  3. **UPDATE** the car has had signage removed and been fully detailed, so its time to get serious about selling my toy... So Make an offer!!! The Horsepowerinabox promo car is up for sale!! This superb example of a VSpec GTR has it all. Its a very clean low Km car with no accident damage or history. Featuring the 2.7L Jun stroker kit engine, T78 Trust turbo kit, the Twin Nismo Clutch, and a 6K sound system.. Just to name a few. More features.... JUN Body Kit, HKS F Con V PRO ECU, HKS Twin Ignition booster, PWR Radiator, TRUST Intercooler. Nismo Dash Display Graphics upgrade (centre TV DIsplay) for 2 bar boost and lap times. Odyssey Battery, 1000cc SARD injectors, SARD Reg, Jun Cams and gears, with upgraded valve springs and ported head. Jun Oil Pump, AND Lots more!! This car was originally built by Speedworks in WA. The Vice President of JUN was flown out to Perth to tune the car originally, and also oversaw the project. The engine is a JUN package with all the gear. At last service the car was detuned for street... runing only 1.2 bar it made 400rwkw! The car won the Perth Autosalon dyno shootout in 2002 with 800hp (so the story goes from the previous owner).
  4. My 1999 GTR V SPec is for sale also. It doesnt have side airbags or auction papers. It is the silver speedworks car that featured in several mags a few years ago. It depends on what you are after I guess. This one has all the gear including 80k of engine (didnt get te receipts with the car when I bought it but went through them). more info at www.horsepowerinabox.com if you are interested.
  5. A word from a Turbo Blanket manufacturer..... We make these blankets inhouse at horsepowerinabox.com. They have evolved over the years and I believe they are made from the best materials commercially available. The side panels are now polyurethane coated stainless reinforced material, the felt is ceramic material with excellent heat absorbtion properties and the thread is now stainless with kevlar covering... Sounds like an add, which it probably is... but the blankets are a pet project of mine. I was so impressed several years ago with the performance and principal of these blankets that I nearly bought into the company that originally made them... As things turned out the deal fell through... so horsepowerinabox cam along. I tried to do a deal to onsell the blankets but the guy was uncontactable and unrelaible, so tooled up to manufacture myself.. they have evolved into what we believe to be the market leader in the blanket market.. they are three piece construction of the best materials available. I've had the theorists and doubters... but had no documented evidence of the product being detremental to the turbo... short or long term. We have consulted metalurgists and regarded turbo engineers alike and concluded that these units have no adverse effect. Only the armchair experts that make statements without supporting fact... its all theory and opinion. I had one guy claim his dump flange warped because of the blanket.... who is to say that the flange wouldnt have warped withou a blanket fitted.. or it was too thin or warped from welding to start with... like I said there is no documented testing or evidence that these blankets are detrimental in any measurable way. They are commonplace on marine and trucking industries (known as lagging) but the temperatures are less in both cases. There are trucking guys that claim overall improvements in spooling and economy from fitting a blanket. Bottom line is we beleive in the product as a good deal all round. It contains radiant heat for the cosmetics around the engine bay and keeps the heat in the turbo housing minimising the heat/energy/power loss through heat dissipation.
  6. didnt come with nismo rims and CF bonnet. I changed the wing back to the OEM deal... it looked a bit neater..
  7. Thats the one... featured in several mag a few years ago... built by Speedworks in WA, tuned by the vice prez of JUN (flown over to do the job)... its the shit..
  8. Sounds good to me... make it 100 then.. It is a nice car...
  9. sure have... full descriptoion and more pics on our website www.horsepowerinabox.com/HPIAB2 as well.

  11. Thanks for that. We have options now of the RB engine in GT28rs and GT2871R using a new Garrett turbo and machining a Nissan housing to retain the flange and dump pattern. These turbos are a new initiative and designed for the guy that doesn't want to rotate the earth and make 300 at the wheels. They make a good early spooling bolt on option for RB20 and 25. I would probably sway towards a GT2871 RB exhaust housing unit for a RB25. Morrie Horsepowerinabox.com PS Come and see us at the Jamboree if you are there!!! We will have a trade stand there, near the stage..
  12. What the????? I should stop reading these forums.... You are suggesting that we have circa 1970 comp wheel to use in turbos to stitch up the unsuspecting public??? I don't think so. The product is a new unit sourced from Garrett Australia within the last 6 months as a GT30. We use a SB8005A turbo and machine a Nissan exhaust to suit.. there is no deception, obselete parts or cheaper materials used to make a quick buck. The turbo IS as sold with no sinister plot to pass off cheaper parts. The unit cost is the same for the range of GT30 through to GT3540/GT35R/whatever part number garrett are using today, so there is no logical reason to substitute wheels/cores and I assure you we haven't. It is offered/sold to fill a need in the marketplace. To provide a solution for a bolt on RB internal.
  13. The VG30 exhaust is an advantage over the RB25. We can certainly do a GT30 for you with a supplied VG30 Exhaust. They are hard to find, so if you have a supply bring it on. The long term solution is a Garrett range of T3 units for the RB. They have been on a promise for 18 months..
  14. What I would think a better option is the GT3071 with the internal T25 .86 exhaust. They are an early spooling powerful unit and reportedly good for 300rwkw. I have a few in the field here but no dyno results yet, as they are a new option here. The negative is you will need an adapter for the base flange if using on a std manifold.
  15. We used to offer a std position manifold for the RB. They were an ugly thing and an embarassment to sell to be honest. I used to make the buyer aware of the design and layout of these units up front. The workmanship was good but the general design and positions made it near impossible to produce a "pretty" manifold. We dropped them all together. I have heard of a manifold out of Brisbane from Sub Zero I think.... We dont deal with them and I understand they are $$$ but any custom fabricated unit will be. Any good fabricated manifold is 17-20 hours labour to produce and that costs $. Morrie Horsepowerinabox.com
