HI, i'm just wondering when do stock r32/r33 AFM max out
could ya post up your dyno results of your car with stock afm
R32 afm maxed out at around 170rwkw for me

yeh there was deffinantly problems before..... but now all good .yay!
The ebc works on a fixed duty cycle to set boost. If it were a 'learning' ebc where you dial in 15psi and it learns what duty cycle required to achieve that boost level at various rpms then it would be a different story.I think maybe a boost leak has been fixed up in the process.

Do you have electronic Boost control?
if so, it shoudl hold the same boost.

that was set on 13 before changed turbo when turbo went back in and no one moved the dial was at 20psi

if so, I doubt it would just 7 psi just from changing the turbo.
the internal wastegate is set at 15psi, but yeh refer question 1

is so, it's probably knacker or have been knocked during the refitting and needs to be adjusted back.
Do you have an aftermarket computer? remap
if not, your stock computer is doing the rich and retard dance.
now i got it sorted anyway i got it a 18psi that me happy enough atm, till can re-tune

dipshit, I did the mods myself. I don't tune, because I don't have the equipment.You started off with the smartassed remarks, and you went on about why your car isn't pinging... thats just a dumb question... I know enough about tuning to know that its not pinging for a reason...which is probably good...
you want it to ping... go and fuel up with 91 octane fuel..

well is deffinatly coming from that vercinity but not the alternator though and only happens when engine is warm
it's got me jiggerd why that would make noiseit's not the alternator is it ?

With a rebuilt turbo it should be more efficent, meaning more airflow at the same psi of restriction. So actually if it was tuned on map it would be more likely to ping and if on maf same thing but max it out sooner and go into rich mapping to avoid detonation, maybe thats why.A new turbo wont give you more boost on the same setting, (i dont care who you are) its just a setting to tell the wastegate when to open.

You've got a remapped ecu that is certianly not tuned for your bigger turbo... There is your problem. You can't hear all pinging. It'll be rattling those forgies left right and center and you won't have clue till you start seeing blue smoke in the rearview mirror.

if you had of Listed your mods to start with, explained what you've done, and didn't be a smartassed prick about it you might have gotten better answers. sorry we dont all just sit behind a computer and think we r clever cause we can type we can actually do the mods OURSELFS "mechanically minded" instead of paying a performance shop $$$$ to do it for us,

2) was the turbo spec changed?
i find it almost impossible to believe rebuilding a turbo would cause it to work any differently... by using "better quality" parts.
Ynless you changed the actual spec of the turbo, being the trubine &/or comp wheel... but you've said that didnt occur...
it was rebuilt to same spec just with diffrent brand steel wheels this, time and stuff was machined properly, before when i had it on the car i dont believe was built properly but now it is. and 100% old one running 13psi and now same settting 20psi with no boost leaks just disconnecting alone the ebc standard spec is 15psi thats wat the turbo guy said and he was spot on the money.
the reason i didnt list mods before is cause ..well read the post. dunno how it will help
rebuilt, forgies etc and all the rest that comes with rebuild bored 20 thou etc, fmic, 550cc injectors, rising rate, f/reg,fmic,xhuast,remapped ecu, z32
but that wont effect the orginal question
all i know is i got it running at 18psi now dayly and its alright

yeh well not saying that its not possible it just seems like the noise is coming from around that solinoid.
i have a tomei hicas lock could that effect.
but i doubt hicas would cause it to happen when reving. unless its to do with the ecu issue

got two questions firstly what is this part????
i dont know if you can work out where in the engine bay this photo is taken, so i will try add info..... if you are facing the car head on, it is on the left hand side of the engine bay and dircetly to the right of the fuse box but lower down on the ledge. it is in rb20det. i hope this hasnt confussed you!
the reason i want to know is this device makes a humming sound if you exalerate and then back of it goes hhhmmmmm....... accelarate then back off.hhhmmmmm...
it is strange the car is a manual but used to be an automatic in japan according to my computer, the nosie only started though once i changed my ecu from the standard which was auto to a manual ecu for remap purposes.? is this an auto feature??? thats my suspect
