  1. Depends on what you consider abusing. If you mean taking it out here and there and hitting redline a few times to open it up and feel the car, or rev to 3K and ease off the clutch a little harder than usual, then yes I'll be abusing. But if you mean take it onto the track, rev and dump, not service it etc. then no, not a chance in hell. It'll be a weekend car, or a car I'll take out on a nice day after work, give it a bit of throttle for a few minutes, and that's it. I know the stock turbo's go on them, so I'll be looking at a pair of steel-wheel's, but again, that's not my concern. Water pumps go on any and every car, hoses go here and there, things like that are fine. I'm more worried about an engine going on me a month after purchasing the car.
  2. Hey guys, this has probably been touched on about a million times, but I couldn't find exactly what I was after. I've always loved 32's, had a GTST that I spent a few bux on which ended up being my first love. Since then, I've always had a fetish for them. From there, I've gone to an S15, a Merc, and now a VX Clubsport R8 which I'm in the process of selling. I get sick of cars so quick, and it's time for a change again. My mate who is a big Ford fan is trying to convince me to get an XR6 turbo (thinks they're just as quick, and a lot more reliable because of the age difference).. But even still, they look like shit! I've always loved to have an RX7 series 8, but the motors frighten the hell out of me... WAY too unreliable and nobody can work on the damn things. I was tossing up either a series 8 RX7 or a 32 GTR, and I eventually pulled away from the rotor because of the engine and the lack of trust I have for mechanics -- let alone the bastards that work on rotors, but now I have people telling me the 32 GTR motor is just as unreliable. In my time with my old GTST, I changed a gearbox because of too many burnout's, a diff for the same reason, and a head gasket because I was 19 at the time and thought if the car overheats, put cold water in it Obviously, since then I don't drop the clutch like I used to, and I DEFINITELY service it more often, while not putting cold water in a warm engine Now if I was to get a 32 GTR, what do I have to look out for? Bits and pieces like control arms, minor engine components etc. don't bother me. If the suspension goes, it goes and so on. I'm more so worried about requiring an engine rebuild. I know all GTR's have been punished, more so the older ones like the 32/33, but I really want a white one that already has a fresher engine. I obviously shouldn't be too fussy with the colour, but if one comes up with a good engine in another colour at the right price, I should snap it up. How often would a 32 engine need replacing? If someone has rebuilt it 20,000 K's ago, is there a rebuild in the near future? Let's say he has taken care of it with good oils, regular services, ran in correctly etc. Or if it hasn't been replaced, and the car is a fresh import from Japan with 80,000 K's on it... How fragile would that engine be? Obviously there are factors here and there, and some of my questions would be the case of "how long is a piece of string", but I'm in love with 32's, never had a GTR, but at the same time it'll only be a weekend car and I'm as paranoid as all hell and don't want to fork out $5K for a rebuild only one month after owning the car. Sorry if it's been touched on here a million times, just a paranoid guy about to spend a few bux on a car that he wants to enjoy and not be so stressed about. Cheers in advance
  3. No thanks mate, sorry Sold!!! Pending payment. Looks like a white 32 GTR or XR6 turbo might be on the cards next.
  4. Back in Australia (Yay). Rego will be paid first thing Monday morning for an extra year. Rego till next August now!
  5. Thai bump! Back in under a week, SMS me if keen on a sale or swap for R32 GTR
  6. Flying out to Thailand in the morning. Not answering any calls because telstra is ****, but I'll reply to any SMS. Cheers
  7. He already sold it. I messaged him a week or so ago
  8. Wow! That's tough as man. Don't need to spend a damn cent on that thing. Good luck with the sale mate
  9. Maybe you should look at what series 2's with leather and sunroof are worth, and what they're like condition-wise before adding your two cents. And yeah, thanks for the well wishes, smartass
  10. Swaps with a 32/33 GTR + a bit of cash either way depending on what it is/has?
  11. The pictures speak for the car. A very tidy overall car with black leather coulson seats to make the driving pleasure even more admirable, to go with a factory fitted electronic sunroof that tilts up on 4 angles before sliding back. Low KM for it's age and in very original condition. The car has a REMUS cat-back exhaust and is completely standard other than that. 6-speed manual and 5.7 Has R8 factory-upgraded bigger brakes to go along with the R8 sports suspension, climate control, a 10-stacker CD player, cruise control and a standard engine. The body itself is very clean and the full leather racing-style interior makes you really appreciate the wonder of a HSV. Has a special R8 drivers kit in the center console, comprising of a tire pressure gauge, torch and a Swiss army nkife-- all of which HSV branded (as per pic) A rare opportunity to have a VX series 2 that comes with factory leather AND sunroof, that's been extremely well maintained. Please no tyre kickers, a genuine sale as plans have changed. Car has always been washed every 2-3 days even when it rains, always kept clean and serviced recently with oils/filters/plugs Can't put the ad price in the main thing, but asking for $18,990 or swaps + cash for an RX7 or Honda S2000 or daily car + cash my way. Will negotiate with a serious buyer FOR THE NEXT MONTH, I'M DROPPING THE PRICE TO $18,990. I'm going on a holiday soon and I'd like the car to be gone by then. Serious offers may be considered, may trade for cars of similar value + cash either way, and would welcome a swap for a daily car with cash my way. Car has 172,000 K's on it but it is in showroom condition throughout. Any inspections welcome. PM or contact on 0488-582-587
  12. I know it's not a Skyline, but nonetheless I'm selling up to get some funds for maintenance on the property. The pictures speak for the car. A very tidy overall car with black leather coulson seats to make the driving pleasure even more admirable, to go with a factory fitted electronic sunroof that tilts up on 4 angles before sliding back. Low KM for it's age and in very original condition. The body itself is very clean and the full leather racing-style interior makes you really appreciate the wonder of a HSV. Has a special R8 drivers kit in the center console, comprising of a tire pressure gauge, torch and a Swiss army knife -- all of which HSV branded (as per pic) A rare opportunity to have a VX series 2 that comes with factory leather AND sunroof, that's been extremely well maintained. Please no tyre kickers, a genuine sale as plans have changed with the real estate so looking to downgrade and let someone else enjoy it I only drive it to work (airport... I live in Tullamarine VIC) so it doesn't drive much at all. The car is faultless, and I paid that little bit extra to get the leather AND the sunroof, because I know a lot of these come with one or the other. I have a mate with a VY Clubby that's jealous and wants to swap cars lol, but like I said, the sale is purely to make way for maintenance on my investment property. I'm happy for ANY inspection to be taken place and I'll be getting a roadworthy at that price. I am negotiable to a serious offer but I don't want to hear "too much" and "my friend got this" etc, because this thing does have the works. Price is listed at $21,000 Has 170,000 on the clock Rego till August http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/STAWKA/side.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/STAWKA/leather.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/STAWKA/front-3.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65...ontangle-1.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/STAWKA/back.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65...A/IMG_1982.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65...A/IMG_1981.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65...A/IMG_1980.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65...A/IMG_1979.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65...A/IMG_1959.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65...A/IMG_1961.jpg
  13. No shit, someone close the thread. I'm getting more upset than I was before. It just hit me now
  14. That's fair enough dude. When you see a car lose control, you can almost always assume he's "trying something". I didn't come on here to tel a sob story, I came on to grab a number or two as witnesses because some of the guys mentioned they were happy to do so because they saw what had happened. Ahh well, not gonna get into this. Lock up the thread I guess
  15. sorry dude, I'm f**king cranky. I told the cops, when I was 18 - forget it. I'm 25 now, I've worked my ass off to get this S15 the way I want it... I'm not gonna sit there doing burnout's on the streets to either crash it or lose my license. Te cops said they will let it go because they realized I wasn't some 18 year old hero that has a Jap car so I can do burnout's and hoon around 24-7. I just wanted a couple of the guys numbers in case, because they seemed like good blokes and looked after me pretty well as I've never been through this before.
  16. ARGH F**K lol. That hurts, I sold them rims a while back and bought Volk GTN's which are now rooted as well. They're called Driftek's - very cheap but good wheels
  17. ARGH!!! It's all my dad's f**king fault I went to work, I blame the whole thing on him lol.
  18. Thanks for the support (sarcasm). To the guys that weren't there, please don't comment and give your bullshit insight. To those that were there, thanks for your real support as you would have noticed that I didn't overrev, try drifting, continue with the car while it was swinging out. One of the local workers in the area came to me as I was waiting to get picked up, and advised me that there is diesel on the road outside the truck-rental place and told me to take a photo of it. The police were pretty cool after I explained to them what happened and they said they won't bother with the court thing because of how it happened. I also didn't see the Skylines on the left until after I got out the car and saw a pack of guys running towards me. On a side note to some of you clowns: When somebody's family member dies, would you say to them "I never liked him/her anyway?"
  19. I wanted a witness because the cops said "someone called and said you were doing burnout's" when u clearly wasn't. To the common person, the sound of tires screeching because the car has lost control will sound like a burnout. The guys in their skylines would have seen most of it take place and can verify that too, which would be an awesome help if need be muztek can you pm your mobile number JUST in case they want a witness? Thanks again
  20. Oh OK no problemo. Thanks anyway
  21. Yeah unfortunately it was me. Na I didn't do anything out of the usual man. I found there was diesel on the roads from the truck rental place outside. Can you link me to the thread they mentioned it? I'm on my iPhone and not too farmiliar with SAU. I wouldn't mind a witness or two
  22. Was in Campbelfield going to work, turned into the street across from Maccas. The car just kicked out in the wet, I started to steer right but it just kept going left and into the pole outside the truck rental joint f**kin extremely pissed!! The guys at Maccas in their Skylines were very helpful, but either way -- FML!! If any of you guys that were there in your Skylines and saw it happen, could you PLEASE PM me your number? I may need it as a witness thing. Thanks for your help again fellas
