Oh damn...so i guess my plan to save up over the years to import an r32 is going down the bin..... I hope this isnt going to happen, its pretty unfair, and i dont see a reason for it either.

Since most of you know what your talking about ( i hope ) i guess i might have to take your advice. But i never said i was going to IMPORT the s13, i said i was going to at the start. But now im thinking of just searching around for one that is already here in australia, maybe from an auction or something. What do you guys think about the non-turbo's s13's, you guys are saying it will be hard to get a turbo s13 for 5k, would i be able to get an s13 non turbo for around this price ? but, if i do come across a k-series s13 for my price range, what should i do ? should i take a look at it ? or should i just stay away from it cause it seems sus ? If i cant get an s13, can you guys tell me what i should try keep my eye on, i dont want a little car, im scared of them, my sister smashed into a little for laser once and it done 360's it was horrible lol. if i can get a non-turbo s13 for my price that would be great, if i cant then i guess i will just grab something else, maybe for a little cheaper. im not using a loan to buy a car. and if you read the post above you will see i do need it, if im going to get a job i dont want to be waking up at 7:00 every morning waiting for the bus, same thing goes for study, i dont want to have my mum drive me into the city every day for tafe. the other reason is if i get all settled i will be moving out, and i need a car before i do that so i dont have to walk to the shops for milk, commen sence stuff. EDIT : Mmm, i kinda know what you mean by DONT NEED, the turbo's and stuff, but like i said, i dont even need nor is it a priority. i said above i dont care if its stock, as i know stock would be cheaper. i just want a decent car, so i dont spend say 2k on a cheapo POS, when i could have added that 2K the the rest of the money to get a car i would keep for alot longer.

i played this one called " mountain vengence " for PC. it was the crappiest game ever, i was so dissapointed as the anime was kick ass, and the game sucked hardcore.

Wait i thought it was just a better type of BOV that produced this flutter sound, I was told that the BOV's that make this sound are alot better then the standard types, But is the only difference the sound it makes?

i would bassically suggest the same thing as BADHAB|T. maybe slam some soft stuff all around inside the boot, like a soft padding of some sort.

hehe thanks man, Im glad you guys are helpin me out, since im so young ive never done anything car buying and stuff before so its good to see places like this willing to help out btw, i just went and bought the quokka motoring paper, found 2 silvias in there both under 5K, since its last weeks paper im guessing they are gone but at least it gave me a tiny boost of confidence that ill find what im looking for Ill keep you guys posted on my situation for car hunting, thanks for all your help btw heres the add i seen in the paper : k series, 1991, turbo manual, boost controller, boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, BOV, 17 inch chrome wheelz, $5000 ono < - - sounds good ? i know its most likely sold by now heh, and its probably one of you guys selling it lol. anyways, what exactly is k series ?

i belive 100% that buying a car second hand from somewhere the clock will be turned back, i doubt there is any place that doesnt alter it. Btw, im looking for a manual, will that add alot to the price if its not auto ?

EDIT : you mean 5K pushing it for an s13 ?, Hmm i just thought that would be what they are worth, ive seen alot of them for sale, done up with turbo's intercoolers and other mods for around 8K, so i figured minus all the mods it would hit around 5k. About the insurance, Is that like a once off fee of $4100 for general insurance stuff, or are you talking about a every year kind of a thing? i took in mind the other things, like general maintanence and fuel costs, This is why im hoping to either get into studying again or get a job, its been pretty hard finding a job because of me dropping out at year 10, every job i seen requires 4 years + experience etc.etc. about the whole turbo thing, i got told that theres new laws coming soon. Something about if your a p plater you cant have a turbo ?. Thats pretty dissapointing, i dont see the point of it. If they do that they should at least have some way of letting certain p platers be excluded from this, maybe a test to see how much of a reliable driver we are or something like that. i guess they dont trust a 17yo with a fast car anymore, thanks to retard drivers who smash up there cars and kill a bunch of people at the same time. anyways, Looking at all these sites i guess i wont be able to import anything untill i get more cash, Im hopinh to scope out a few auctions to see if any s13's pop up, so i dont have to bother importing one. Hi there fellas, just thought ide post my situation and my plan for when im going to buy my car, maybe you guys can give me some tips or sugestions My situation is kinda screwed up, i stoped studying last year and havent got a job, wich means ive had 0$ and been living of my mum for almost a year now lol, and i feel super stupid for dropping out of my tafe course because if i was still studying i would most likely have enough money to buy my self a decent car. My mum said she will lend me some money untill i get my self back on track, then i can pay her back. Im not sure exactly how much money she will give me but hopefully enough. My plan at the start was to find a decent stock s13, Although an s14 and s15 would be nice they are not really in my price range, what i was going to do was keep this s13 and save for an r32 GTR, i know they are old but theres something about the r32 gtr's that i just love. i was hoping to get a decent s13 for around the 5K mark, although i havent seen one advertised anywhere for that low, If anyone knows the average price range for an s13 please let me know. my other plan was to import a car, maybe from somewhere like http://www.batfa.com/ . But then i learnt all about these compliance costs, alot of people have told me to top of the car price with another 5K because of it, so that kind of reuined my plan for importing a car. But i asked a couple more people, and they said a car that is over 15 years old would not have such a high compliance cost, so if anyone knows about this please let me know. ( sorry if its all been asked before, i havent had much time to go threw this forum, i will do so later tonight when i have some free time. ) So does anyone have some tips or advice, or just general knowlage i should know before i go out and search for an s13? thanks
