  1. I run it on 720p cause my tv's max is 1080i, but ive heard it CAN display in 1080p?
  2. ive signed up and set up my character and everything, havent actually played online yet though...
  3. From what i was told from the folks at GAME today (cant remember it all): Different Box art Model to scale figure of Snake Making of DVD DVD of all cutscenes from previous MGS' (also available with pre-order of std. ed.) $169.95 i think... Apparently only 20,000 limited edition copies were made world wide according to GAME, i know 1 EB store only got 1 copy and another EB got 3 in ACT... so quite limited...
  4. For anyone interested, PlayAsia have Metal Gear Solid 4, Brand new for $70 >LINK<
  5. So explain how a 360 is not a DVD player? all it plays are DVD's (and CD's) as it only has a DVD drive. what do you think 360 games are stored on? VHS?
  6. Yeah me too, ive played a few games with Sl!m and Loof aaaages ago, was good fun. then i got COD4 and i play that every now and then, but going from COD4 to Halo 3 feels too wierd...
  7. So if PS3 and Xbox 360 can both play DVD's perfectly fine, what would you call them? 360 games are on DVD's, and the 360 reads them, and plays them, hence "DVD player" I know what your saying, that its a Blu-Ray player with capabilities of playing DVD's, but some people really cant be arsed to write "Blu-Ray player with capabilities of playing DVD's" or "A device that can read and play DVD movies/PS2 games (Also stored on DVD's, but only capable on 60gb models)".
  8. Probably because EB are the only ones that will stock the Limited Edition of MGS4... i think they paid big $$$ to have it as an EB exclusive deal...
  9. Theres a guy in conder who im 95% sure could fix it... PM me for the details if you want them. The laser in the ps3 wouldnt be reading much differently on a dvd than it would a blu ray (for games etc)... same goes for xbox 360 games and dvd's... if you cant play a dvd on a dvd player (which is what both the 360 and ps3 have) as much as you want, then its pointless... so i dont know how much truth is in "the more you play dvd's, the more the laser dies" story... i would almost guarantee its just the general life of the laser in your dvd player, or just needs a thorough clean...
  10. Since my first post in this thread, i don't believe i ever completely disagreed with whats going on.
  11. None of the above, i just think theres other possible solutions...
  12. Thats the family's choice to dump them. the majority of second born children are put up for adoption, but not exterminated.
  13. Ive got "ImToo DVD Ripper Deluxe" and "ImToo Video Converter" and both work awesome. and you dont get any .vob crap either... you can choose your output file type, and choose the quality you want, size, etc... seriously one of the most handy apps.
  14. Or you could slow down at night and keep an eye out for wildlife? I see heaps of roo's heading home from the gym going past the dump, but ive never hit one... Sure, they're over populated, but so is China, you don't see them killing every second born child... I don't see why animals should be treated any differently to humans... It'd be nice if they could be relocated, but thats not how Australians want to spend their tax dollars... Plus they can disturb habitats for other animals, even if relocated... as long as the cull is being done humanely and with as little suffering possible.
  15. argh... damn... well theres two options depending on how desperate you are for Variety Map Pack: 1. Run a search on eBay (America) for Playstation Network Cards (Tickets) 2. Use EntroPay. >Click here for more info< Ive never used EntroPay before though, so i cant comment. Thats really annoying though... i didnt know the PSN restrictions were that hardcore... Ive only ever used different accounts for different demo's/video's etc...
  16. cant you just add a random billing address to the card when setting it up on PSN? Or does it automatically know that the card isnt from the US?
  17. Youll be able to play it on all accounts (I think). as its stored on the HDD of the PS3... and theres no sectioning of the HDD for different region profiles. But let us know how it goes.
  18. Follow this guide http://www.ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=45397
  19. Just had confirmation, The variety map pack is region locked. A way you could get around this; Create a US account. this will then give you access to the US PSN. the code you enter from the disc will be accepted, and will be installed onto your PS3. Once installed you will still be able to play with AUS players with the new maps. P.S. dont quote these steps, i own cod4 on 360, but this theoretically should work. I might be doing this with Resistance, depending on how good online is... (Havent played it yet.) EDIT: the US PSN trick works If you need help with creating a US PSN ID let me know
  20. You talking PS3 or 360?
  21. US Versions are normally more expencive. No idea why, maybe taxes? as Play Asia is based in Hong Kong... (I think) Asia versions are almost always in English, and should say in the description. Difference in versions... not much... Japanese ver. are normally always in Japanese with some exceptions, Asia ver. are almost always in english (inc. the cover/manual). Always best to check the description of the game, it should say under "Language:" PS3 Online multiplayer shouldnt be region locked. but it depends on the developers of the game in question. COD4 Online is not region locked. For example: Mario Strikers (Wii) is region locked for Online Multiplayer... Infact i think a few Wii titles are region locked for Online, but the majority of PS3/360 titles arent...
  22. PSN: WildWarriorBizz Playing online: Tekken 5 DR and soon to be playing Resistance... and possibly Dark Sector depending on how good MP is...
  23. The problem is the static. It might not affect the gameplay, but i didnt buy a PS3 to have static visual and sound everytime i want to play a game, or quit a game... For a nice, smooth looking system, this static problem sure does affect the experience... Why does it need to change resolution anyway? ive set it to 720p in the main PS3 menu and the TV setting is at 720p, so what is it changing when going into a game? Also, just out of curiousity, does the Xbox 360 Elite have this problem with HDMI aswell?
  24. Hey all, When i start or quit a game, i get a static flickering ranging from 1-2 seconds... i get static audio and static visual... A mate of mine had this with his PS3... and owns the same HD Plasma as i do... but his PS3 is the AUS 40gb ver. and mines the white JP 40gb ver. Anywho ive tried researching and a few forums are saying its a handshake issue with the resolution from the PS3 to the TV and its "normal", has happened on multiple brands of TV's... well it sorta pisses me off... i didnt buy a PS3 to get static flickers everytime i want to play a game... back on topic... i thought it could just be my mates PS3 that did it, and he was going to return his PS3, but was then advised to try the standard component cables to see if it happened again... he borrowed my PS2 cables and it worked fine, went back to HDMI and hasnt had the problem since... Ive removed the HDMI cable from both ends and plugged them back in and its still happening... Havent tried the standard component cables yet, will probably try that tonight... Another mate has the same PS3 as i have and the same HDMI cable (DSE Brand, 1.5m) and he doesnt have any problems with his. so i dont think its the PS3 or the HDMI cable, and ive read on other forums that this happens on a fair few HD Plasmas like some Samsung and Panasonic models, so i dont think it could be the TV either? Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone recommend a solution?
  25. I'd recommend watching GameTrailers video review, quite informative. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/33246.html
