Headroom isn't really a problem for me, it's more legroom as most of my height is in my legs. If my left foot is on the clutch fully depressed then my knee fits comfortably under the steering wheel, otherwise, with my foot just resting on the clutch, my knee does not fit under the wheel and has to sit to the side of the wheel. Obviously, the same applies to the right hand side. Although a spacer or dished steering wheel could possibly free up some room for my knees, my arms are already close enough to the wheel, so I'd like to actually make the seat further away. What are the mounts that the seat is bolted to? Are they special reinforced areas of the chassis such that you couldn't simply drill new holes to mount the seat further back? What brand is it? Do you still have the box for it? Receipt? How far does it bring the wheel out?

Something similar happened to my uncle I believe. He wrote to them and got them to check the next couple of frames after or something and in the end they realised he'd stopped and reversed back. Sorry I can't remember exactly, it was a while ago. Worth a shot though I reckon.

I want to get the seat rails moved back (bolted further back in the car) or leave them where they are, but extend the rails (weld extra lengths on) so the seat has more travel. Does anyone know which option would be easier or more feasible? Who can perform this work? I imagine I will need to get it engineered? This will be for the drivers seat. I've noticed in the R33 the front part of the rails is bolted to a raised section of floor, thus if you moved it back you would have to straighten this piece out. Are there any other things which come to mind? Has anyone else done this to an R33? Thanks in advance.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but this happened to my R33 today. Odometer (including trip meter) stopped working, stuck on 89,XXXkms now.. Any opinions on whether it's better to repair or replace? I think I might just get it repaired so I can keep the genuine (or not so genuine.. as the case may be) kms. If it stops working is that a definite sign of tamperage.. kinda dissapointed cause I thought my k's were genuine (judging from condition of car). How does the R33's odometer work? I think i saw in this thread or another that it's electric? I'm tempted to leave it cause I hate watching the K's get closer to 100k but a) I dont want to be dodgy and B) prolly already done 100k lol.. Also, I'm in Northern NSW.. only place close I've found that might fix it is in grafton so may as well go up the coast.. Gavin Woods you reckon?

Yes I agree. Although insurance only required the immobiliser I got an alarm installed as well. Good value for money IMO.

I'm with Just Cars and from the start they only ever said I had to have a 2-point immobilser so no confusion for me..

I've 'kinda' been pulled over lol.. I was driving along one night and this AJ dudes R33 was in front of me and he turned off (not really relevant but anyway.. lol). In the same street a cop was waiting to turn onto the street I was driving along. Anyway a bit further down the road I saw a nice R33 parked in someones front yard and I pulled over to have a look. Just after I pull over I see a car behind me put it's indicator on. I new it was the cops but they didn't have their sirens/lights on so I put my right indicator on and slowly started creeping out.. sure enough they soon had the blue and reds going so I stopped. The female officer (no, she wasn't hot) walks up to my car and says "hey, I just saw you pull over and thought I'd make sure you were alright.." So I just replied 'yea I'm right thanks' and she has a quick look in and then goes "okay" and walks back to her car.. lol yea just seeing if i was alright.. pffffft. Luckily though my car is 99% stock! I was driving along next to my mate in his Civic one night and we were both doing about 80km/h in a 60 zone.. this car behind me makes the undercover cop car siren noise so I start pulling over but it goes past me, I'm thinking he must be going after my mate but my mate pulls over and this car goes straight past him as well. Me and my mate were like "wtf?!" we both thought we were gonna get done! Cops sometimes look at my car when they drive past but I don't get pulled over. I went to my local nissan dealership and there was a cop car there and I parked behind it (you idiot stimpy!), then I see a female forensics officer walk down to her car and just before she got in she like stared at my car.. I'm not sure if she was admiring or memorising my rego! lol Why do I attract all the weirdo cops? lol
