  1. i was sorta thinking that with this type of exhuast housing it shouldnt effect the spool up much...as ill be running an electronic boost controller...and the wastegate will stay completely shut until its on full boost anyways...which it shouldnt affect spool up time but might cause it to struggle a bit when on full boost. i was under the impression that the wastegate stays completely shut until u hit full boost (with the use of an ebc). am i right or completely wrong lol.
  2. just a quick question...with say..custom plenum do you need these parts welded into the plenum still?? will i always have to use these 2 valves? but if my custom plenum uses the stock runners the air regulator valve will still be able to bolt on..right?
  3. could it just be oil that you might have spilt on the exhaust that is just burning off? cos i always spill oil and it burns for a ages when its on an exhuast.
  4. cheers for that info mate.....does anybody know wat size the oil fiting is for the oil feed for these jigas..also because the stock turbo has oil + water lines and i only need oil ones...wat do i do with the existing water lines..do i just bung the holes in the block or do i get a hose made up to link both holes? i just want to get all the oil and water lines done soon. cheers
  5. well i drift at queensland raceway and it has to be one of the fastest tracks in aussie... it doesnt have tight corners anywhere really they are really long high speed turns. So it should probably suit this track as it would be better to have a really nice top end power band than low down.
  6. heres some more pics of mine...im not sure wat the trims are on these but its a 20g housing.
  7. heres a couple of pics of the eaxhuast housing and the internal gate setup for you roy. its an odd setup if you ask me
  8. sry r31nismoid i cant find anything on swapping rb20 parts over to a rb25 anywhere on this site....is an rb25 just a straight swap over with wiring loom if you get rid of the VVT??
  9. ill just do it all and see how it goes....nobody has a real answer to weather its going to be good or not...so i might aswell do it....if it doesnt work out well then ill just change turboes...
  10. hmm thats a pretty nice setup...the diferance between the 8cm and 10cm is pretty big...im also gettin a custom made plenum to go on with this aswell...im also thinking of ordering a 3 bolt 8cm exhuast housing like yours instead of using the t3 internal gate housing because the internal gate doesnt look like it would work very well...as it looks like it would cause alot of turbulence....if i go with the 3 bolt external gate housing i will get one of those OBX turbo manifolds from the states cos they are cheaper than greddy.....wat external gate are you using roy?
  11. So sydney kid wat your saying is that most of your rb20 good parts will bolt into a RB25?? like if i went out and bought a rb25 would my rb20 tomei cams fit straight in...and how would i get my gtr injectors to work or even fit.....could i still use my ap engineering power fc with this motor...and my rb20 splitfire coilpacks??? if all this stuff fits im gettin one next week
  12. my mate stuck a NEO in his 180sx and he just bought a R33 power fc and that worked fine...so see if you can buy a secondhand r33 power fc.
  13. i know where your coming from...as i have drifted a few cars they dont have much lag if any at all...but i dont mind lag...you control your drift with throttle control....and use a bit of brakes at the same time....drifting is better when your at full noise and the tires a screaming out smoke....most people prefer to drift and have no lag...but im the opposite
  14. im slowly setting my car up to drift...just trying to get the motor upto it....and i dont care about lag with drifting...cos most of the time your on full boost anyway....but if it could start to break traction in 2nd that would be nice cos it would make it easy to slip it out sidewards
  15. doh...i want mine to like start to break traction slightly when it comes onto boost in 2nd...do you know if yours does this with cheaper tires?
  16. ohalso another thing wats yours like when it does hit boost?? is it pretty aggressive when it comes on...like does it hit you into the seat?....when it hits boost do you lose traction in the dry roads??
  17. hey roy i have a Exedy Heavy duty clutch you reckon it will be upto the job with the td06-20g??
  18. hey roy are you running a rb20det gearbox or do you have an r33 box? and wat clutch do you run?
  19. i have a Apexi dual chamber bov for sale, item is in brisbane, good condition, reason for selling = dont like the putsshh noise. Price - $140 PIC: http://img314.imageshack.us/my.php?image=parts0021uu.jpg
  20. i have a hks wastegate actuator to run on it so hopfully it controls some big boost well, im lookin for around 230rwkw so i hope to get it, ill post up my results when i get it retuned with the new turbo. oh if anyone is interested in buying a high flowed stock turbo in the next month that is in pristine condition dont hesitate to give me a buzz as i wont need it anymore.
  21. yeah i have the apexi boost kit to run with it, also just to add, that this is the bolt on version t3 flange internal gated one, i will still need to replace dump pipe though, roy are you running an internal or external gated one?
  22. i think somewhere i read he was running the 10cm housing though, i want to run around 18psi with it, and am looking for around 230+rwkw you think its possible
  23. hey guys, i was wondering your thoughts on how well a greddy td06-20g with the 8cm ehxuast housing would go on a rb20. Currently i have tomei cams, gtr injectors, bosch 040, power fc, hks front mount, 3.5 inch exhuast. Just wondering would this put out a fair amount a power on an rb20, and will this be laggy with the 8cm housing? i need full boost by around 4000rpm...
