  1. but but the electronic ones have colorful lights and features ull prob never use or know what they mean lol on that note i have the power fc boost controller kit just coz i have a power fc going in. Otherwise id just get one of those bleeders or hi-low stage manual controller.

  5. If the bov is plumbed back into the intake ( like the stock bov is ) then it is legal. Removing or blocking the bov will cause comp surge. Some believe this creates shaft play and can stuff the turbo. From all the things ive read about this i personally think it doesnt harm the turbo at all. Yes i am no expert but i have known many cars and read many stories of people running no bov for years and have taken the turbos off and nothing was wrong with it. This being the case i would do as others have said and leave the stock bov on with a boxed pod or airbox with high flow panel filter. Less cop hassles. From what i once read car manufacturers put these plumbed back bov's on because when people would come to buy a new car, they wouldnt want it 'dosing' everywhere as it would possibly put the buyer off. When you go to buy a new car you want it to be smooth and quiet.
  6. Agreed. Cigarette lighter wires are the easiest ones to use. If you want the guage light to come on with ur stereo use the accessories wire from the stereo. If you want the guage light to come on with ur ignition then use ur multi meter to find a wire that is 12v when ignition is on and 0 V when ignition is off. In the same way if you want it to come on with ur parking lights find the wire in the cigarette lighter that is 0V when off and 12V when parker lights are switched on. I use wire taps to connect up the wires. I find this the easiest way.

  11. Good info FineLine. I have tried a few diff ways off launching and best results in the gtr came from just reving 6000+ rpm and dropping the clutch. I know something will break sooner or later but it gives best results. I'm aiming for an 11 with stock turbos. I know others have done it so i know its possible. Mid 11 perhaps is reachable maybe. Thanks rb26s13 ill try that. I might extend the redline just abit aswell. Next things to go on the car: Power fc and boost control kit, cam gears( maybe some cams if the wallet permits) and some good dyno time and i should see an 11 i hope next time out at the track. Also there was a white r33 gtr at calder last night. Was running pretty quick times in the 11's. Plates were GTR-97. Anyone know him? is he on the forums? Im new on here tho so i dont know many on here yet.
  12. Went back to calder 2night. Didnt get heaps of runs but ended up with a best of 12.5 @ 108.9 mph. This time i had turbo back exhaust and pods with boost restrictor out. Was happy with that. Still need to get the 60' down abit. Heres my problem: Im hitting the rev limiter in 3rd gear just before i cross the line and its loosing me a fair bit of mph i believe. To try and solve this problem i short shifted in 3rd to 4th at about 7000 rpm and couldnt get the mph over 106-107 so that didnt help. If i redline 3rd and shift to 4th then im shifting pretty much as im going over the finish line so im loosing mph there also. What can i do to fix this without say changing the gearing in the diff or gbox? Its annoying because i could be closer to a low 12 pass if i didnt have this problem! lol

  15. My gtr sounds like its mis firing/ choking sometimes. It happens sometimes when taking off and even when cruising. For example cruising at 60 kms and the accelerator is held enough to keep the speed to a constant 60kms and you can hear the car cutting out or sort of chocking abit in the exhaust note. When the car is idling you can hear it cutting out abit also. This only started happening since i put new front/dump pipes and high flow cat on a few days ago. The funny thing is that when i accelerate hard and it hits boost, its smooth and doesnt seem to cut out at all. Only just before it hits boost and pretty much when holding the accelerator at a constant rate it seems to happen. I thought it might be a loose afm plug so i made sure they were on properly. Also sometimes it just runs fine and this doesnt happen at all? So im not sure what it could be? Any help would be great guys. Cheers

  18. Sorry but the two statements in bold just seem very contradictory hehe i know what you mean though. I use my car as a daily so i dont wana be tooo brutal and break things and be without a car.
  19. i must just be a bad driver. I should be running flat 10's with a stock gtr that is fitted with new technological advanced 2007 model LING LONG branded tyres lol (Not that i get any traction loss even with those tyres anyway go 4wd) Ofcourse there is always room for improvement from practicing but i think i got a decent time without fully raping the drivetrain hehe I will try one or two redline dumps though, just for fun.
  20. already sorted Just wana get it all together and installed/tuned and get back to the track.
  21. put some hks pods on 2day. Exhaust hopefully this week and then boost it up and ill be back at calder. Cant wait hehe
