  1. Few people have mentioned I should start a build thread so here we go! In short, I've picked up a 1993 R33 factory RB25DET 4spd Auto and I'm going to be barra swapping it. I've built several factory Barra powered vehicles now and wanted to pick a nice light JDM shell to commit to. To start out, the car will take form with 350-400rwkw, which will be plenty to get comfortable in. I've put in a summary of some things needed to be done to the existing shell and also what the driveline will entail. ENGINE Built Greentop Barra on E85(Just the usual springs, gears, studs etc), GTX3582 GEN II High mounted, 50mm Screamer. GEARBOX Fully built BTR 4 Speed with high-stalled converter (1st and 2nd are tall gears, paired with the 4.36 auto diff assuming it stays alive will make for some awesome launches) I aim to sell the motor short term from the car once my destroked projects have proven successful in the XR6T's (Falcons, just less muck around with R&D). Would be similar power level as before, just with a stupidly high capacity for revs (9k rpm+), pushing that torque back would help with traction too. SHELL WORK Full closed door respray in factory KH2 (GUN METAL), I'll be getting the body as straight as possible Engine bay spray Chassis Spray Full rebuilt on suspension (front and rear) Front end work (slight damage but have a full half cut so not to worry) There is heaps more but I'll update as I go, I'll try keep it as comprehensive as possible for anyone using it as a resource. For anyone interested, my YouTube is The Barra Specialist where I'll be documenting the whole build once I've restored the shell.
  2. Loving the support, I'll get one started. Currently managing two builds (XR6 Turbo also) but it's safe to say most of my attention is set on this.
  3. Hey mate, starting off with moderate power, probably around the 400rwkw mark at most. That's just to get a feel of the car first and sort out any gremlins. Will have a 4spd auto (Built BTR) with all the usual features like cruise control and ac etc. Just a greentop bottom end running e85 and will throw on a fuel economy tune on 98 that I'm confident will get sub 10L/100 in a lighter car like the skyline, hopefully haha. It's going to be relatively stock looking, I've got an s2 rear spoiler for it, stock fenders and bonnet, still yet to find a front bumper that I love but plenty of time. Suspension overhaul, will see how long the auto diff lives for as I want to experiment with the tall btr auto gears and short 4.36 diff ratio, but expect it will change. Lots of wiring too! Car is now fully stripped to have a frame rail repaired and I'm gutting all the subframes to do my brackets for gearbox and front end strengthening due to the larger motor. All in all, street registered, super clean paint and barra powered is the goal.
  4. Greetings all, I expect this is the first of very many times I'll be making use of this platforms resource and information. Working on a Barra swapped 1993 R33 at the moment. Long way to go but it is moving! 4 litre turbo will make for a fun RWD. For the purists, sorry not sorry ;)
