  1. what state are you in? in vic i believe pod is illegal if you have a FMIC as only one intake mod is allowed or something like that. pod should pass if you get a box (someone on these forums sell them, fit any pod on the market) or if you're worried buy a standard airbox or borrow one to get the defect cleared. also try doing a search on this topic should be some helpful info around. cheers.
  2. My mate has one of these in his wrx. I've never looked at it when he's been driving though. Perhaps something to do with the o2 sensor function if you've got that hooked up. Maybe the red/green light is corresponding to that? Like it might be red most of the time for rich and then turn green when it's running lean or something? I have no idea. What setting is the light next to when you're driving? Like Voltage, O2, what else do they have? EDIT: Another theory.. if its set to manual mode perhaps the light turns form red to green when it detects you are driving the car hard, so by doing this you know how sensitive the manual cool down setting is currently set to? Just an idea anyway.
  3. Eug- I didn't think there was a CA18DE 180SX ever released? Some of the later model 180sx's did come out with a NA SR20 though, I'd think a NA R33 should beat it, thats just my opinion though. CA18DET put out 130kw? S1 R33 RB25DE is around 140kw and weighs a few hundred kilo's more.. I'd say 180SX.. most are at least slightly modded anyway and those mods on the turbo 180SX are going to be a lot more beneficial to power output than similar mods to a NA (ie exhaust, intake etc) As far as an SR20DET 180SX, good luck! I own an NA R33 and I dont race it but when I was up the coast the other week my mate in his SR20DET 180SX with 2 passengers was leaving me for dead out of servo's etc.. they put out more power and weigh less so it's to be expected..
  4. Hey mate, just saw someone on here is selling their titanium catback Fujitsubo exhaust http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...opic=106246&hl=
  5. where are you located?
  6. FUJITSUBO EXHAUSTS http://www.musecret.com.au/ Just go to PARTS -> EXHAUST (no prices so you'd have to contact them) Used Kakimoto http://www.upimports.com.au/UPI_Parts/exhaust1.php (r33) http://www.upimports.com.au/UPI_Parts/exhaust2.php (r32) Not sure where you can buy Kakimoto exhausts new. Electro- why are you wary of the quality of a HKS exhaust??
  7. You seem pretty sure but I always thought it was understood that in the R33 range, all turbo models (series 1 and 2) were all type-m. The bodykits which people often refer to as 'M-spec' (or type-M) are actually just factory options. Could someone please clear this up for me?
  8. Congrats on choosing an R33 and welcome to the club. AFAIK all R33 GTS25Ts were 'Type M', the front bar is part of a factory aero package which many refer to as an 'M-spec' front bar and the 'taller wing' is a Series 2 wing which is often found on Series "1.5" 1995 models as well. LeonR34 is the guy you're thinking of, he works at Brad Bottcher. Let me know what they're like as I've had my eyes on a few R33 GTSTs that they are selling. Did you have a good look at any of the other R33s that they're selling? If you did could you please tell me what you thought of them? Cheers.
  9. I'd go a jap-brand exhaust for quality, ease of fit and you know the system has been specifically designed and tested for your car. They are probably more expensive than a locally made product however. If you still want something that's bolt-on but you're on a tight budget a DRIFT brand cat-back from Autobarn might be the go. Or you could look at a used japanese brand cat-back exhaust.
  10. I own a Wine Red S1 R33 with 'M-spec' kit and Red/Black Sparco wheels which seem to be pretty common so I've found a few look-a-likes on the net.. none in real life though. My one is the first pic (date in photo). EDIT: Images removed
  11. check your intercooler piping, BOV and all your hoses are connected. so the car idles/drives fine (apart from not making any boost)? is the car making any unusual noises?
  12. Here's a pic of the backseat in my R33, drivers seat is as far back as it'll go (I'm like 6"5')..

  14. is it already assembled? ie no need for a pop rivet gun?
  15. I would like to see HPI v10 as i think thats the one that has the silver 4-door r32 they buy from auction over there. The HPI v7 had a lot of drift but also had a drag event. Out of interest what do you guys like watching in a car dvd?
  16. Hey, thanks for posting up some pics. Where did you get this calendar from? Is it in perfect condition? Where abouts in Brisbane are you? I may be able to organise pick up or alternatively I will just get it posted. EDIT: Is this your average sized wall-mount calendar?
  17. I get my car serviced at Repco. They used "10w30 Cfx engine oil" at $32.51 for 5L. Doing a search on google this looks to be Fuchs Titan CFX which is apparently a mineral based oil?? Would this be okay? My car is a NA R33 with RB25DE engine.
  18. That's off "Hot Version: RB Japanese Muscle" if anyones interested, good DVD for the skyline fan (Well first 30mins anyway)..
  19. Thread revival.. Bought HPI v8 for my mates bday recently and Hot Version: RB Japanese muscle for myself. Got them both from Autobarn tweed heads, $30each. Hot Version: RB japanese muscle is all about skylines at the start. Has a bit of info about the history of the GTR models with archive footage and then has a selection of some of the ultimate GTR models including Bee Racing R324R Drift Car, HKS R34 Skyline GT-R, Mine's R34 Skyline GT-R and Hosaka R33 Skyline GT-R test driven by Tsuchiya, Orido and Wakisaka around Ebisu East course? I think. I preferred HPI v8 overall. Lots of drifting, I especially liked the touge runs. And the drags were pretty cool too. Damn i just saw on http://www.seriousbiz.com.au/ you can get HPI V7+8 for $29.95! Has anyone watched HPI v9? I would've got it but they didn't have it, it's meant to have HEAPS of drifting in it. What are some other good ones? I think I prefer the HPI style with more action as opposed to something like Hot Version with a lot of discussion (and subtitles). Tsuchiya is pretty funny though lol.
  20. Thanks elbee. I hope that is it all it was. This is probably a stupid question, but what is cooling the humid air?
  21. Anyone fitted the DIN gauge holder in R33 GTS? What is involved in hooking up the oil temp, oil press and water temp gauges? Also, as someone else asked do they do a 'opening ceremony' similar to the real Defi BF gauges on startup? Thanks.
  22. Hey guys, took my car for a drive today and after a while (about 40mins or so) started noticing a little bit of white smoke (or maybe its steam?) coming through the centre air vents. The temp gauge (stock) was at its normal level (around halfway) but I pulled over as soon as I could. I popped the bonnet to have a look expecting to see a heap of smoke coming from the engine, but there was no smoke to be seen and no signs of anything unusual. Had a good look all around the engine bay and under the car, no signs of smoke or any leaks. As I couldn't see anything to indicate a problem I decided to keep driving slowly. There was no sign of anymore smoke from the vents at first but after driving for a bit longer (maybe 10 mins or so) I noticed some more coming from the vent (not heaps, but you could just notice it) so I pulled over again and had another look under the engine and around the car, again finding nothing out of the ordinary. I felt the dash and it didn't feel hot or anything. I decided to continue driving and again the smoke was gone but ended up coming back perhaps 10mins later again or so. So I pulled over once more and did another check but everything still looked fine and nothing under the engine bay felt hotter than usual. I continued driving home and didnt notice anymore smoke on the way home(about 25mins). Had a good look under the bonnet with a torch at home but couldn't see anything unusual. Now from a google search I have discovered some things it could be. Smoke from burning wiring OR steam from heater pipes behind dash. I'll probably just wait till monday and get it checked out by my mechanic but just wondering what it could be? Should I try taking the dash off to have a look for the problem? Also I had the climate control OFF the whole time, just with the 'recycle' button selected (otherwise it lets too much hot air through). Thanks.
  23. How old/dirty is the panel filter and what pressure is the radiator cap?
