it i'd say it's on it's way out. Shouldn't happen that quickly. But I'm no mechanic.
  3. How is it off topic? Title is questions on insurance claims. To me that's dead on topic. This can help someone before the same or similar situation happens.
  4. How much is the increase guys? I already pay 2000 a year for my car if you can work out by the percentage
  5. Written off for paint? what happens to the car? I don't understand who keeps it, get's the money.
  6. 12k is okay for a ferrari respray. not a skyline. I could buy 2 decent gtst r33s for that price
  7. I know there's a number of reasons why. Drifting is one.
  8. Do you know what hicas is? The bar locks the back wheels in place. without it they slightly turn. He may have used it for drifting.
  9. Okay so I found a website that is exactly what I was looking for. Under new laws of August 2014 in NSW This just saved me buying a n/a s15 when I can buy a turbo s15 Spec R. Even the Spec R 200SX is legal. I'm guessing that's the best P plater car. Legal ; S15 200SX Spec R (Turbo), s15 200sx Spec S (Turbo), S S15 Autech (N/a), R33 GTS, Supra SZ Banned; S2000, R33 GTST, WRX, Supra RZ If anyone want to add to this list go ahead! Website i used; http://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au/stayingsafe/drivers/youngdrivers/vehicle-restrictions.html
  10. I just want confirmation on which cars are legal.
  11. Sorry, I didn't read the question properly. I didn't see fully respray. Probably better to go insurance because resprays are north of 2-3k. Try and get them to take it to a place that you trust so they don't give it to someone who does a dodgy job. get as much out of them as you can for making you pay an excess so high.
  12. To my understanding 130kw per tonne is the law. Doesn't matter if turbo or n/a. Making the S15 Autech the best p/w ratio followed by Supra SZ and then the R33 GTS. My friend said he has a turbo s15 aus spec. which I assume is over p/w and illegal. I currently have r33 but I'm looking to buy the s15 autech because it's newer and cleaner. I'm on my L's atm so the new laws apply to me. (not allowed a s2k). Cheers. (sorry if this topic has been posted before, I couldn't find specific to nsw on these cars)
  13. My excess is 1k as well, so unless it's stolen or written off, I'd do it myself privately. I wouldn't because insurance goes up every year / month. Depends how bad but it sounds like it would be cheaper for you to do it private.
  14. Depends how much you want to spend. Do you want a professional job? Are you planning to build your car and keep it? My mate got his 180sx resprayed for 2k and it looks pretty good imo.If you live in NSW I can't ask him who did it if you want
