  1. yep. u need a eye level brake light. they will check this, along with all your other indicators.
  2. dohmar, i have the interface with me that andrew lent me and i can tell you that its a usb connector. do you happen to have drivers for this interface?
  3. hi guys, i was fortunate enough to borrow a nissan consult interface of a mate who mentioned that i would need to install drivers. now the connection to the pc is a usb connection, so does anyone know where i can get one from? im looked online at a few sites where you would download free software but none had usb drivers for vista. can anyone help? thanks, duc
  4. hi, i have looked at the airbag module and notice that the bolts holding the unit in is no ordinary bolt. it seems to be a star shaped allen key bolt. does any one know what tool i can use to remove them. thanks, duc
  5. did you eventually get your airbag light to work? and if so, how and what was wrong?
  6. a mate is leading me a consult. how it rectifies the problem. but with electronics, anything can happen. thats so far for the advice rogue.
  7. guys, the problem i have with my airbag light is that not only cant i get a blub to light up the airbag light but it is also flashing. the following finding is what has lead to this conclusion.... 1. putting another blub into the airbag light slot didnt work 2. that there is constant live to the contacts of the airbag slot, as the multimeter shows that power is there but it is pulsing (power going up and down) 3. realised that the pulsing shows that the airbag light is flashing (if a blub was in) - hence typical flashing of airbag light ppl on here get 4. disconnected the airbag module that sits under the centre console where the handbrake is and the multimeter showed that power to the abs light slot was on constantly (power steady) so, my initial problem is to get the light working again. can anyone think of how i can do this, is the bulb an led blub and not a generic blub hence why it doesnt work?could replacing the dash cluster with another cluster solve the problem? and with the airbag light flashing, i have tried the driver door button trick but that doesnt seem to work. would a reset of the airbag using the nissan consult fix this problem? really need to get this working. thank you in advance for any help. duc
  8. guys, i went to a mates house yesterday to see if we could sort the airbag light problem. this is what we found... 1. putting another blub in didnt work 2. that there is constant live to the contacts of the airbag slot, as the multimeter shows that power is there but it is pulsing (power going up and down) 3. realised that the pulsing shows that the airbag light would have been flashing (if a blub was in) - hence typical flashing of airbag light ppl on here get 4. disconnected the airbag module that sits under the centre console where the handbrake is and the multimeter showed that power to the abs light slot was on constantly (power steady) my question is .... 1. firstly, how do i get the light working again? 2. my airbag light (if it had a blub in) is flashing. we have tried the pressing of the door button but that doesnt do the trick. would plugging in a nissan consult be able to reset this or would it just detect that there is an error with the airbags. 3. as for getting a certificate the inspector at regency gave me a copy of repairers they recognise. must i have to use one of them or can i use anyone that can provide me with an engineers certificate. if i was to go to a repairer they recommend, would they just do a visual test to see the light works or would they have to plug in software. cause if they do, bridging the contact would be pointless - i would think. i know its a long post, but it details what is wrong and any more help would be appreciated.
  9. i would like to borrow a nissan consult handset and software. the one that allows you to diagnose an problems with your car. desperately. thank you duc
  10. midlife i would do that but the thing is, he says it should light up upon ignition - that your idea would fix that, but when he starts it - problem remains as the light would stay on. correct? luke i will give that a go. thanks all i also need a certificate that abs is working normally, does anyone here work at nissan? or know how much it would cost to get one of these certificates?
  11. no. ive always had a stock wheel. i checked the abd fuse, it was ok. and i put a bulb in the abs slot. still hasnt worked. i also connected the cable that sits under the drivers seat. yet it hasnt worked.
  12. i went through regency today. i failed. they picked me on not having my srs airbag lights on when the ignition is on. now i have to get a certificate that says its working from their recommended workshops. so i went and opened the dash up, to find out that there was no bulb in the airbag slot. so i put a bulb in, but when i turned on the ignition it still doesnt go on. can anyone help?
  13. thanks for clearing that up. i went to a mate of mine today to get some stockies for my appointment and he said that they check emission on the exhaust. is that true? reason i ask is because i have a 3" turbo back exhaust that is within the db limit. whilst he went through with his car for compliance and not a defect. also, he said that my trimmed number plate [front] would receive a defect. any one know the answer to these questions?
  14. if i went to regency and didnt pass on my first time. and i booked a reappointment. do i need to go to a cop shop to extend my blue defect notice? or can i just drive it around, like i did before my first appointment, until i go back in to regency?
  15. hey guys, ive been given a set of r34 gt stock suspension for my r33 gtst. and the guy who gave them to me told me that they fit my car. is this true? cheers, duc
  16. vu, how much did it cost and what did they look at? obviously it was your airfilter but did you get to see them look over the car? and if so, like i said, what did you notice them looking at?
  17. great. saves me the hassles of taking out my alarm.
  18. but can they just look up the alarm specs and do you purely on that basis? my remote start has to be activated using the remote before i turn off the engine otherwise it just turns off normally. helso, whats a key fob? what i intending to do was to through without the remote alarm, saying i lost it. leaving just the unit in the car and its associated wiring.
  19. guys with your alarms, has anyone gone through with a viper alarms that has remote start, turbo timer etc?
  20. guess im going to be removing my window tint. but before i do, does anyone have a device that measure the percentage or should i just go back to my tint installer?
  21. matt, ive sent you a pm. thanks mate.
  22. i thought you would need a brake light. as for child restraint, i need to source one as i removed mine and cant locate it anymore. wasnt it just one metal bracket or was it two metal brackets? ovrtym33 were you in the inspection bay with the inspector or were you sitting in a waiting room? was this recent or a while back?
  23. and rear brake light? i got a stealth spoiler hence no brake light as i would have if i had my series 2 spoiler on. would i need one? also, my in cabin boot release dont seem to work anymore, would that be a problem?
  24. i just had a look over my car. i noticed that the parcel tray where the battery sits is sort of rusted, can i just spray paint it and it would wont get a second look? also, the spare tyre. does it need to be in? also, did you guys go through with your amp and wiring etc etc i read in this section somewhere its best not to have it in the car at all at the time of inspection.
