  1. So you're running a high flow turbo (don't care how "cheap", that doesn't mean it works badly, usually just means it is less reliable) and his stock AUTO 1JZ did the same? You're trying to use that as a bad point about it? It's a stock engine, yours isn't. Dan.
  2. SOHC awesomeness! (Yes, I am aware you can put a 26 head on it, but you didn't say anything about that did you?) Dan.
  3. Yea, I think there is a chaser variant too, 2JZ-GE AWD. Dan.
  4. Excellent idea, but looks pretty poorly executed. I'd love to see it done properly in a car that rivals the RB26 Top Secret Supra in quality. I bet none of you had a cry about that car and why did they do the swap, to be different and have LESS torque for easier traction 2JZ>RB26, has to be said. Apparently there is a car in Japan that runs 2JZ-GE AWD, now if you could source one of these, adapt the sump up to a GTE, and put a Supra V160 Getrag bellhousing on the R34 getrag THAT would be doing it right. Pity the bodywork is terrible. Shit it doesn't even look like the fuel cap would open, the lip above the guard looks like it overlaps the fuel cap. Dan.
  5. No worries, has the steel flange for welding onto cooler piping. All that should be required is to cut a hole and weld it on, then run a vacum hose to it. Dan.
  6. Okay got these bits for sale and need to sell them. I know they're Supra parts mainly, but a couple of items are universal or good parts for upgrading other vehicles. JZA80 Stock Supra early model cloth bucket seats, pair, excellent condition, very comfortable, electric drivers fucntions fine. $450ono JZA80 Stock TT 3-core radiator which has had a new top tank 2 years ago and chemically cleaned, perfect for an upgrade on another car. $350ono JZA80 Stock JDM 440cc high imp injectors and fuel rail. $240ono JZA80 Stock early model tail lights in excellent condition, no scratches or weathering. $180ono JZA80 Stock centre brake light, no weathering or scratches. $60ono HKS SSQV BOV in good condition. $250ono JZA80 Very low front springs, been told they're Apexi by a couple of workshops. Pair. $160ono JZA80 Factory sub and mounting. $80ono JZA80 Factory battery tray. $30ono I'm sure there is more but will have to check what's there this weekend. Will take pictures this weekend unless someone is very keen then will take pictures that night. E-mail address is [email protected]. Dan.
  7. Looking for a Q45 throttle to replace the very drag oriented one I have on my Virtual Works intake manifold on my Supra. Please contact me at [email protected] any help appreciated (even if you just know where to get one) Dan.
  8. A friend of mine is importing a Supra from Japan, and it is sporting these lovely Work Wheels which judging by their complete lack of mention on the Work website seem to be an older model/discontinued? Can anyone put a model/name to these wheels? Thanks, Dan.
  9. Haha, is it as expensive as the HKS Tokyo carbon one? 2k AUD for a f**king strut brace! Ultimate car porn for your engine bay though. Dan.
  10. Exactly why does there need to be adjustment though? As far as I'm concerned, if you need to adjust it to make it fit, you have a bent chassis, otherwise it should be a very tight fit to get on anyway to work effectively. Also, having a screw there it would definately work its way loose eventually on a part that has that much stress put on it. Front strut bars really do make a decent difference in turn in on a vehicle too, I've noticed this in my car, as well as the few other friends who have gotten decent strut bars. Dan.
  11. Considering this is the type of crap most people seem to have on their cars, it has adjustment bolts at both ends! The JIC is definately a hell of a lot chunkier than most. Only chunkier ones I've seen are the TRD Supra and the Nismo R34 GTR. Dan.
  12. Hey guys, Friend of mine will be picking up his 32 GTR within the next few weeks, and we've been trying to source a chunky strut brace, for some reason they all seem to be these stupid pansy thin tube type units with adjustment bolts! Why on earth would you want an adjustment bolt that can work its way loose on a strut bar? Can anyone point us in the direction of some nice chunky solid braces? I have a JIC unit in my Supra, attatchment included (excuse the dirt). Really looking to find a couple of brands that make nice solid units like these. If you have a nice solid strut bar for Skyline, post pics and what brand it is please. Thanks a lot. Dan.
  13. Great helpfull thread. Should be a sticky. Dan.
  14. That was E10, it has already been mentioned earlier in this thread, E10 is 98 octane 10% ethanol. It is not optimax extreme. Dan.
  15. Hey guys, A friend of mine is picking up an immaculate R32 GTR soon, he has already picked up a pair of HKS low mounts, mines ECU, and an exhaust, and he wants something that just adds a nice touch to the stock look of the R32 GTR. Seeing the Garage Saurus R32 GTR in the HPI GTR special, really wondering if anyone knows an english speaking distributor for their aero parts, mainly the carbon front lip and carbon side skirts? The carbon front lip looks very clean, very similar to the HKS/Craig Paisly lip for the Supra. Also think a Top Secret carbon rear under diffuser would finish off the rear nicely if anyone knows a company that makes a high quality cf replica, would also be interested. Thanks heaps, any help is greatly appreciated. Dan.
  16. A pair of early model mkiv Supra tails, perfect condition! No scratches, no fatigued weathered plastic, and I'll even give them a nice polish before I send them to you. $300. [email protected] Dan.
  17. Okay, bit of a story behind this box. Car was making a lot of noise, I just thought it was getrag with a lightened flywheel, came accross another Supra with lightened flywheel and something was definately wrong with mine. Ended up having it taken out, new seals, new bearings, re-shimmed, etc etc. Took waaay too long and I needed a car, so I bought another getrag. Finally got this one back, but it never made it back into my car, and I can't really be bothered when I have a working box in the car with no issues. So I am selling it for the low low price of $2,200, which covers all the work I had done to it, no guaruntees nothing else is wrong with it, but if it is, I can't think of anything left that could need replacing that'd end up with you being out of pocket more than $3,500, which would leave you with a fully re-conditioned getrag in new condition anyway. Comes with the inspection plates, and I'm pretty sure it comes with with shifter assembly, not 100% on that though will have to check for you if you are interested. No clutch, no clutch master, etc. http://www.elit3.com/upload.php?file=Getrag02.jpg http://www.elit3.com/upload.php?file=Getrag01.jpg http://www.elit3.com/upload.php?file=Getrag03.jpg http://www.elit3.com/upload.php?file=Getrag05.jpg http://www.elit3.com/upload.php?file=Getrag04.jpg http://www.elit3.com/upload.php?file=Getrag06.jpg http://www.elit3.com/upload.php?file=Getrag07.jpg E-mail me at [email protected], offer me $2000, it's yours, offer me $1999, it wont be. I am located in Canberra, so shipping costs will be from Canberra to wherever you are. E-mail me for my ph number if you want it, but I don't want to post it on a public forum. Dan.
  18. Wait, so let me get this straight, the 100 has the same amount of "petrol" or less than the 98, has ethanol, which the media are raving about how it is cheaper, and costs 7 cents more? f**k that for a joke! They're making a pretty penny off that! Btw, where do you live? Optimax is like 1.30 here Dan.
  19. I'd specifically like to know what the cents per litre difference is between Optimax and Optimax Extreme. Dan.
  20. I'd still rather not worry about having alcohol dry out my seals at all. Dan.
  21. Uh, Japanese fuel is 100-102 octane yes, but it is ALL petrol, not ethanol. If you want to know how this will run, pick up HPI60, it has a write up of 98 full petrol vs 98 E10 on a PowerFC equipped Skyline. The E10 ran like crap until retune, after which they could pull massive timing without pinging. They also said that it shouldnt' be a problem in cars with factory ECU's as the factory map leaves enough room to compensate. Dan.
  22. Hey guys, Trying to find pictures of white R33 s1/s2 and R34 four door Skylines for a guy I am trying to help out who is interested in importing a four door turbo Skyline. Any help greatly appreciated. Dan.
  23. Never ever take a car to Evo motorsports. I don't know a single person who has gone there and not been ripped off. Hell, I even know a kid who did work experience there, that they got to put the head on an S2000, he'd never touched a car in his life before that. Personally I recomend Trojan Motorsport www.trojanmotorsport.com.au Trojan Motorsport , they have a few big R33's, and a couple of R32's and R34's coming out of there frequently. Both the boys John and John have either had or have Skylines themselves, and they're pretty much their bread and butter. Never heard anyone have a genuine complaint about them. Dan.
