swapping a popped one for a working one also be chucking on adj. exhaust cam gear, and a few other bits and pieces. just thought some people may like a few tips for future reference

alright ladies and gents.. as of this weekend im going to start doing my engine swap.. anyone wants pics/details of the swap-over process? ive just bought myself an engine stand, and im borrowing a hoist for the weekend, and next weekend (cant see me having it done this weekend ) about to go purchase some new fluids and belts, etc.. may aswell clean her right up whilst its all out.

uh huh... we are in the process of building a new store.. was supposed to be on a 6 week build schedule. so fars its the 11th week and the chippys still have a good 2 weeks left. every day ive swept the store from top to bottom... cant stand a messy workplace!! edit: my staff sometimes feel bad that the assistant manager is sweeping because they couldnt be bothered...

yeah, but then it wont cool down to as low a temperature as it passes through the intercooler either way, its good to see people not taking the standard approach to engine mods.. i was wondering if it had any affect on lag or anything as opposed to the tradtional RB25 intercooler setup. it seems to use 45 degree bends, and long radius 90 degree bends which could help a bit with air flow, rather than the big U shape the typical kits have. care to elaborate on that, beef?

well not all the goodies came with the motor, but i collected some goodies over the past week. the motor itself came with a custom forward facing plenum, and ive got a exh. cam shaft to go in it, aswell as a new catch can, and some splitfire coils. also have an adj. exhaust cam gear for it.. but i think with the cam shaft it will be rendundant... rotating mass reduction perhaps? or leave it off all together?

id dare say the rocker covers get a tad hotter than a radiator hose, not to mention a fair bit more surface area. there is going to be hot parts where ever the piping is routed, but minimising the length/hot points it passes is ultimately going to give you the most power and response.

picked up a second hand 25 with a few nice goodies on it.

it might help it a little bit.. but it still passes over the hot engine, heating it up again. ultimately you want a custom/gtr style plenum that takes the air in the front of the plenum, and doesnt pass over anything warm/hot. like this..

uh huh.. i do get a bit higher than the 19yr old wage, but its still not a full assistant managers wage.. i should just do 85% of the work to make up for the 85% of a adults wage i get.

i had one of those at work too... until i became assistant manager and fired him. you know whats worse than people getting paid the same as you and doing less? people getting paid *more* than me, and doing less.. all because im not 21, so im not considered an 'adult'.

with that big hair dryer on the side, im sure its lifespan can be severely shortened with ease

mine was put on the car not long after it was originally purchased.. so its a good 11-12 years old too

i had an arc cross flow kit on mine when i bought it (~450x280).. but the fins were quite bent on it, and it didnt fill out my front bar opening as well as a 600x300 fmic definately good for a easy upgrade, but not cheap however.. ill post some ofmy pics up shortly.. currently i have the big U bend that passed over the radiator fan/engine, but ive got a custom forward facing plenum going in shortly, should reduce lag and heat a fair bit!

you might save 1-2k.. i was looking at 33 GTR's for a while, they all seem to be about the same price as ant said earlier.

can borrow my 'lean tune' if you like, it seems pretty good at popping 25's...
