  1. I will have some prices for front/dump [turbo to cat] tomorrow - i am going around to talk to my local exhaust guy. I will also ask a price for ya charlie - though it will be hard to compare cause it sounds like you dont know exactly what you are getting? Which is a bit of a worry!!! If someone says turbo back that should include at least ALL of the piping including dump, front, then from cat to muffler. Or perhaps it should be the whole lot? Which would be a lot dearer, I will clear it up tomorrow...I am sure I can get ya a better deal though
  2. i was thinking similar when i first looked, must be the mis-matched sizing... I though a lot of you guys preferred the Symetrical look of the same-sized 33 stove plates? I think on black it would be best!
  3. there are other signs around like banners and ads and stuff but I am sure by now everyone has enough info from which to ascertain whether they want to donate or not...and what its all about... sorry, I almost got carried away there ;D
  4. this is written above MOST sub-categories of the forums, ie Victorian section, General etc: Announcement: Donations needed! - PranK

  8. Yeah, some other SAU guys have the same clutch and say that it rides and slips just like the factory one, but handles the power delivery better...
  9. Cool, I should be able to make it for next weekend
  10. None, they ran out of stars on wednesday - cause I was sooooooooooooooo generous You shall get a Triangle from now on
  11. Thanks Eddie, good to hear. Jasma is like the EPA of Japan. SR could be a brand that makes exhausts but Jasma is not. 4 inch front? Or cat-back section? 4inch would have to be close to scraping if yours is lowered?
  12. Thanks guys Pred: I am checking out a dump/front pipe as we speak this could push me up to around 190rwkw at a guess based on current power of 180ish on the standard front exhaust section and cat... Performance wise, I won't be doing much else for a while...if at all! I only read good reports about the Exedy in other threads so thanks for the warning. I don't think I want a twin plate as I have heard they are far from stock in terms of driveability user-friendliness. I have heard that multi plate, brass and ceramic types are ALL either ON or OFF in their operation. I would prefer just a stronger version of what I already have - which I believe is the factory spec clutch, but not 100% certain. I test drove a twin / triple plate 34 GTT a few weeks ago and I didnt like it, very heavy pedal and very easy to stall - my car is a daily driver with the 1 or 2 time-a-year circuit / drag run... Steve: I will send a query off to greenline, thanks. There still doesn't seem to be much knowledge in Melb / Oz [auto industry] for the 34s...
  13. I queried my local exhaust shop yesterday for the following: R34 GTT: Turbo -> Cat, 3inch mandrel bent pipe in either mild or stainless steel. He will get back to me today on the cost and I will let you guys know R33 GTS-t: He quoted me for the same pipe in mild steel for R33, $300 fitted, so hopefully the 34 isnt much different. When he calls I will ask how much a hi-flow Cat would be too
  14. Does anyone know if an R34 clutch is the same or compatible with the R33 one? I am looking to buy the daikin / exedy sports organic clutch but so far I am having a hard time finding out if they make them for my car. Basically, they dont, in Oz at least. I have been talking to Daikin Aust. all week...the only thing they can offer me off the shelf [which they think will fit] is called a Premium Duty Clutch and will cost $800 just for the parts - this doesn't include a lightened flywheel either!!! Now if 33 and 34 are the same then I will just get the exedy sports organic clutch! I'm talking about GTT / GTST here, AFAIK 33 & 34 GTR are interchangable but not from gtr to gtst etc... Thanks guys
  15. It seems as though you guys know enough about clutches so, do any of you know if the R34 clutch is the same [or compatible with] the R33 one? I am looking to buy the daikin / exedy sports organic clutch but so far I am having a hard time finding out if they make them for my car - in short, they dont in Oz at least - I have been talking to Daikin Oz all week...the only thing they can offer me off the shelf [which they think will fit] is called a Premium Duty clutch and will cost $800 just for the parts!!! Now if 33 and 34 are the same then I will just get what you guys have got! I'm talking about GTT / GTST here, AFAIK 33 & 34 GTR are interchangable but not from gtr to gtst etc... Sorry to hi-jack the thread - and if you guys dont know, I will start my own one Thanks guys.

    Burnouts :D

well stated! I agree that street tyres are generally a waste of time for burnouts [tyre warming] - now tell all the officials at the various drag strips because they expect you to do one, though I suspect they just want to please the crowd or something... I do need new tyres though - and a clutch!
  18. bUmP - who's a star?

    Burnouts :D

ok im back in here - for a minute. I still dont think its reasonable to advise people to launch at 8,000rpm - thats my point, always has been my point. And 8,000 rpm wont be necessary or possible on the average "forum user's" car! As I said, mine will do burnouts easily launching from 3,000 - 5,000rpm so why bother with maxing your revs out just on launch? Its going to climb up to the max rpm very quickly in 1st or 2nd anyway... Dave I think I can safely assume you are not in the category of having: A: A GTR B: An RB26 C: A Worked RB26 D: A Huge Aftermarket Turbo hanging off an RB26 E: A 700HP+ engine Maybe I am wrong. This type of setup probably does need much higher revs than your average liner to invoke wheelspin, though I am sure its fun! My main point is I think YOUR original question [the reason we are in this thread] wasnt answered effectively, thus I tried to help. I also think a lot of other forum goes will be looking in here and trying to learn from the Q&A's /end rant HKSgtst - hover your cursor over the star and some magic will happen Works differently depending on star colour

    Burnouts :D

I know what leewah has - but the person asking the question doesnt have what leewah has - get it? Telling someone to launch at 8000 revs when their car doesnt go that far [from factory] doesnt make sense... anyway who cares - I have a STAR !!!

    Burnouts :D

8,000 revs - that would be assuming you have removed the factory rev limiter on most of OUR cars mine works from 3,000 -5,000 nicely using the LEEWAH method! Well practised at Heathcote Park a few weeks ago
  24. Yes this is also true - they need to be self levelling, most of the 34 kits come with an in-cabin switch for manual level adjustment but this is obviously not goo enough for the ADR's... There is another company here in Oz called xenall who also do hid kits for most cars www.xenall.com.au
