  1. The Torque Trophy race meet was on last weekend. Did another PB of 1:05.66. The camera battery died on the 1st lap of race 3. As the last race was a top 10 reverse grid I had the honour of starting on Pole. Unfortunately on the 2nd last lap I binned it into the sand pit at Kolb corner. 2. It is always fun when everyone is playing nicely. Cheers

  5. The guards are custom hand made by the previous owner. Is running a 25/30 with GT35 @ 18psi, 38mm wastegate,Dry Sumped, 1,000cc injectors, E85, PPG straight cut dog box. Fully forged race built engine. I have a dyno sheet showing 583 RWHP at 6,500 rpm and then it lost traction. Red line is currently at 8,000 rpm. Car is a Sports Sedan and easily does a 60 second lap at Barbagallo. Haltech computer and dash, 6 pot front and rear willwood calipers on performance friction rotors, pedal box. 10in front slicks and 12in rear slicks. Straight pipes to the side unmuffled with screamer pipe into the main to reduce noise to stop getting pinged for excessive noise at the track.
  6. Thanks. I am not sure on spring rate, when these were installed the I asked the guys to give me a street/track setup as it was regularly used on the road back then. It seems to be working. Then today I picked up my new race car to compliment this one. With this in it This currently makes my garage pretty much perfect RB goodness
  7. Went for a tuning day today and I am very happy with the brake upgrade results. The car felt strong and stable under hard braking. The real test will be tomorrows race meeting. Videos will be coming next week.
  8. No not yet, i expect they may take a week or so.
  9. Alcons are 330mm rotors, I am using 17" rims. The rears was a try it out sort of thing. I was thinking of making dog bones to be able to mount the front standard calipers on the rear rotor. Will be trying this setup at the track this Friday on a tuning day before racing on Saturday. So no time for changes. The big news will be announced next week some time which will see some massive changes in the off season to nearly everything here and has me extremely excited and nervous at the same time. Stay posted as it does have me in a conundrum at the moment.
  10. So I have been busy with work and a bit slack in updating this thread. I scored a Alcon brake kit from Tuner Warehouse at a good price. While fitting the kit I also decided on trying out the Holford rear big rotor upgrade as well. I have well and truly got the maximum out of the standard size rotors and calipers. My front calipers have been overheated, the front rotors had metal melting in the slots, the rear pads had been overheated and are white around the edges. So I pulled out my trusty mini lift and got the car up in the air and the conversion started. We only had a minor problem with the Alcon brackets but Tuner Wareouse have sorted a short term fix whilst we wait for new mounting brackets to be machined up. I have had a test drive up and down my street to bed in the pads and the thing is awesome. It is much touchier on the pedal than before, so I think I may be losing the booster soon and installing a pedal box. I will be taking it to Barbagallo Raceway this Friday for a tune day to get used to it and then back on Saturday for the race meeting. Anyway, here are the pics of the brake upgrade: Before Car up on my hoist Front rotor size difference Stone Guard on Stone Guard Off Rear Rotor Difference Rear Fitted Rear Wheel back on Front Fitted (shit phone spec pic)
  11. They should arrive tomorrow. They will be next weekends job along with fabricating (hopefully) some better brake ducting. Will post pics once done.
  12. If you know anyone with hats for 2 piece rotors for the rear brakes, point them in my direction.
  13. Machine gun question time Got a front set of 4 pot Alcon's brand new for an awesome price. When we get around to building a new engine after this one pops, the plans currently are to fully forge a 25 (something different instead of a 26 or 25/30) with a GTX35R, I think my tuner prefers adaptronic computer (currently nistune) I am not sure on the rear housing size of the 2835 - it is PRO kit. Currently running 350rwhp (260RWKW). I run the car in 2 different types of events, both are CAMS regulated and I am not sure if the WMI is allowed.
  14. It is addictive and the next race is forever away, 2nd October and the next sprint is not until 22 September. Faaarken shit schedule this year. I was way too nice in the wet on the reverse grid race. 2 reasons, 1st was I did not want to stuff up anyone point scores since I am a mid year new entrant and 2nd it has been 8 or more years since I have driven on the circuit in wet weather. Being the new boy on the block my aim was to finish. I will be less generous over time as I learn my place. Ordered new brakes front brakes today, pics will be up soon.
  15. So after a lot of tooing and froing I have made a decision. All feedback has been welcomed and appreciated. I appreciate the time you have taken to write down your thoughts. I looked at some of the Taiwan stuff but the wear of rotors and cost of replacement rotors did not make sense to me. You have to remember I am in WA so always getting hit for shipping $$$$. I have purchased a brand new set of 4 pot 335mm Alcon kit for the fronts at a huge discount to retail. My build has always been to a budget but sometimes I am happy to spend the coin on certain areas that I believe will yield a return in performance, safety or long term cost effectiveness. I will update my build thread when received and installed. After this I need to sort out the rears which I think will be custom hats, dog bone to 299mm performance friction callipers. Not as expensive as you would think according to the quote I received.
  16. A reasonable budget, it depends on what is on offer. Currently I have P1 Racing 17x8 +22, I am lokoing to move to a 17x9 (unsure of offset yet). I am currently using standard calipers and DBA4000 on the front and standard rear rotors. I am melting the DBA4000's. My thoughts are to go to a bigger caliper and rotors. Planning on using 2 piece Performance Friction rotors front (they are cheeking atm if they can custom up a set of rear hats. I use the car for sprints and now racing at Barbagallo (WA), this track is very hard on brakes. I know I need larger rotors and a better cooling setup. I have been thinking about GTR Brembo calipers front and rear for the extra 8% pad coverage with 330mm fronts and 300mm rear rotors.
  17. Hi, I have a R33 GTS-T and I am looking to upgrade my brakes to the largest calliper and rotor combo that I can fit under 17" rims. I am looking for 2 piece floating rotors but if you do not have rotors that is ok as I am just as happy to purchase rotors brand new. The car is a track car. Message me with what you have with price, a photo and location.
  18. So last Sunday was my debut at a race meet with the car. WOW, did I have so fun. HELL YEAH. I qualified 9th (17 entries). The first race was awesome but scary at he same time. The start was scary but I had fun chasing a Fiat turbo. I started 6th I the 2nd race as it was a reverse grid and it bucketed down with rain right before the event and there was some showers during. So I took the pussy approach and just let everyone past me and then just got on with it. The third race I started 9th and finished the day out in 8th position and beat a PB by the slightest of margins of 0.05 sec quicker. In summary I need 2 things: 1) an extra 150 hp 2) the next race meeting, oh man am I hooked hard Anyway below is the in car videos of each race. Qualifying Race 1 Race 2 - Reverse Grid Race 3
  19. Thanks, I will do some more research and use the cut out template to see if the 343mm will clear the P1's. I am looking at keeping the 17x8 on slicks for transport and sprints and use the 17x9 on R comp tyres (rules are rules) for racing.
  20. I have a R33 GTS-T and am currently looking at the 2 and link of Alcon front and rears (365 front and 350 rear). The car is now 100% used for racing and sprints. I am a real noob when it comes to this stuff. Will these fit under my P1 racing 17x8 rims with a 22 offset? I am also looking to buy a couple set of Enkei's rims in 17x9 and am unsure of what offset I will need to fit these brakes and the car without cutting or flaring the guards.
  21. you are miles away if you are comparing apples with apples. The Tilta with a few option would come in at $8k rego and GST Nevco price: http://www.nevco.com.au/products-services/specialty-trailers/
  22. Not much has happened recently. A 2nd hand gearbox went in this week and feels so much better. decat pipw and a straight through exhaust with a small hot dog replaces the muffler and now it sounds a bit tougher. It will be getting a dyno run this coming Thursday to check everything and then bang 28th July is my first race meet. It has been stickered up again and looking good.
